  • My review of the new Gruv Gear Kapsule Duo, designed for transporting two electric basses to a gig. A combination of a hardshell case and a gig bag, I get into the pros and cons of this new entry into the market.

Hey good stuff, does the neck rest detach? Im thinking of buying one but using it to travel with a single guitar but inside of a mono gig bag.

I do not think the neck rest detaches, but I honestly have never tried. It's pretty tight fit in there though for just a bass, so it might be tough to squeeze a mono bag in there. I have a Mono Vertigo bag and I don't think it will fit inside the Kapsule (if I wasn't out doing a run of shows right now I would actually try it to see).

No offense, but why would you buy a $400 hybrid bag just to stick another $200 bag inside? Stupid waste of money. You can buy an abs or flight case for $150-200 good enough to check any instrument, or if you're doing carry on just use the Mono. If you have $400 burning a hole in your pocket just send it to me instead.

@@EpictheEpicest Because Flight Cases weight a Ton, and cant really carry them around to gigs in your back like a Mono gig bag, and also because i already own a mono gig bag :)

@@daniwest1370 You should sell the mono. The only way I can rationalize buying a gig bag is if it’s partially shelled and holds two basses.
