About Dune:
A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence-a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential-only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

“I recognize your footsteps old man” CHIILLSS🤩🤯
I watched this with my girlfriend the first time and she interpreted it as him hearing Gurney again coming for him (as he said the line to him earlier in the movie) whilst I interpreted him talking to Shai Hulud itself.
@@jamesbell1186 I honestly believe that Denis wanting us to interpret it in both ways tbh. I knew he was talking about Gurney however I can’t help but believe he was also talking about Shai-Hulud 🙌🏽🔥
@@CinemancerFilms is shai an old man?
@@ingahan5820 in the book he is referred to as the Old Man of the desert, Shai-hulud, a Maker, sand trouts when they are small, and the sandworms
@@CinemancerFilms @inga han can be seen as both, but I saw it as a key moment in Paul's psyche and the start of his understanding and connection to his surroundings. Even on sand, he can sense Gurney's steps. Even though he's never seen a Maker, he can recognize it simply by their presence.... regardless, chilling and impactful scene.
Zimmer is a Dune fan. I'm seeing this.
@Mr. Miyagi he chose not to score tenet because Denis offered him DUNE and he loved DUNE so he chose it instead.
@@WhiteWolf496 thank you I was about to say the same
Ø yes
@Mr. Miyagi He literally said no to Christopher Nolan's Tenet only so that he could score Dune. That's not a small thing to do for a franchise you're not a fan of.
Indeed.
Music is a big part of what makes a movie work for me, and Hans Zimmer never disappoints
Very True, I love it and like u said music is big part ..but done well it makes the movie toghter whit shots a masterpiece and for this movie I'm hyped like he'll 👍 im definitely watch this in cinema
He's always a win.
So far with what has been released I can't say I've heard any thing that stays in mind much.
Most of the time. I can name one recent example where he disappointed: Wonder Woman 1984. But the whole movie was bad.

Shai Hulud 🙏🏽
That line was perfectly executed and placed 👌🥲
Guys we’re getting three, YES THREE, Dune albums!
Denis said Hans was still inspired even after finishing the movie so he continued to write music!
Was that said in the movie preview in the states on Wednesday?
@@TheRockinBK thanks bro, this is awesome!!!!
Fantastic!
i bet that means 3 films too, ik dune is going to be 2 parts.
@@reubenhamer2932 Honestly as long as they bring in money you could create a whole Dune Franchise. There are so many books and other material. You could do Dune in two parts, and continue with Children of Dune and make that into two parts. The first 10-15 minutes could be a recap of what happened in the second movie with Leto or another character narrating.
After seeing the movie, love how this was used to tense you up for the "worm". When the choir comes in however it makes you realize these are not just worms but the glory and holiness of "Shai-Hulud".
Perfectly analysed!
It’s not even a Snake or a Serpent. It is the Shai Hulud, period. Shai Hulud.
The Shai-Hulud are my favorite part of the whole book, ngl
Not to mention that 'burrowing predators' have become a fixture of sci-fi. The Sarlacc and Kyrat dragon of Star Wars, the Iceworm of Subnautica: Below Zero, they all have their inspiration in the spice sands of Arrakis.
Shai-Hulud, Arabic for “The Immortal One”
Didn't make me realize anything of the sort.
What is Shai-Hulud anyway, is that a book reference?
1:09 I got massive chills when I heard this part as Paul touches the sand of Arrakis for the first time and sifts the Spice through his hands while everyone else is frantically running around him.
Probably my favorite scene as well
Speaking of that clip, does anyone know where I can find it, I have looked and looked, but is was not posted on youtube
@@dragondotell701 yes, but it will probably cost you about 8 - 12 dollars

Zimmer has always been with Nolan but for Dune he left Tenet that shows his love for this film. Amazing.
And then Goransson stepped in and wrote a fantastic score for Tenet...
True! Extremely excited for this score, but hopefully Hans & Chris reunite for future projects as well!
He didn't leave Tenet to score Dune he simply chose Dune over Tenet for his love of the book.
It was meant to be. Goransson truly brought Tenet exactly what it needed...fresh, exciting, technical.
@@BeachBumZero True, I loved his work.. but I can’t say I don’t wonder how otherworldly it would’ve been to listen to Zimmer’s experiments with inverted music...

I think it unlikely that he'll even be nominated, unless Dune does well at the box office. Hollywood generally refuses to reward anything that doesn't make them money, unless it can be used to elevate their "virtue status". Dune has zero chance of doing the latter, so it had better make them money if it wants to get any awards!

Was fortunate enough to go to the IMAX sneak peek event and heard this on the big screen and just had to come back! That would be so sick
Thumpers are slower it would be cool tho
That's the first thing that crossed my mind! Even that thumper said to be very slow in its no. of drills so i think it'll be that.
Man Zimmers going for the accuracy with all the texture in the score🙌🏻
I heard another commenter say that this song probably played during the sandworm's attack on the spice crawler, but the first walk with the thumper would fit as well.
And the syncopated cracking drums are the musical stand-in for Freman footsteps. Gotta make them non-rhythmic to avoid attracting the worms.

A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct. This every sister of the Bene Gesserit knows. To begin your study of the life of Hans Zimmer, then, take care that you first place him in his time: born in the 57th year of the 20th century. And take the most special care that you locate Hans Zimmer in his place: the planet Arrakis. Do not be deceived by the fact that he was born on Earth and lived his first 61 years there. Arrakis, the planet known as Dune, is forever his place.

Zimmer choose Dune and refuse Tenet, that's the reason.
Tenet soundtrack is a masterpiece in itself. Listen to it...
He didn't refuse Tenet, he had his schedule packed before he was approached about it. If not for Covid, Zimmer would have had scored three big blockbusgters last summer, all around the same time as Tenet came out: No Time To Die, Top Gun Maverick and Wonder Woman 1987. And he also started to work on Dune very early on, and was most likely approached about Dune before Tenet, since we've known about the Dune production and Villeneuve's involvement for years now.
