- In this video, we show you our excursion called Wildlife in Spasski River Valley & Bear Search with Celebrity Cruises Eclipse. But they are all run by the residents of Hoonah Alaska, so if your on another ship it will be the same. We also give an in-depth guide to the port with a lay of land map to help you understand what this port will look like. After our excursion, the bus drops you off at the Historic Cannery area, where all the gift shops, restaurants, and museum of the old salmon cannery is located. This is where you can learn more about the history of this area and how important the salmon cannery was for the native Tlingit people. You can also walk along the rocky beach, and view starfish, urchins, and more wildlife! We ate the amazing Halibut fish and chips from The Cook House Restaurant, and half our group rode the green gondola back to our shipping dock, and the other half walked the nature trail back. Great capture of the eagle. The starfish is awesome. That food looks delicious! The gondola would be fun, but pretty sure jessie would say no. Too much like a ferris wheel lol. Too bad you didn't get to see some bear.
lol yeah my husband Curtis walked, with our youngest son back, they don't do gondola rides either, lol thanks for watching, we really appreciate you!
Stay close together in group to make the bear think there's bigger bear☺️
Falcon flying even in wet weather
What a beautiful place. That is amazing. LIKE 16. 👍👍👍
It really is!
I like the starfish!
Beautiful star fish! Thanks for sharing this beautiful place!
Thanks Mommy! lol, this was such an amazing port, never seen so many starfish before :)
well done, thumbs up 👍💪💥
Beautiful sharing ❤❤❤ 6:13
What a beautiful area. That bear tour was a great way to see the park. The eagle was a bonus. 😂
Thank you!! Yes the eagles were amazing to see. Wish we seen the bears but not this time... we will just have to go back lol
We’ve done tours before where we didn’t see the main event, but they were still good. 😂
great video as always
Thank you for the lovely tour. Have a lovely day 😊
Thanks so much!!
What a fun trip, thanks for taking us along! So much fun & beautiful things to see! Wonderful video & information ❤❤
Thank you Nicole for watching! Hope you and family are doing great!!! xoxo Melissa
What an adventure! I would be frighten to see a bear. It was a beautiful hike and maybe next time you’ll see a bear. Bald Eagle sighting is pretty neat.
I was a bit nervous as well, because grizzlies are no joke can be very aggressive. But none that day, thanks for watching!!
Alaska looks so beautiful - even in the rain! I am not sure it is a bad thing not to see bears. It would be cool to see some bears. But the idea of having to scare bears away doesn't sound fun. LOL> The historic canning museum/gift shop would be interesting. And I would walk back instead of taking a gondola. But the whole excursion looks like fun. Thanks for sharing it with us!
I was secretly a bit scared when they were explaining how close we could get to a grizzly, so I was sad not to see them from the platforms but glad we didnt run into any on the walk to the platforms, we were definitly in bear country...
You guys captured some great footage. The gondola ride looked like a lot of fun with some awesome views. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks John! This place was amazing, we love Alaska its so wild :) Sooo much wildlife!
alaska is so beautiful
yes it sure is!! 12345678!
Thank you for sharing such an amazing place❤
Thanks so much for watching!!
I guess it was too rainy for the bears? Seeing a bald eagle is always fun also. The starfish were pretty cool as well. I think I would vote for the gondola ride, as that looked like fun to me. Alaska is on my bucket list. I'll get there someday! 😊👍
I guess it was a bit too wet for the bears, lol. There we so many salmon running too, it was like a buffet of salmon in that river... oh well I will just have to go back lol. Yes Alaska is really the last frontier, I want to go and spend time on the mainland Alaska for like a whole summer lol, ahhh sorry I'm daydreaming again lol
Woooww I was just talking about taking a cruise to Alaska. I'm so jealous lol 😆. I'm glad you all got this experience. What an amazing place to visit and being able to enjoy the beautiful nature and wildlife.
Yall should totally take one to Alaska. Out of all the cruises we have been to Alaska is our favorite hands down :) I think because of the mountainous scenery and all the wildlife you get to see. Thanks so much for watching and commenting, hope your still doing good!!! xoxo Melissa
Very nice area to stay! Ooh chips 🍟 ah cool to geta free gondola ride up if you dont want to walk up! Nice to watch have a great week
Thanks so much, yeah the gondola ride was super fun!!
Great info thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Looked like a fun adventure. Too bad the bears were not cooperating. Reminded me of a Jurassic Park movie scene. There are actually dinosaurs in Jurassic Park right? LOL. Awesome that you still saw some wildlife. A little wet weather adds to the adventure too. Nice job on your video highlighting the area. Have a great day.
Thanks Steve, it was a bit sad no bears, but glad we didn't see any while walking through their territory 😊
I love seeing bald eagles better than grizzly 😂 Love your Alaska trip. Halibut and chips? looks so good. We've been to Alaska but hopefully one day we can return with our son. I enjoyed watching this, take care you all!
Thanks so much! Glad you have been!! Yes take Max someday he will love it :) Hope your weekend is going good!!
Shame you didn’t see a bear but looked a great day out to be fair Melissa

Hi Miss Adventures
I see this is continuous cruise ship trip from the last episode.
How long were you on the cruise ship?
Oh..rain as expected...we we all have to deal with.
Good spirits!
I am very happy you all had opportunity to see American Bald Eagles. haha I saw it in central FL as well. They are truly gorgeous large birds.
Any chance to see whales??
I am certain you had to book little excursions in advance.
Salmon fried and chips sounds delicious. I am a big fan of Salmon...
Hhaha I thought it is interesting to know you all were told to explore close together to observe bears..I believe it was safety. You supposed to make noise to let bears know you all are coming. I have black bears here in NC and see them often even in the college campus downtown. just keep distance...
Well, you all had a blast! I always enjoy your educational documentary. Look forward to next episode.
Bring your boys to central FL...
Thank you so much MS. K7s!!! Yeah I bet you see lots of bears like digging in your trash like that one video, lol. That would be scary I would have to say. Eagles are always great to see, a few fly over our house every now and again down here in FL :)
The Eagles are awesome. Too bad you did not see the bears.
Yea, sadly we didn't see any bears till we were almost out of Canda, on our last day in Canada we see one in Waterton National Park :) it was amazing!
