    The Bangles had a unique style and were great. Not only Susanna had the lead vocals but most of their singles did, so that's why much people didn't get to know much about the other members vocals but I guess Susanna had the most interesting and palatable one. Susanna Hoffs on her own is super talented and hasn't stopped writing beautiful songs and even when singing covers she gives them her own different and personal style. She really is a musician.

    • @davidgoodman4208
      @davidgoodman4208 Před 2 lety +5

      I don't think it's so much that Susanna had the most interesting or palatable voice... as that their record company felt she was the prettiest and wanted to promote her as a star. (Even if she had terrible stage fright, and Vicki Peterson displayed far more personality in live performances.) The Bangles were a really good band, with several talented members, that IMO got overmanaged by their label.

    Three of the four still perform together believe it or not, so not "were" talented, are talented. They still look great too and sound just as good. Also, Susanna Hoffs, who is the vocalist for this song and quite a few of their bigger hits, like Manic Monday is not the main vocalist. They all sang and took turns as main vocalist, even the drummer. Check out Be With You for that. In Your Room, Watching the Sky, and Hero Takes a Fall are great songs with switched up vocalists.

    Susanna Hoffs (the singer) is one of the most gracefully aged people I have ever seen. I watched a recent interview she gave, and she's in her 60s now, and I swear she could easily pass for a woman in her mid to late 30s. And it doesn't look like she's had any work done either. It just seems like she probably took really good care of her skin, ate well, and/or has really amazing genetics. And of course this is all just superfluous to her talents as a musician. So its really just icing on the cake - some really fucking good icing - but icing on the cake none-the-less.

      @@seandobson6221 I usually watch at least a chunk of those flicks when they come on TV, even St. Elmo's. I recently saw some reaction vids on YT for TBC/Pretty In Pink. Nostalgia trips. I'd like to know if it was a contractual thing that Spader and McCarthy were almost always in the same movies. Only ones up to 88/89ish I can think of where that wasn't the case were Wall Street, Sex/Lies/Videotape, and Weekend At Bernie's.

    Love how as soon as the song started, you guys were swyaing in sync with each other- kinda made the point of the whole song in the first 10 seconds....

    I loved the Bangles when they became popular in 1986. Walk Like an Egyptian was so hot, and the MV, Suzanna Hoffs eyes after the second riff, guitar strike. idk but not only that, Michael Steele, one of the original "RUNAWAYS" Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Cherie Currie and Sandy West. I think they were the first all girl rock group formed in the 70s. Didn't know much about the patterson sisters, but this band was pure fire in the mid 80s

    I had such a crush for Sussana Hoffs thanks in part to the music video for this and Walk Like an Egyptian. I liked her solo album that had Beekeeper Blues and All I Want, have those on (old school) mix CD that I listen to often.

    6th grade me had a huge crush on Susanna Hoff, who sang lead on most of their songs. I think it was her eyes at fist when she sang the words “walk like an Egyptian” (she didn’t sing lead on that song, only backup vocals and that line in the hook).

    I was born in 97 and my mum blasted 80's my whole childhood and this grew into a piece of me, same with Richard Marx - Right here waiting, they just became those hit's bcos of her, I used to refuse to like 80's until I grew up, I love 80's now 😂

    If Brad wants to hear more of that angel who's not completely angelic, you guys should react to some Susanna Hoffs' solo songs like "My Side of The Bed," "All I Want," "Unconditional Love," or the Bangles song "In Your Room." or, especially, her live cover version of the Bad Company song "Feel Like Making Love" as uploaded to the John Doe CZcams channel.

    I could listen to Susanna Hoffs all day. I was like 8 when this song came out and even at that age she her voice made me feel.....ummmm....things lol. Plus she was absolutely gorgeous and still is last I seen of her (2019). She was almost surely my first celebrity crush. Close second was probably Belinda Carlisle from The Go Go's, though I prefer her solo songs over stuff with Go Go's. You should react to one or 2 of her songs.
