- This install was a head scratcher but if you own a pre- 2008 GTI, A3,A4,TT,EOS or Passat pay close attention. You need a OEM borg Warner turbo. Our engine mounts on engines with timing belts are too big to fit the standard k04 turbo.

I have a k04-064..ul have to clocc it right while it's on the car..did mines my self..k04 fits fsi/tsi
You didn't have to modify the oulet pipe for it to fit, I got a 2010 2.0t tsi passat wagon with a dsg and I'm try n to find out If clocking the turbo will help with the outlet pipe, I also have the cts turbo muffler delete that's on my ihi k03 which looks like the bog k04 outlet but it might be alitte different
Hey bro. Im looking at potentially replacing my k03 with a k04 on my mk5 gti. My question is. Can i just straight replace turbos and go. Or do i need other bits to actually run the k04 on my 05 mk5 gti? Many thanks in advance 🤙🏼
Short answer is yes, at minimum you need
Upgraded high pressure fuel pump,
Audi s3 injectors
Upgraded front mount intercooler
High flow cat converter or down pipe.
K04 specific Ecu software
At least stage 2 DSG software.
Keep in mind this is the bare minimum. I’m going to link the next video where I go over all the parts I put of this car to get it to ab 350-360 hp.

@@Quattrogame_pro I see the same part with shipping on ebay for like 680. Comes with a few more pieces. I have no idea what all the extra pieces are for. Does the one you have need anything extra? Or could I take the old one out and put the new one in? I'll still need a mechanic. No way I could do it.

What about the waste gate actuator.? It’s going to be at an awkward angle and probably shorten the life of the membrane inside. I tried clocking the turbo but the angles just didn’t fit with how I wanted the car to be. I bought the right turbo so I have less failure points. Thanks for the info tho I’ll try it.
