I love seeing people react to this song because this man never got the recognition he deserved from MTV, or radio as he should have. Yes, their music was out there, however, they came along too late in the era of the hair bands but, had they gotten their recognition in the early to mid 80's, most bands would've been behind them. Steelheart is so much more talented than the bands who received more recognition than they did. Thank you for appreciating them. Listen to the unplugged show they did because you will see that in a live performance, he was even more powerful in his vocal delivery. God bless.
Their debut album reached #40 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1990. “SteelHeart” sold 33,000 albums on its first day in Japan alone. Before long, the album hit platinum. “She’s Gone,” hit #1 on the international charts, staying there 17 weeks. The second single, “I’ll Never Let You Go (Angel Eyes)” reached #14 on the Billboard charts.
THEN THIS HAPPENED:
While touring for their second album, in Denver, Colorado on Halloween night in 1992, while performing Matijevic walked under an unsecured 1,000# lighting truss, which landed on top of him, crushing him face first into the stage. Matijevic suffered a broken nose, cheekbone, jaw, twisted spine, and traumatic brain injury. This screeched the band to a stop and took years of recovery and rehab.

The lead singer (Michael aka Milli) wrote this as a testament to his love for his then fiance and soon after wife. there are songs you like. and love. then theres songs like this that go into your playlist . his voice is otherworldly. hide your glassware.
He still singing amazingly today!

Yeah some people get all the luck. Godlike flowing locks and an angelic voice from heaven. Lol. Mili and the boys were phenomenal. Too bad grunge came along and stalled that style of music.
