      Hell, You can now take a 3 pointer a foot behind 3pt line and land two feet over it and the defender is responsible for you jumping horizontally instead of vertically.
      You can still hit big guys but breathe on guards and wings and they all hit the floor whenever they shoot.

      TBH I like more scoring when the games average like 105 or so points per team. Cuz honestly those low scoring 60-70 point games were not always the most fun to watch. Also the fact that teams are shooting more threes makes it easier to put up more points since 3’s>2’s. And besides if you look at playoff scoring there has been a lot more defense and actual real defense being played albeit within the soft foul and flopping rules of the NBA

  • @matthewrutters6842
    @matthewrutters6842 Před rokem +51

    I do not have the numbers in front of me, but I'm going to assume that the jump in injuries are largely because of non-contact injuries. The softer rules allow drivers to have more success weaving through traffic, and therefore there are more people possibly planting their feet at awkward angles. Plus, modern medicine allows those whose career would normally be cut short due to injuries stick around in the league longer. And those types of guys seem to be the ones who continually get injured.

    • @MrWillhnic
      @MrWillhnic Před rokem +2

      Actually, and this has been proven, players have more miles on their bodies due to AAU. Plus... they don't really focus on health like they should. No one is really "stacked" like LeBron and those guys in the 90s, etc. Having "meat" on your bones helps you avoid injury. Working out strengthens your ligaments, joints and all things athletic. America focuses on actual playing vs. fundamentals and working out. Think about it... MJ played 82 games even in when he was 40. He was DURABLE. Today... they aren't durable. They just play and hope.

      @@BooBooDaFoo330 No, that's definitely false, the skills have drastically evolved including athletism from the 60s till now. I still watch basketball from all the eras before and I can honestly say most of those guys wouldn't be in the league today and that's how it's supposed to be, it's evolution, they're supposed to take what the previous eras did and improve on that, get better. And btw, there were far more foul calls back then too compared to today, I always believed this watching both eras but then went to check the stats and right now the fouls are at an all time low, so that narrative has been a lie for some time now.

The game and talent has changed drastically, that's not my opinion, that's a fact. A role player back then isn't the same as a role player today. A role player today is essentially just a lesser starter, they can do a bit of everything, a role player back then literally was brought in to fulfil one maybe two roles at the very most and lacked in pretty much every other area.
      As for the stats, people are saying today is softer, they blow the whistle for anything, there is ACTUAL FACTUAL DATA showing the RIGHT NOW the number of foul per game is at AN ALL TIME LOW. That also is NOT my opinion, that IS a FACT.

So many low basketball knowledge fans blame LEBRON single handily for the way the newer is,when players don't MAKE rules,they follow or manipulate them. Players will cater to the rules in all sports. The NHL started having problems with flopping/diving. So you know what they did?
    They changed the rules. It’s really not that complicated.
    They added “embellishments” as penalties, AND more importantly, they actually started handing them out regularly.
    Players switched up REAL QUICK once they were hurting their team and getting embarrassed/ruining their reputation.
    It literally took like 1 season to fix the issue. All you have to do is just commit to actually calling it league wide. It’s not that complicated.
