They can't see each other well at all, it's hard to tell, but they can't see anything. They're just listening to where the voices of each other are coming from

And how can michael and William see each other, when it's pitch black? It would make sense for Michael since Williams computer is still on and working but, how does William see Michael?

These are definitely not useless questions.
So . . . William's computer doesn't use electricity to run first of all, he uses something else to run it (he also invented facetime, (which only William, Henry, and Michael know about).
William can't really see Michael, but he can hear him very well. He has very good hearing.
