It has a temperature warning system it is a whistle on the end of the coolant overflow hose. When overheated you hear a whistle. There is also a fuel shutoff on the bottom of the tank at the fuel outlet.

I put my gauges where the decals on the instrument panel .I rewired the alt,and used a Delco D10AC regulator.A snap ring moved on the shaft going thru the center of trans.due to a shallow groove keeping it from shifting.You may have to clean the passages in the shifter.

I just restored the same tractor😁That style work lamp on the fender will fit in the original headlamp buckets... you just cut off the mounting ears with a grinder
Awesome video , I just picked up a L345DT , same tractor just a 4 banger instead a 2 .
Fixed everything else BEFORE fixing the main transmission issue. 🤣 Some things never change.
I have an L1500. It’s not the best for its age. It’s always overheating and needs starting fluid if you wanna use it. If it’s used it’s a mower tractor.!
A lot of "one wire" alternators are what many call GM or SI style and they use 3 wires; battery, sensor, and excitor. On many applications you can tie the sensor and battery wire together at the alternator and the exciter wire usually goes to the ignition. On a gas engine it'll need a diode or light and diesels doesn't need it because there is obviously no ignition circuit.
Or just get An actual 1 wire!

There is a tap and you can close the fuel supply before you change 5the oil filter dear expert.
my yanmar tractor just has the dummy lights, which i tested to be sure they work which they do, then i went and changed the temp sensor and oil pressure switch to be sure those are good. as for charging i know that works because the lower the battery the brighter the light and as you increase the rpm the light gets dimmer till its charged.
Is not this alternator to powerful for that small engine?

I have the exact tractor and am rebuilding the engine, hopefully nothing else. Can you tell me where to found the mechanical tach/hour meter. I'd like to get the same one.
