Fully upgraded Fighting Knife is super busted. The regular combat knife can achieve pretty much the same effect, though it's a touch slower on the kill. Nearly no-hit all three phases, but phase 3 was just a little too tricky for me. Interestingly, despite Professional difficulty limiting parries to perfect parries only, it seems you can still regular parry Krauser in phases 1 and 2.

I love how Krauser stops calling Leon "rookie" and calls him by his actual name right before he died. With his dying breath Krauser acknowledged Leon's impressive combat skills and considers him no longer an amateur fighter.
I loved it when He always says power, also the face the mindset, slightly on the voice gives me the "Vergil Vibes" 😂

The one where he grabs your head? If so, when you see him pull his arm back then crouch. It makes it miss.

@@outlaw2747 No. Just as soon as he pulls his arm back, press the crouch button and wait until his arm stops moving and you can get off a small amount of free damage.

I have Krausers knife it’s a thing of beauty honestly. Just wish they used the more intimidating voice of the original voice actor for this role.
Sadly, James Ward, Krausers original voice actor, had to retire in 2021, due to being diagnosed with Covid and Alzheimer.

We could say that this is a reference to dmc3 when vergil says to dante "without power you can't protect anything, let alone yourself"
I think Krauser wanted Leon to kill him and "complete his training." However, Krauser still believes in the long term Leon would fail and be forgotten because his not willing to do anything to attain more power. It was a bitter sweet fight.
Because Krauser was broken like Sam from metal gear rising.

Krauser can deflect your gunfire back to you at higher difficulties. On hardcore and professional modes if you keep shooting him when he charges at you then he'll get out his knife and deflect a shot or two back to you. It doesn't matter what you shoot him with but the deflected shot will destroy a moderate amount of your armor if you have it and if you don't have armor then half your health

I really want to see Krauser come back with his arms back to normal.
i dont know why they make him two arms instead of OG just one left arm... He seems less mobile than in the OG. He was jumping all of the place in 2005.
@@yharnamiyhill787 He was a little smother in the original and had better sweeps. His old voice was deeper, rougher and more masculine than the new one. It used to pump me up because it was intimidating. This new Krauser makes me laugh, he's got no fear factor.

@@yharnamiyhill787 Yep, good call. In the original he was a real threat, had a motive of his own and was in control. He was also very confident and wanted to stick around and do his thing. In the remake, Krauser is unstable and just a victim who never really recovered from whatever happened to him. He seems lost.

Do you recommend parry on r2 enabled or only on L1? And any tips on learning perfect parry windows for professional?
I'm playing on keyboard and mouse so I bound parry is bound to both space and LMB. If I was playing with controller I'd probably just stick to keeping it on L1 (R2 is a trigger so you need to press it a further distance before you get the input, just my personal preference).
As for learning timings, Phase 1/2 Krauser is not as dependent on perfect parry timings since he doesn't seem to have the perfect parry restriction that Pro has for other attacks. Generally though, his knife attacks follow the pattern of drawing his arm back, a pause, and then the lunge forward, so try to parry after the lunge. For Phase 3, you ARE restricted to perfect parries only (or the window for regular parry is also somehow shortened) and I find him a lot harder to actually parry. The only attack in Phase 3 I can consistently parry is the one where he twists around and slashes sideways, and I use the visual cue of when his blade arm is 90 degrees from Leon. I then generally just try to avoid his lunge and upward slice (that's why I run around so much in Phase 3).
If you want to get really knitty-gritty, you could go frame by frame in this video and check when the knife icon is glowing gold to learn exactly when the perfect parry window starts (the [,] and [.] keys go back and go forward one frame when the video is paused)

How do you deal with Phase 3's grab and bitchslap attacks? Those feel so inconsistent and random for me.
If you see him move his left hand back, it means he's going for a grab. Simply duck to avoid the grab. You don't have to move at all, just duck when you see him pull his left hand back to avoid the grab attack.

tasty tasty tasty. any counter for his right arm head grab? it's the one that almost always hits me, and crouching doesnt 100% of the time avoid it
Try to be moving to the right when he does it. Typically he only does it after raising his arm to block, so when you seem him do that, just try to stay out of his range until he does something else. He will sometimes block -> grab very quickly so it's not 100% foolproof, but it's better than nothing.

Beating Krauser with a knife actually isn't too hard. Beating Krauser with a knife while making it look good is more difficult. I'll admit that it took a lot of practice to do phase 3 without using a healing item (Phase 1-2 are pretty simple to execute).
