I love this gun. My main character is heavy weapons, and I love the freshness of using it. I have an instigating, faster firerate one, +1 Agility. From stealth with 2x damage with a headshot I can easily do around 2000 damage to a full health lv 68 scorched.
So, I decided to pick up the Guass Pistol and give it a spin with the hardened receiver, suppressor and extended mag and I gotta say its a pretty damn good side-arm! Good ammo capacity allows you to almost spam uncharged shots in a pinch where if you need to be stealthy and charge up shots its quick and to the point too. Doesn't weight a lot like the Guass Rifle and actually does around the same damage. Would probably surpass the current Guass Rifle if they gave it a rifle stock so it'd use rifleman perk cards rather then the shoddy pistoleer ones. My rate? 7 - 7.5/10 Also great vid on the Plasma Caster! Can't wait to get my hands on one. Although I'm trying to push Raider Rep to the Guass Minigun
It literally is just a Gauss rifle that has a bigger mag and honestly that is perfectly fine with me Even if the Gauss “buff” to give them blast radius gives them a whopping 6 damage blast radius
I think plasma caster looks bad ass but I feel unless you get a bloodied or quad FF. There going to suck. I could not wait to get one then when I did I felt disappointed. My 50 cal out DPs it big time. Yes it hits like a hammer but it's slow to shoot and almost always reloading. Plus side of it is it's a hard hitter with no spin up and is accurate. Down side is your reloading it every 20 shot's and it's a slow shooter. Also there's a dead zone at point blank range.
I got a two shot, and it works fine if you treat it like a shot gun. It's not a DPS gun, it's something for one shotting dudes. I don't run bloodied or junkies and it still kills almost every regular dude in a headshot, which is decent enough economy for me. Like I said, it's a day to day gun, not a bosskiller.
Hey it's a fun toy and I'm sure once we get some better mods for it I'm sure it will be alot better. But right now I find it really not that useful it's ammo not cheap but it fills the same role as a gatling gun but the gatling can hold 500 shot's. What the need is a bigger mag mod maybe a charging or auto mod. The caster could be with some better mods a top tier weapon.
Mad that it doesn’t use Plasma Cores, as I had been saving up cores since I saw its reveal. 150 Plasma Cores now useless because finding a good Gatling Plasma is damn near impossible.

From what I heard SUPER DUPER does work with the crafting... SOMETIMES and when it does it usually takes the weapon you just built, copies the first legendary effect, and gives you a 1 Star legendary gun

ContractKiller Gaming I believe you must know a receiver plan to make it. That is to say any plan that uses that ammo specifically. You only get 60 rounds per set though.
@@user-pt4nw7lr7o I got lucky I got bffr 250 damage resistance while reloading second try it's a nice weapon one shots any super mutant. It's good with ammo conservation
better IMO the plasma caster just does more damage with a similar fire rate. the only problem is getting use to its fire pattern it sometimes shoots all the way off if you panic with this weapon its definitely a mid to long range heavy weapon
I am a Heavy Gunner Power Armor build and so I’ve always kinda wondered what was good for that kind of play style. I learned bloodied was the meta and I was immediately turned off from it as I’m not a fan of the whole low health all the time idea. Because of that my build is very PVE, which is fine I’m not a huge PVP person, but I’ve always wondered if there is an alternative to Bloodied
@@evanthedank554 The truth is with any solid build and a nice legendary, you can do anything in this game. I have a pretty standard PA/Hvy build with some decent, not crazy legendaries, and I can do anything except maybe solo the Queen. I've even done the A-pen in ProjPara. Haven't tried radRumble solo yet, but the point is, I don't feel overwhelmed by any content.

it makes more sense for it to use plasma catrages as it is the original plasma rifle but i also saved plasma cores for this weapon

I duped about 170 legendary modules had super duper procc over 50 times can confirm it does not work.

ContractKiller Gaming plasma caster has economy but g-mini has DPS. G-mini eats through ammo fast which is bad for general use but good for bosses.

i dont like the caster, for me the mag size is to small and the ammo type kills me. i stay with my ultracite gatling and blow my cores through.
How is it compared to Gatling gun? Not counting the clip size.

What are your recommended mods? Prime gives most damage of course but if you don’t pick that what would you say is best?
Depends on your play style. I probably would have picked the True Capacitor for the hip fire accuracy. The other two are very niche mods.
The prime is the best with bloodied, it allows you to do 557 of both damages and is able to one shot any super mutant it's very ammo efficient.

How do you get the prime capacitor?
buy it from the same guy that sold u the plans for the plasma caster, he sells prime capacitor plans for 200 gold in the vault

Shame though, this weapon is an iconic weaponry in both classic Fallout 1+2 plus New Vegas. But Bethesda used it for this terrible Fallout game...
