Cache is being made by fmpone again thats why that one is missing. The rest are missing because Valve decided to launch the game in an incomplete state.

Meanwhile fat guys like anomaly profit off the clickbait, showing 3 am player counts, and comparing them to peak CSGO player counts (mind you that's when cs2's beta just started...). Compared to last year's player counts, in the same period there's more players now. Seems like a made up problem, people with real jobs and responsibilities (majority of the playerbase) don't care about danger zone, canals and not being able to set the viewmodel to righthand...

I basically quit playing csgo. Now I am getting to know there are such better things to do in life. Thank you Valve, you messed that so well I realized. Even my friends won't ask me to play the game because they don't play that as well.
what i'm waiting the most ( a lot of people do too ) are the community servers. my favourite thing in cs wasn't matchmaking but rather other gamemodes such as kz, surf, bhop, etc.. a lot of people will agree that listening to music at 3am while surfing and chilling is an unmatched vibe edit : they apparently will add community servers sooner or later but it's been 2 months now they are taking quite some time

True, I was Supreme in CSGO. Now I'm Silver Elite on dust II even though I had over 100 ADR each game. The game looks nice, but the system is dog shit.
I don't think it's just speedrunners who lost out on the training course being removed, it was still a nicely put together tutorial and many new players used it.
I think a huge part of it is linked to not having ranks anymore. Having to grind 10 games per map to get a rank then to rank up on the maps can take way longer. So many people play premier mode but a number doesn’t feel as cool. Also with 2 comp modes essentially the player base is split on what people play.
Agreed, I would want to play comp but since it takes so long to get a rank and I don’t want to just play one map, my 5 stack always plays premier. So now we are never getting closer to getting those ranks. I think the one I’m closest to is 2 wins. It’s just way too many wins needed
atm i feel like both gamemodes are useless since every third player is cheating in both premier and competitive so it feels like waste of time. You cant even know anymore if someone is lucky or just cheating + the cheats are so advanced its hard to tell. And the saddest part is that I've came across many cheaters in 5stacks(Premier) and that nobody getting banned.
ive dropped from 11k elo to 7k because of the shit matchmaking, last weekend i also got a 7 day ban because my game crashed and made me verify files and valve refuses to do anything about it, they blame me so at this point ill probably not go back
I haven't played CS2 yet for more than like 10 minutes, but any time I hop on for a long time I always played wingman on lake and shortdust, I hope they add those maps back (I didn't really like cobble tbh, but it's still sad to see it go).
My biggest issue is with the crazy amount of cheaters. I've kinda gotten used to the subtick and the peeker advantage etc. but cheating is the main thing that just makes me not want to play the game.
just played with 2 rage hackers on my team, 1 of these guys had a 22k rating. Instantly got FACEit & the experience has been 100x better with their anti cheat.
I said it the day CS2 came out and I still stand by it: CS2 should have waited at least one more year. People say "Oh CS:GO was also bad". That was 11 years ago, Valve is massive, they have to do better. Keep them accountable for the low quality, this is what you must do as a consumer. Hopefully people speaking out more will push them to change faster.

I’m very thankful he mentioned the wrongful DPI banning. It’s insane that people I know have gotten permanent game bans from CS2 because they turned up their DPI and spun around with a Negev for fun in warm up
Personally, my biggest issue is that the gunplay just feels worse than what we had before. Shooting feels less consistent and hits less impactful. A very very important part of shooters is the player's feeling when they land a hit, CSGO had this down pretty well but for whatever reason CS2 does not. Being hit also feels worse, previously in CSGO every time I took a round I could easily tell whereas now the impact of being hit is both more annoying with the screen blood flash effect and less noticeable as to how much damage I've taken, this is less of an issue than the gunplay but certainly another core piece of CS that just feels like a downgrade of what we had previously. It's also a little harder to figure out what if anything is wrong with the new way you feel when being hit, honestly these changes could just be from being in a new game engine. A great example to illustrate what I'm talking about is Minecraft with its bedrock and java version. Both are very similar but being built in different engines core mechanics like movement, breaking blocks, and swinging your weapon just feel different between the two different versions when the developers have clearly tried to make both as similar as possible. I'm not a fan of a lot of the other issues like lack of new (and old) content but really just the gunplay feeling worse than what we previously had and no reason for me to believe that valve will end up changing it has been the nail in the coffin for my enjoyment of CS :(
I do think that the missing content that was in csgo will eventually be imported into CS2 however it just further shows that CS2 is not at all yet ready to release, I think valve really shot themselves in the leg by setting such a early release date
For me and a lot of my friends who have mid or shit PCs the transition from CSGO to CS2 made the game unplayable. With the lowest settings imaginable, it runs at 10-15fps max for us. I think that is something really important that you overlooked.
Well the game is new and Valve couldn't keep up with the competition if they didn't make a graphical update. The system requirements for CS2 are really low anyway, so anything faster than a Steam Deck can run it.
@@yindr5484you don’t need to “keep up with the competition” with a graphical update. Graphics isn’t the only thing that puts you in the big leagues. Crossfire, a game with 2000s graphics still has an amazing playerbase.
Also due to the randomness sometimes your bullets aren’t even 100% accurate I’ve sat completely still and shot at someone’s head who is also standing still and it doesn’t even hit them it’s off to the side occasionally
Yeah I seem to have this issue often as well. I'll find myself being still and having the crosshair on the enemies head for my shot to not register but then sometimes i'will headshot them when my shot missed by a considerable distance. It's infuriating because you feel gaslighted that your aim is bad but in reality it's the jank netcode / client/server sync that is making you miss your shots.
I installed the CSSO mod for cs source which is like a mod conversion from csgo and installed csgo skins to it and made a server for me and my friends to play in and had more fun in 10 minutes than i ever have had with cs2 so far
Honestly for me, the grind feels just even worse in CS2 than in CS:GO. I don't necessarily wanna play Premier when i am alone cause then i have almost zero decision on which map we'll play and i don't feel as good on some of them. Then i play in Premier against people with crazy higher rating and get stomped. And then the amount of rating u get from winning or lose from losing seems so random and unfair at times. As for competetive, which is the mode i play more of currently, i initially really liked the idea of seperate rank for every map, but it takes soooo long to even get a rank on every map. I have a fucking job and i dont have the entire day to grind those games. I'd much prefer if they made it so it's only 10 PLAYED matches to get a rank, not WON matches. The placements are dogshit as they are anyway, I've played placements vs silvers and supremes one after another. I'd much rather get my rank from 10 played matches faster and at least know what im standing on, not try to win 10 matches on every single map, which can take fucking ages if u are as mediocre as me. And even then, the maps i already got my rank on, feel even fucking worse to grind than in CS:GO. I've gotten streaks of 8/9 won matches before ranking up only to derank back after only 2 lost games in a row.
yes on csgo my rank is mg, now in cs2 i dont even have map rank and my premier stuck in 5k cuz of cheaters and facing full stack of 10k rating, fucking unplayable from valve dogshit game

The sad part is Danger Zone would actually be viable in CS2 because firstly the new engine is actually compatible with large maps unlike Source 1, and also that the maps would look absolutely beautiful. I get that Valve had to release CS2 on schedule but we have waited for a Source 2 port ever since Half Life: Alyx came out, so I'm pretty sure we can wait a few extra months...and let's not forget about TF2 fans 😅
i think for comp. ranks they just should do it that u need to win 10 maps on any map and then u get the rank on all of them as a starting point. then from there they count individually
you forgot to mention the different base agents on maps. for example i really miss the dust’s elite crew or the inferno’s separatists. pirates were funny and cool, and gign was superb. however there are many more we could list, having phoenix on dust 2 just doesnt make sense as well as having SAS in an american office..
Seems like they want to keep simplifying everything that isn't the core gameplay until its so fucking simple we're literally just going to have red vs blue team. I miss when everything had a decently realistic setup.

After watching this, the reason that I think individual map ranking was added so people boosting accounts and selling them would be reduced significantly. Like you said about 150 games if its 60% win rate, about 2 weeks of full time gaming is going to get them a rank. Which not a lot of people be able to do, market is going to be tight, accounts will probably get more expensive. That's my take. But I do agree with everything mentioned.
That smurfing thing always concerned me, being able to kinda "choose" your rank for each map weather to tryhard or fuck around would produce soooo many more smurfs which as Already a huge problem in csgo

I won 10 mirage games in a row with 20 kills at least, top frag and got silver elite. I was global elite in csgo, i am LVL 10 faceit and 19k rating lol. You can fuck around or try hard, the outcome will be the same.

I still play a lot of CS2. But when comparing how much time I played in 2014-2023 with CSGO vs playing CS2. I can definitely say that I play far more time during CSGO days. You were right. The removed content should be back soon enough, it gives us players more choices in terms of what to play and etc.
The peakers advantage is ludicrous. It also makes it so much harder if you have a hacker in the game because when you gonna peak them, you show up first. Great thinking!
One thing that annoy me about CS2 is the sub-tick system, and how inconsistent it is. Sometimes, your shots hits where you aim, and other times, it's like they lag behind a lot. It goes the other way too. Sometimes, you can dodge shots like in the Matrix, and other times it's like your head hitbox is the size of the Earth itself, and sometimes you get killed even in a relatively long time after going behind a corner, like your hitboxes are still out in the open... These inconsistensies between matches are really annoying. And they still have not fixed the problem when people with high ping (usually above 60-80) is in the match, where it feels like they have the advantage.

Honestly what bothers me most is that people are restricted from the 20+ weapons csgo offered to 15 "meta weapons" which means that if you want to win you can't really take any of the fun w3apons with you.
.. cs player base is mostly OGs ... noone cares that no other weapon is used only zoomer kids ... we just want the old nostalgic maps and a little bit better grafiks, nothings else, but valve just released a beta
yeah i said it since the release, the meta in CS2 is even worse than in CSGO, basically everyone has the same loadout whereas before you could toss in a little negev or an other fun weapon but now it's just dead, i dont even see the point of having guns like M249 in the game anymore since nobody is gonna use this crap
I knew this game wasn't ready for primetime when it wouldn't let me choose a higher resolution than 1366x768 in fullscreen mode without switching to Vulkan (which forces Vsync on for me) or editing a certain config file by hand. This is also a bug that's been in the Source 2 version of DOTA for years.
At this point I can only assume that Valve is saying "lol, go touch grass" cuz there's no way that Valve of all companies would treat their easiest cash cow this badly. It's especially weird considering how you could usually trust Valve in meeting and exceeding expectations with whatever they're releasing, but this time they disappointed everyone pretty much. No idea what they were thinking.
Majority of the lost players are due to the increase in hardware requirements. The reason why cs has always been popular all over the world is because pretty much anything can run it but that’s not the case anymore. There are ALOT of people playing the game on low spec hardware and some aren’t willing to deal with the low frames.
Totally agree with this one. I also see people make the argument that it doesn't take much to run the game (which is true) but having a low spec or outdated hardware makes the game not run smooth and at times unplayable. You don't wanna be playing a game like counter strike when your game stutters every few seconds or if a lot is going on. I currently run a GTX960 and are significantly getting less frames and more stutters compared to CSGO.
The lack of compatibility is also a big turnoff, despite the reputation that macs aren't good for gaming, there was still a portion of cs:go players who were on mac. Now, CS2 is no longer compatible with apple devices which alienates a whole section of the playerbase. Sure it isn't as significant as other issues but it's still an existing issue as well.
YES, THIS IS THE PROBLEM, me and 4 of my friends i party with all have very shitty/ old graphics card. Reason why we love playing CSGO is because its smooth even with a bad graphics card, just set everything low. Enjoy the game. Now I can't even get barely 40 fps with everything on low settings. My friends quit one by one and I followed. The only thing we could play together is just League Of Legends now
Anomaly you can make a change man, shout out your opinions on maps like cache, inferno and cobble getting removed. Start a petition and advertise it on your channel, share it with other creators. You are one of the biggest cs2 creator on this platform and you can make a change for the rest of us aswell!

I think they care about the 25% player drop, their fanbase is everything. People will play the game no matter what, that does not stop us from getting our voices and opinions heard about the game. I loved to play the casual game modes in Cs because once you grow up and life gets busy i dont have the time to grind whole Matches and just want to play some casual cs. Hope they return soon.
I feel like one more problem to be taken in account is the fact that CS2 requires a better PC setup. I mean, i used to have 200FPS constantly on CSGO, now i struggle at 60 with a decent PC. Considering that CS is pretty popular, this has for sure taken a toll on the playerbase
an issue of mine on why i started playing less is because of the removal of retakes, it was great warmup before comp, and just fun to play and relax with friends
Main issue that I face when it comes to CS2 is the optimization, I used to run the game just fine on 200+ fps on all high back in csgo and after the port I barely get 90 + frame lag and stuttering issues on all low, CSGO used to be my main game but now I can’t run it

the large number of maps that got deleted were my absolute favorites. and seeing Valve just simply discard them breaks my gaming soul. they were two reasons as why I was playing CSGO, first for fun, and secondly for case drops but now there is only 1 reason that keeps me playing CS2 and that is for case drops, If I was in charge to make CS2, I would never rush this game badly, plus when the game was released to the public, I was on an very bad losing streak and the reason why is the ranking system is now depended on singular maps and they are people who want map ranks and also at the same time really excellent gamers and Valve decided to put really excellent players and players that play terribly on a single server and I personally have a low end PC so the FPS on CS2 wasn't great, In CSGO I was averaging 140 FPS but on CS2 I only get 60 FPS, This explains why CS2 was becoming unplayable for me. CSGO had a really great place in my heart and now It's predecessor CS2 is just nothing but an example of a rushed unfinished game and that hurts me truly. I wouldn't be surprised if I quit Counter-Strike once and for all.
Community maps and servers were the heart and soul of 1.6 and source. Valve has deleted all the modes and maps and drained all the fun away from this game and it deserves to die because of it.
I don't play CS at all anymore but I'm constantly watching all the videos about the updates so I know when I can hop back into the game without being disappointed again.
Cleardecals were also deleted from commands. I used to spam it because blood and other decals just take away and can be confusing in curtain situations were the player blends in with the decals

Its hard to comprehend, truly it is, but all good things come to an end sometime. Maybe, its time for CS as a series to be put to rest, but seeing how gaming industry is these days, it does feel sad thinking about it. Maybe, we all can rejoice playing the classic 1.6 and just laughing it out with a cold one and friends, as if it were 2003 all again.
I used to play CSGO at 120fps CS2 is anything between 20-80... a lot of fps drops, even with terrible graphics settings, smokes drop your fps a lot, and if someone hit you the fps also drops by a lot. Also i have a problem where my game randomly freeze/crash I've been avoiding playing the game since the release
@@localshopkeeper9517 its not bad, ive always played in this framerate and i was a decent player. Also got immortal 1 in valorant playing with 100 fps, less But CS2 framerate is basically unplayable for me, anything that happens the fps drops below 30. Rather play another game
it would be good if they could improve the fps drops around mollys/smokes but honestly if you were getting only 120fps in csgo I doubt there's many modern games you can run well anyway
CS2 has reingnited my interest in CS. I played from CSS through to CS:GO, stopped playing in 2018; Just came back over a month ago for CS2, played 150+ hours since coming back, it feels like I'm 14 again; I am really loving CS2. It's worth noting that I mainly play faceit, rather than MM or Premier. I tried Premier at first, could only get to a 8500 rating because I am in EU servers and for some reason EU servers are still filled with Russians, so I went to Faceit and now I can see if I have a Russian on my team before hand, and I can dodge the queue if there is a Russian.
I reached mg2 right before cs2 release and became discouraged when my rank was essentially reset. I had looked forward to keep climbing the ranks and it was just completely removed.
My issue is not having short matches. Short matches were a godsend as you could have fun on various maps with various randoms without it getting stale. And if you had toxic teammates, you didn't have to sit through an hour of that gameplay.
My main problem is that the game has major tickrate problems. Cheaters has become even more common for some reason and the game for me because of those 2 reasons i binned the idea to becoming good at the game again. Since i recently reinstalled CS to try it out.
It might not be cheaters. Its possible they implemented “engagement based matchmaking” which, if true, could be the biggest scandal valve has ever been a part of.
Ngl, when at first got to play cs2 I was kinda excited for it. As soon as I saw the huge list of commands that I cannot use for example cl_bob and more... And the optimizations problems, etc. I just started to feel like its gonna be the CS end
my biggest problem in cs2 right now is the sounds. They are not optimized at all. Sometimes i will hear an enemy as if he is just around the corner when he actually is super far, which will make me prefire a corner for no reason and get revealed. Or i will hear an enemy above me even tho he is under me, typically something that happens often on Vertigo. I never encountered such problems in csgo, and i must admit this is one of the most annoying problem for me rn. The hitboxes is a topic as well, that really needs to be fixed properly. But yeah some core elements of the game are clearly not ready and unfinished which is definetly frustrating. I find myself playing less the game in general, mainly because all of my friends completely stopped. I wish Valve could fix at least the core elements of the game so that its actually playable. Skins in my opinion is not on the priority...
I really don't understand it, I see SO MANY people comment about this exact issue but for me its the total opposite, the sounds were AWFUL in CSGO and now in CS2 I can literally echo-locate the enemies through walls with 99% precision, I can literally pinpoint where infront of me they run through walls, I can even hear where they are running down on B-site from A-site on Nuke, its so good I love it
They need to improve 3 things: 1_ *Better anticheat* : They can make a hella intrusive anticheat as long as it doesn't affect performance, we don't want cheaters. 2_ *Optimization* : Yes, we get it, just upgrade the pc. Bro, people are not rich, some can't just print money and upgrade the pc, Most people are on a budget and can't just spend money on a hobby like ohnepixel quick-opening 200k worth of cases. Optimizing the game would bring a lot of new and old people to the game. 3_ *Bring back all the removed content and fix all the small details* : (Small details are important, missing voice lines in most of the skin agents, clipping knives on the hands of the agents (Bruh, knives are expensive to not pay attention to detail.), some of the skin agents have, for example, the radio command to say "A" site or "B" site, but they forgot to add it to the game. If you are a player that doesn't like to speak or can't, the radio voice lines are super nice to have and important. If you buy a skin, you expect to have all the voice lines, but no. For example, all the bloody Darryl skins have almost all the voice lines; you can say "A SITE, B bombsite" with the agent, while Riptide agents just don't have them, and in the game files there is the voice line.
There is a lot that can be improved in optimization - if you compare same ported maps from cs:go against cs2 with wireframe rendering enabled then sometimes there is even spawn of opposite team rendering from your spawn so VIS calculations when compiling map is ULTRA garbage. To counter this they implemented GPU culling that takes significant amount of FPS by itself.
The panic sellers already have done their job. I would buy in big right now. CS2 has a problem Valve can't ignore and the game will improve eventually. And CS seems to be still rising in popularity in China.
I wish there was a scrimmage option too. I have several friends that still play CS. Our skill differences are massive (LEM to SEM). Played ranked in any capacity is always horrible.
I actually played a lot when it came out as a long time fan. But I am back to playing once every couple of weeks. Don't forget that a lot of CS fans are in 30s and 40s and we still came back to play it and now we come back only when a full party gathers again.

I agree with you. I play substantially less CS2 than CSGO (17hrs past 2 weeks compared to around 30-70hrs in GO). Csgo was a lot better due to the stability, and I really miss Cache, Cobble, Dust2, Train and the other maps. I'm trying to play as much CS2 as I can to adapt to the new game but it keeps coming new bugs, which makes me less and less interested in actually playing. I hope Valve soon will do something about it, if not fixing the bugs, then please at least add some of the old content so the players can enjoy what they liked in CSGO. /Ricky Faceit lvl 10 (2900 elo in CSGO, 2500 in CS2, 16100 rating in premier atm)
It took me one game in Cs2 to uninstall it. All of my good memories wiped out like a Thanos snap. Sadly I’ve left this game with some good memories and made some really good friends through this game. Maybe one day I will be able to join back to the old cs and have a nostalgic feeling like I was back in the good old days.
It's definitely not just a Valve issue, it feels like releasing completely unfinished products has become the norm in the whole gaming industry. I'm personally liking CS2 so far but would have gladly played another year of CSGO if it would have guaranteed us a more complete CS2.
cs2 crashes for me nearly every session, csgo never crashed once in years of playing. i miss the maps that are missing (assault my beloved), and i miss danger zone so much. retakes and arms race were fun too. plus the gun control feels awful in cs2, i can’t even spray with the AK anymore. sucks they took csgo down.

The amount of times I've either put a minimum of 5 bullets into a guy, had it register as 2 and then died to him, or been barrel stuffed by someone unloading their mag who most definitely put more than 4 ak bullets into me just for me to turn around and kill them somehow with half HP remaining is concerning at best.
It just feels wrong. Sometimes I hit headshots that really really shouldn't be. Other times I dump an entire mag into an enemy and see the splatter too, but then the enemy two-shots me and I see I dealt no damage. I get a strange feeling that the game is artificially deciding if I should win or lose a gunfight. Its like "engagement optimization" from CoD.
4:55 This is a crime, the erasure of de_dust cannot be forgiven. This map was my introduction to CS back in the 1.5 days and it's extremely special to me. I'm happy to learn it actually had a remake but to see it getting deleted is just kick in the gut to me.
Valve already confirmed in a interview that the gamemodes are not forgotten, they just focused on the most played part of the game - competitive to be in the release and they already showed some of the cs2 reworked wargame maps in trailers, game files etc (including de_dust). Anomaly should've mentioned that there is a possibilty that they are coming back soon instead of telling that everything is "100% REMOVED".
I play way less, I only hop online when friends ask me or I have team practice. When csgo was still there, I was excited to get to play. I would play mm games when I was solo or just practice smokes, play retake, basically anything in csgo. I am getting more and more demotivated as each day passes. Hopefully it changes soon. If not, I see myself quiting cs in the future.
I believe that community servers with crazy modes will start popping left right and center. As soon as people start to realise what is possible to make with the new engine.
this year i played csgo alot more than before and after cs2 came out i only play on 3 account to farm up steam wallet and after i play 9 matches and like 3 dm games to get drops i just stop playing until next week but it might be only me
I think CS2 not being ready is by far the biggest reason. Valve really shot themselves in the foot with the Summer release promise. Nobody would care about a broken beta, but a broken game is much different
For me the problem is that there are almost no balanced matches in cs2 every game is a gamble no matter what rank you are the players can reach from silver with a few hundred hours to a 10k hour lvl 10 player and also there are many cheaters i lose 99% of my matches because either my team is so bad or the enemy team is just way to good
I used to play a lot before the update, my copmuter is not that good but still managed to reach 70 frames per secound but now I get like 30 so I stopped playing.
Big things coming soon for cs2. Remember how out of the blue cs2 was. It had been a bit long since last operation (not the longest time mind you) and out of left field we got cs2 announced as being real and having a closed beta. There's tonnes of shit that wasn't finished in time that's about to come out. This teething phase is how valve is speedrunning development for cs2 (way way more feedback)
It a competetive game that is played on tournaments. You can't fucking speedrun development for shit and giggles and more feedback. And most of that feedback is useless anyway, since its only rage rants.
Maybe it’s just me but I need them to fix my capsules missing in my storage units I thought I had sold it but I had installed the beta when everyone got it and looked at my storage units and I was missing my ESL One Cologne 2014 Legends, which isn’t worth a whole lot it’s only $110 or so but I wanted to make sure I always had something from way back then and it was gone from my cs2 inventory but I could back then still switch to csgo and I saw it in my inventory but now that they made 2 the entire game I can’t even see it anymore

Here's my little story. Basically I got the beta access a while ago and I only played it a bit like maybe 1 or 2 hours max and during that whole time I felt extremely uncomfortable cuz I felt noticeable difference. That difference was ofc movement, terrible hit registration and some other obvious stuff like that, but for me for some reason I felt many bugs and glitches and even bugs with settings etc. One of the biggest one I felt was that for some reason my game felt like it's running on 60hz screen even though I have 144hz monitor. I did set to 144hz in video settings and I do have more than 144fps soI shouldn't have that problem, but for some reason I have. I also felt even some kind of input lag, but maybe that's cuz like I said previously my game was running on 60hz (I can see a difference with my eyes, I'm not stupid) and when I saw multiple bugs and glitches like that it felt extremely uncomfortable to me to play cs2 so I didn't touch cs2 beta until official cs2 release. I was waiting around 1 hour before offical release and watched the number os csgo servers shutting down on some steam website (I forgot the name) and when it officially came out I went to play few premier or matchmaking matches and saw that everything is the same like beta and my game was still running on 60hz. That same day I deleted the game and I didn't touch it since then so now it's 46th day since I touched cs2 last time. That's the biggest time ever I didn't touch cs at all. Usually I would always play few hours every day or every 2nd day and now I didn't touch it for month and a half. So curently I just see new and read blog page what's changed in every update, but also like you said not only it effected the game and gameplay itself it's also skins are imo way worse. Sure, some shiny skins like glock twilight galaxy crafted with few holo stickers I have, doppler changes etc. are nice, but most of other skins look like they're matte and felt like they're sanded or something. They lost depth in colors or some shit like that. And like you already said in the video valve is always changing look of skins where they fix few of them, but also somehow fuck up some other skins way more. One of the examples I saw recently is that mac10 lapis gator which I use in my blue themed inventory is now changed and looks green instead of blue. How tf they can completely change color on the skin? So overall whole experience is for me not really fun and in terms of skins I would recommend for everyone to not buy or sell skins considering how often valve is changing their look and we can't know whether that change will be better or worse. In the meantime I play some other games and I will play them until cs2 gets fixed. Edit: oh yeah, I forgot one thing. As you already said mm is not worth at all and it's just waste of time considering how long it takes to get first rank on every single map and that first rank will be like gold nova or something so you'll have to play even more after that which is total waste of time. In csgo mm was already dead, but rn it will be most likely completely dead so for myself I would just go for global in wingman and play faceit and maybe premier if valve fix it.

My main problem with the game at the moment is the community server browser not being functional atm. Sometimes I'd just get bored and play some 24/7 bhop awp or surf server while listening to youtube videos. I can still launch legacy CS:GO to do this but it just doesn't feel the same since not too many people are on the servers anymore. I know they'll 100% add this eventually, just a shame it's been so slow to release.

Yeah, the current ffa deathmatch is so bad, the spawns are terrible, you have to rebuy your weapon every time you die, respawn invulnerability lasting like 1 whole second after someone moves and/or shoots, everything about it just sucks so much. If they dont want to give us team deathmatch back, at least fix the ffa one.
Fr, sometimes I just want to play casual game after a whole day but there is no chill team deathmatch nor the fun maps I enjoyed playing like militia. It’s just 2 maps for the most part filled with sweats beating the shit out of you the second you move after spawning

what i'm waiting the most ( a lot of people do too ) are the community servers. my favourite thing in cs wasn't matchmaking but rather other gamemodes such as kz, surf, bhop, etc.. a lot of people will agree that listening to music at 3am while surfing and chilling is an unmatched vibe

I think a huge part of it is linked to not having ranks anymore. Having to grind 10 games per map to get a rank then to rank up on the maps can take way longer. So many people play premier mode but a number doesn’t feel as cool. Also with 2 comp modes essentially the player base is split on what people play.

Agreed, I would want to play comp but since it takes so long to get a rank and I don’t want to just play one map, my 5 stack always plays premier. So now we are never getting closer to getting those ranks. I think the one I’m closest to is 2 wins. It’s just way too many wins needed

atm i feel like both gamemodes are useless since every third player is cheating in both premier and competitive so it feels like waste of time. You cant even know anymore if someone is lucky or just cheating + the cheats are so advanced its hard to tell. And the saddest part is that I've came across many cheaters in 5stacks(Premier) and that nobody getting banned.
ive dropped from 11k elo to 7k because of the shit matchmaking, last weekend i also got a 7 day ban because my game crashed and made me verify files and valve refuses to do anything about it, they blame me so at this point ill probably not go back
I haven't played CS2 yet for more than like 10 minutes, but any time I hop on for a long time I always played wingman on lake and shortdust, I hope they add those maps back (I didn't really like cobble tbh, but it's still sad to see it go).
My biggest issue is with the crazy amount of cheaters. I've kinda gotten used to the subtick and the peeker advantage etc. but cheating is the main thing that just makes me not want to play the game.

just played with 2 rage hackers on my team, 1 of these guys had a 22k rating. Instantly got FACEit & the experience has been 100x better with their anti cheat.
I said it the day CS2 came out and I still stand by it: CS2 should have waited at least one more year. People say "Oh CS:GO was also bad". That was 11 years ago, Valve is massive, they have to do better. Keep them accountable for the low quality, this is what you must do as a consumer. Hopefully people speaking out more will push them to change faster.

I’m very thankful he mentioned the wrongful DPI banning. It’s insane that people I know have gotten permanent game bans from CS2 because they turned up their DPI and spun around with a Negev for fun in warm up
Personally, my biggest issue is that the gunplay just feels worse than what we had before. Shooting feels less consistent and hits less impactful. A very very important part of shooters is the player's feeling when they land a hit, CSGO had this down pretty well but for whatever reason CS2 does not. Being hit also feels worse, previously in CSGO every time I took a round I could easily tell whereas now the impact of being hit is both more annoying with the screen blood flash effect and less noticeable as to how much damage I've taken, this is less of an issue than the gunplay but certainly another core piece of CS that just feels like a downgrade of what we had previously. It's also a little harder to figure out what if anything is wrong with the new way you feel when being hit, honestly these changes could just be from being in a new game engine. A great example to illustrate what I'm talking about is Minecraft with its bedrock and java version. Both are very similar but being built in different engines core mechanics like movement, breaking blocks, and swinging your weapon just feel different between the two different versions when the developers have clearly tried to make both as similar as possible.
I'm not a fan of a lot of the other issues like lack of new (and old) content but really just the gunplay feeling worse than what we previously had and no reason for me to believe that valve will end up changing it has been the nail in the coffin for my enjoyment of CS :(
as of December the gunplay feels more polished, probably just typical release bugs that need to get worked out
I do think that the missing content that was in csgo will eventually be imported into CS2 however it just further shows that CS2 is not at all yet ready to release, I think valve really shot themselves in the leg by setting such a early release date

For me and a lot of my friends who have mid or shit PCs the transition from CSGO to CS2 made the game unplayable. With the lowest settings imaginable, it runs at 10-15fps max for us. I think that is something really important that you overlooked.

Well the game is new and Valve couldn't keep up with the competition if they didn't make a graphical update. The system requirements for CS2 are really low anyway, so anything faster than a Steam Deck can run it.
Easy solution would be to keep both games around.

@@yindr5484you don’t need to “keep up with the competition” with a graphical update. Graphics isn’t the only thing that puts you in the big leagues. Crossfire, a game with 2000s graphics still has an amazing playerbase.
Also due to the randomness sometimes your bullets aren’t even 100% accurate I’ve sat completely still and shot at someone’s head who is also standing still and it doesn’t even hit them it’s off to the side occasionally
Yeah I seem to have this issue often as well. I'll find myself being still and having the crosshair on the enemies head for my shot to not register but then sometimes i'will headshot them when my shot missed by a considerable distance. It's infuriating because you feel gaslighted that your aim is bad but in reality it's the jank netcode / client/server sync that is making you miss your shots.
I installed the CSSO mod for cs source which is like a mod conversion from csgo and installed csgo skins to it and made a server for me and my friends to play in and had more fun in 10 minutes than i ever have had with cs2 so far
Honestly for me, the grind feels just even worse in CS2 than in CS:GO. I don't necessarily wanna play Premier when i am alone cause then i have almost zero decision on which map we'll play and i don't feel as good on some of them. Then i play in Premier against people with crazy higher rating and get stomped. And then the amount of rating u get from winning or lose from losing seems so random and unfair at times. As for competetive, which is the mode i play more of currently, i initially really liked the idea of seperate rank for every map, but it takes soooo long to even get a rank on every map. I have a fucking job and i dont have the entire day to grind those games. I'd much prefer if they made it so it's only 10 PLAYED matches to get a rank, not WON matches. The placements are dogshit as they are anyway, I've played placements vs silvers and supremes one after another. I'd much rather get my rank from 10 played matches faster and at least know what im standing on, not try to win 10 matches on every single map, which can take fucking ages if u are as mediocre as me. And even then, the maps i already got my rank on, feel even fucking worse to grind than in CS:GO. I've gotten streaks of 8/9 won matches before ranking up only to derank back after only 2 lost games in a row.

The sad part is Danger Zone would actually be viable in CS2 because firstly the new engine is actually compatible with large maps unlike Source 1, and also that the maps would look absolutely beautiful.
I get that Valve had to release CS2 on schedule but we have waited for a Source 2 port ever since Half Life: Alyx came out, so I'm pretty sure we can wait a few extra months...and let's not forget about TF2 fans 😅

i think for comp. ranks they just should do it that u need to win 10 maps on any map and then u get the rank on all of them as a starting point. then from there they count individually
One of the biggest selling point for me was improved and better anti-cheat which we didint get. Also peekers advantage is worse than in csgo.
you forgot to mention the different base agents on maps. for example i really miss the dust’s elite crew or the inferno’s separatists. pirates were funny and cool, and gign was superb. however there are many more we could list, having phoenix on dust 2 just doesnt make sense as well as having SAS in an american office..

After watching this, the reason that I think individual map ranking was added so people boosting accounts and selling them would be reduced significantly. Like you said about 150 games if its 60% win rate, about 2 weeks of full time gaming is going to get them a rank. Which not a lot of people be able to do, market is going to be tight, accounts will probably get more expensive. That's my take. But I do agree with everything mentioned.
That smurfing thing always concerned me, being able to kinda "choose" your rank for each map weather to tryhard or fuck around would produce soooo many more smurfs which as Already a huge problem in csgo

I still play a lot of CS2. But when comparing how much time I played in 2014-2023 with CSGO vs playing CS2. I can definitely say that I play far more time during CSGO days. You were right. One thing that annoy me about CS2 is the sub-tick system, and how inconsistent it is. Sometimes, your shots hits where you aim, and other times, it's like they lag behind a lot. It goes the other way too. Sometimes, you can dodge shots like in the Matrix, and other times it's like your head hitbox is the size of the Earth itself, and sometimes you get killed even in a relatively long time after going behind a corner, like your hitboxes are still out in the open... These inconsistensies between matches are really annoying. And they still have not fixed the problem when people with high ping (usually above 60-80) is in the match, where it feels like they have the advantage.

I knew this game wasn't ready for primetime when it wouldn't let me choose a higher resolution than 1366x768 in fullscreen mode without switching to Vulkan (which forces Vsync on for me) or editing a certain config file by hand. This is also a bug that's been in the Source 2 version of DOTA for years.
At this point I can only assume that Valve is saying "lol, go touch grass" cuz there's no way that Valve of all companies would treat their easiest cash cow this badly. It's especially weird considering how you could usually trust Valve in meeting and exceeding expectations with whatever they're releasing, but this time they disappointed everyone pretty much. No idea what they were thinking.
Majority of the lost players are due to the increase in hardware requirements. The reason why cs has always been popular all over the world is because pretty much anything can run it but that’s not the case anymore. There are ALOT of people playing the game on low spec hardware and some aren’t willing to deal with the low frames.
Totally agree with this one. I also see people make the argument that it doesn't take much to run the game (which is true) but having a low spec or outdated hardware makes the game not run smooth and at times unplayable. You don't wanna be playing a game like counter strike when your game stutters every few seconds or if a lot is going on. I currently run a GTX960 and are significantly getting less frames and more stutters compared to CSGO.

The lack of compatibility is also a big turnoff, despite the reputation that macs aren't good for gaming, there was still a portion of cs:go players who were on mac. Now, CS2 is no longer compatible with apple devices which alienates a whole section of the playerbase. Sure it isn't as significant as other issues but it's still an existing issue as well.
YES, THIS IS THE PROBLEM, me and 4 of my friends i party with all have very shitty/ old graphics card. Reason why we love playing CSGO is because its smooth even with a bad graphics card, just set everything low. Enjoy the game. Now I can't even get barely 40 fps with everything on low settings. My friends quit one by one and I followed. The only thing we could play together is just League Of Legends now

I loved to play the casual game modes in Cs because once you grow up and life gets busy i dont have the time to grind whole Matches and just want to play some casual cs. Hope they return soon.
I feel like one more problem to be taken in account is the fact that CS2 requires a better PC setup. I mean, i used to have 200FPS constantly on CSGO, now i struggle at 60 with a decent PC. Considering that CS is pretty popular, this has for sure taken a toll on the playerbase

Main issue that I face when it comes to CS2 is the optimization, I used to run the game just fine on 200+ fps on all high back in csgo and after the port I barely get 90 + frame lag and stuttering issues on all low, CSGO used to be my main game but now I can’t run it

the large number of maps that got deleted were my absolute favorites. and seeing Valve just simply discard them breaks my gaming soul. they were two reasons as why I was playing CSGO, first for fun, and secondly for case drops but now there is only 1 reason that keeps me playing CS2 and that is for case drops, If I was in charge to make CS2, I would never rush this game badly, plus when the game was released to the public, I was on an very bad losing streak and the reason why is the ranking system is now depended on singular maps and they are people who want map ranks and also at the same time really excellent gamers and Valve decided to put really excellent players and players that play terribly on a single server and I personally have a low end PC so the FPS on CS2 wasn't great, In CSGO I was averaging 140 FPS but on CS2 I only get 60 FPS, This explains why CS2 was becoming unplayable for me. CSGO had a really great place in my heart and now It's predecessor CS2 is just nothing but an example of a rushed unfinished game and that hurts me truly. I wouldn't be surprised if I quit Counter-Strike once and for all.

Community maps and servers were the heart and soul of 1.6 and source. Valve has deleted all the modes and maps and drained all the fun away from this game and it deserves to die because of it.
I don't play CS at all anymore but I'm constantly watching all the videos about the updates so I know when I can hop back into the game without being disappointed again.

Cleardecals were also deleted from commands. I used to spam it because blood and other decals just take away and can be confusing in curtain situations were the player blends in with the decals

CS2 is anything between 20-80... a lot of fps drops, even with terrible graphics settings, smokes drop your fps a lot, and if someone hit you the fps also drops by a lot. Also i have a problem where my game randomly freeze/crash

CS2 has reingnited my interest in CS. I played from CSS through to CS:GO, stopped playing in 2018; Just came back over a month ago for CS2, played 150+ hours since coming back, it feels like I'm 14 again; I am really loving CS2.
It's worth noting that I mainly play faceit, rather than MM or Premier. I tried Premier at first, could only get to a 8500 rating because I am in EU servers and for some reason EU servers are still filled with Russians, so I went to Faceit and now I can see if I have a Russian on my team before hand, and I can dodge the queue if there is a Russian.
It's so sad to see people wanting to avoid contact with Russians in online games because of them generally being assholes to foreign folks

I reached mg2 right before cs2 release and became discouraged when my rank was essentially reset. I had looked forward to keep climbing the ranks and it was just completely removed.
My issue is not having short matches.
Short matches were a godsend as you could have fun on various maps with various randoms without it getting stale. And if you had toxic teammates, you didn't have to sit through an hour of that gameplay.
My main problem is that the game has major tickrate problems. Cheaters has become even more common for some reason and the game for me because of those 2 reasons i binned the idea to becoming good at the game again. Since i recently reinstalled CS to try it out.

It might not be cheaters. Its possible they implemented “engagement based matchmaking” which, if true, could be the biggest scandal valve has ever been a part of.

Ngl, when at first got to play cs2 I was kinda excited for it. As soon as I saw the huge list of commands that I cannot use for example cl_bob and more... And the optimizations problems, etc. I just started to feel like its gonna be the CS end
my biggest problem in cs2 right now is the sounds. They are not optimized at all. Sometimes i will hear an enemy as if he is just around the corner when he actually is super far, which will make me prefire a corner for no reason and get revealed. Or i will hear an enemy above me even tho he is under me, typically something that happens often on Vertigo. I never encountered such problems in csgo, and i must admit this is one of the most annoying problem for me rn. The hitboxes is a topic as well, that really needs to be fixed properly. But yeah some core elements of the game are clearly not ready and unfinished which is definetly frustrating. I find myself playing less the game in general, mainly because all of my friends completely stopped. I wish Valve could fix at least the core elements of the game so that its actually playable. Skins in my opinion is not on the priority...

I really don't understand it, I see SO MANY people comment about this exact issue but for me its the total opposite, the sounds were AWFUL in CSGO and now in CS2 I can literally echo-locate the enemies through walls with 99% precision, I can literally pinpoint where infront of me they run through walls, I can even hear where they are running down on B-site from A-site on Nuke, its so good I love it
They need to improve 3 things:
1_ *Better anticheat* : They can make a hella intrusive anticheat as long as it doesn't affect performance, we don't want cheaters.
2_ *Optimization* : Yes, we get it, just upgrade the pc. Bro, people are not rich, some can't just print money and upgrade the pc, Most people are on a budget and can't just spend money on a hobby like ohnepixel quick-opening 200k worth of cases. Optimizing the game would bring a lot of new and old people to the game.
3_ *Bring back all the removed content and fix all the small details* : (Small details are important, missing voice lines in most of the skin agents, clipping knives on the hands of the agents (Bruh, knives are expensive to not pay attention to detail.), some of the skin agents have, for example, the radio command to say "A" site or "B" site, but they forgot to add it to the game. If you are a player that doesn't like to speak or can't, the radio voice lines are super nice to have and important. If you buy a skin, you expect to have all the voice lines, but no. For example, all the bloody Darryl skins have almost all the voice lines; you can say "A SITE, B bombsite" with the agent, while Riptide agents just don't have them, and in the game files there is the voice line.
There is a lot that can be improved in optimization - if you compare same ported maps from cs:go against cs2 with wireframe rendering enabled then sometimes there is even spawn of opposite team rendering from your spawn so VIS calculations when compiling map is ULTRA garbage. To counter this they implemented GPU culling that takes significant amount of FPS by itself.
Train and cobble were my favourite maps and I even got a win yesterday off a 7-13 loss that gave me a rank

I wish there was a scrimmage option too. I have several friends that still play CS. Our skill differences are massive (LEM to SEM). Played ranked in any capacity is always horrible.
Just play regular comp, it's currently like a scrim, way more laid back than premier.

I actually played a lot when it came out as a long time fan. But I am back to playing once every couple of weeks. Don't forget that a lot of CS fans are in 30s and 40s and we still came back to play it and now we come back only when a full party gathers again.

I agree with you. I play substantially less CS2 than CSGO (17hrs past 2 weeks compared to around 30-70hrs in GO).
Csgo was a lot better due to the stability, and I really miss Cache, Cobble, Dust2, Train and the other maps. I'm trying to play as much CS2 as I can to adapt to the new game but it keeps coming new bugs, which makes me less and less interested in actually playing. I hope Valve soon will do something about it, if not fixing the bugs, then please at least add some of the old content so the players can enjoy what they liked in CSGO. /Ricky

It took me one game in Cs2 to uninstall it. All of my good memories wiped out like a Thanos snap. Sadly I’ve left this game with some good memories and made some really good friends through this game. Maybe one day I will be able to join back to the old cs and have a nostalgic feeling like I was back in the good old days.
It's definitely not just a Valve issue, it feels like releasing completely unfinished products has become the norm in the whole gaming industry.

cs2 crashes for me nearly every session, csgo never crashed once in years of playing. i miss the maps that are missing (assault my beloved), and i miss danger zone so much. retakes and arms race were fun too. plus the gun control feels awful in cs2, i can’t even spray with the AK anymore. sucks they took csgo down.

The amount of times I've either put a minimum of 5 bullets into a guy, had it register as 2 and then died to him, or been barrel stuffed by someone unloading their mag who most definitely put more than 4 ak bullets into me just for me to turn around and kill them somehow with half HP remaining is concerning at best.

It just feels wrong. Sometimes I hit headshots that really really shouldn't be. Other times I dump an entire mag into an enemy and see the splatter too, but then the enemy two-shots me and I see I dealt no damage. I get a strange feeling that the game is artificially deciding if I should win or lose a gunfight. Its like "engagement optimization" from CoD.

4:55 This is a crime, the erasure of de_dust cannot be forgiven. This map was my introduction to CS back in the 1.5 days and it's extremely special to me. I'm happy to learn it actually had a remake but to see it getting deleted is just kick in the gut to me.
Valve already confirmed in a interview that the gamemodes are not forgotten, they just focused on the most played part of the game - competitive to be in the release and they already showed some of the cs2 reworked wargame maps in trailers, game files etc (including de_dust). Anomaly should've mentioned that there is a possibilty that they are coming back soon instead of telling that everything is "100% REMOVED".

I play way less, I only hop online when friends ask me or I have team practice. When csgo was still there, I was excited to get to play. I would play mm games when I was solo or just practice smokes, play retake, basically anything in csgo. I am getting more and more demotivated as each day passes. Hopefully it changes soon. If not, I see myself quiting cs in the future.
I believe that community servers with crazy modes will start popping left right and center. As soon as people start to realise what is possible to make with the new engine.

I think CS2 not being ready is by far the biggest reason. Valve really shot themselves in the foot with the Summer release promise. Nobody would care about a broken beta, but a broken game is much different
For me the problem is that there are almost no balanced matches in cs2 every game is a gamble no matter what rank you are the players can reach from silver with a few hundred hours to a 10k hour lvl 10 player and also there are many cheaters i lose 99% of my matches because either my team is so bad or the enemy team is just way to good

Big things coming soon for cs2. Remember how out of the blue cs2 was. It had been a bit long since last operation (not the longest time mind you) and out of left field we got cs2 announced as being real and having a closed beta. There's tonnes of shit that wasn't finished in time that's about to come out. This teething phase is how valve is speedrunning development for cs2 (way way more feedback)
It a competetive game that is played on tournaments. You can't fucking speedrun development for shit and giggles and more feedback. And most of that feedback is useless anyway, since its only rage rants.
cs2 shouldn't have replaced csgo if it wasn't ready. They could've kept it beta and continued to improve it.

Maybe it’s just me but I need them to fix my capsules missing in my storage units I thought I had sold it but I had installed the beta when everyone got it and looked at my storage units and I was missing my ESL One Cologne 2014 Legends, which isn’t worth a whole lot it’s only $110 or so but I wanted to make sure I always had something from way back then and it was gone from my cs2 inventory but I could back then still switch to csgo and I saw it in my inventory but now that they made 2 the entire game I can’t even see it anymore

Here's my little story. Basically I got the beta access a while ago and I only played it a bit like maybe 1 or 2 hours max and during that whole time I felt extremely uncomfortable cuz I felt noticeable difference. That difference was ofc movement, terrible hit registration and some other obvious stuff like that, but for me for some reason I felt many bugs and glitches and even bugs with settings etc. One of the biggest one I felt was that for some reason my game felt like it's running on 60hz screen even though I have 144hz monitor. I did set to 144hz in video settings and I do have more than 144fps soI shouldn't have that problem, but for some reason I have. I also felt even some kind of input lag, but maybe that's cuz like I said previously my game was running on 60hz (I can see a difference with my eyes, I'm not stupid) and when I saw multiple bugs and glitches like that it felt extremely uncomfortable to me to play cs2 so I didn't touch cs2 beta until official cs2 release. I was waiting around 1 hour before offical release and watched the number os csgo servers shutting down on some steam website (I forgot the name) and when it officially came out I went to play few premier or matchmaking matches and saw that everything is the same like beta and my game was still running on 60hz. That same day I deleted the game and I didn't touch it since then so now it's 46th day since I touched cs2 last time. That's the biggest time ever I didn't touch cs at all. Usually I would always play few hours every day or every 2nd day and now I didn't touch it for month and a half. So curently I just see new and read blog page what's changed in every update, but also like you said not only it effected the game and gameplay itself it's also skins are imo way worse. Sure, some shiny skins like glock twilight galaxy crafted with few holo stickers I have, doppler changes etc. are nice, but most of other skins look like they're matte and felt like they're sanded or something. They lost depth in colors or some shit like that. And like you already said in the video valve is always changing look of skins where they fix few of them, but also somehow fuck up some other skins way more. One of the examples I saw recently is that mac10 lapis gator which I use in my blue themed inventory is now changed and looks green instead of blue. How tf they can completely change color on the skin? So overall whole experience is for me not really fun and in terms of skins I would recommend for everyone to not buy or sell skins considering how often valve is changing their look and we can't know whether that change will be better or worse. In the meantime I play some other games and I will play them until cs2 gets fixed.
Edit: oh yeah, I forgot one thing. As you already said mm is not worth at all and it's just waste of time considering how long it takes to get first rank on every single map and that first rank will be like gold nova or something so you'll have to play even more after that which is total waste of time. In csgo mm was already dead, but rn it will be most likely completely dead so for myself I would just go for global in wingman and play faceit and maybe premier if valve fix it.

My main problem with the game at the moment is the community server browser not being functional atm. Sometimes I'd just get bored and play some 24/7 bhop awp or surf server while listening to youtube videos. I can still launch legacy CS:GO to do this but it just doesn't feel the same since not too many people are on the servers anymore. I know they'll 100% add this eventually, just a shame it's been so slow to release.

Yeah, the current ffa deathmatch is so bad, the spawns are terrible, you have to rebuy your weapon every time you die, respawn invulnerability lasting like 1 whole second after someone moves and/or shoots, everything about it just sucks so much. If they dont want to give us team deathmatch back, at least fix the ffa one.
