I picked this up at bass pro for $139 a week ago. It is my first bait caster and it’s been awesome. I have gone out with it every day since I got it. 1st day there was a lot of backlash learning how to use it. After the first day it’s been smooth as silk. I love casting and how far you can cast with the bait caster. Definitely going to be looking into more bait casters.

At first i hated the hook keeper being below the rod. Then winter came and i put my poles in storage and the rod socls went on and fit way better with the keepers below the reel on the handle.
I have the same one, but medium fast rod. Love mine.

That’s a wishy washy review man. Anyway. I’ve used mine for 4years now. It’s a quality product. Not high end. But definitely quality. Reel and rod both.

I have that combo also but I’d say the opposite is true I think the rod isn’t very good but the reel is definitely decent, I like Lews but yes their Mach line is overpriced for the quality you get, you can build a much better combo for the same price or less than you pay for one of any of the Mach combos
@InlineOutdoors . Watch out for the grooves that will form in the rod tip after about 3 years of use. Both my Mach Smash and American Hero casting combo had to have new rod tips. Lew's uses stainless steel inserts in those two but ceramic in Mach 1 and up.

I have the max pro but i was very upset that mine came with a 5'6 rod and its as solid as a baseball bat! 😭 there were no option for me to change that online either 😭
Who did you buy it through? That is a big bummer
@InlineOutdoors our big fishing store in Australia is BCF (boating, camping, fishing) 😭
Got it online and was super disappointed!
I got it after seeing all the American reviews on it and in all the videos people got a 7ft medium, heavy...... so when it didn't have an option....I just assumed.... 😭
