I saw EPICA live in concert in England a few weeks ago, hearing Simone sing live was mindblowing

I am a big symphonic metal head and really enjoy NW, Within Temptation, Delain, Amaranthe....but for me Epica blows them all out of the water. Simone my gawd!! Great reaction guys...this is heaven man.

Hello! Finally some more Epica. 🙂 Did you know there's another collab between these two bands? This time it's a song by Apocalyptica. Their original song from a few years ago was called "Rise" and it was an instrumental. The new song is called "Rise Again" and this time it features Simone on vocals! Absolutely stunning voice, you really need to hear it! Oh and she looks incredible too. 🙃

Good reaction. Great performance by Epica and Apocalyptica. Was live at the concert. Goosebumps. Sadly it was the only song they did together. Epica was amazing, like always. Apocalyptica was great too. Thanks for this reaction.
For me, it's Simone's ability to be very delicate at the beginning of the song and then really powerful at the climax, and then dial it back to really delicate at the end that is truly impressive. Also, she just has a naturally beautiful voice, maybe the most beautiful I've heard.
First time I heard this song I was with friends at a get together. I don't drink any more ( medical reasons) so I was the D.D. for the night. Everyone was drunk and I was in charge of music. Everyone was getting pretty loud and crazy so I decided to put on a ballad. Somehow this song came up in my looking, so I said ok. I've never seen a get together go from crazy to silence in a blink of an eye! It's the old saying "music soothes the savage beast!"
Floor has an incredible voice, but Simone has always been my favourite.
You really should check out some of their music videos too. The quality they inject in there the last 10 years is phenomenal.
Storm the Sorrow or the skeleton key are but two examples.

I was waving one of the lights in this video. It was a beautiful performance. The entire show was amazing. Got to enjoy it pretty much from the front row. Apocalyptica were co-headlining the concert, so they played before Epica came on. In that regard, the mood was already kind of set. PS: The Omega Alive show had an acapella version of this song in the set.

I have seen yesterday this magnificent eye watering ballad of Epica live in Cologne Germany, I drove with my car 2,5 hours from my hometown in the Netherlands. Simone was out of the world again! But in Cologne Rivers was without the cello's, instead of that I experienced Apocalyptica Rise Again with Simone on fire!!! Simone still gets better with each year, she is so powerful now but still has that unique crystal clear soprano voice which i truly love, she is for me the best female vocalist together with Fabienne Erni of Eluveitie/Illumishade. Thank u for the great reaction! Oh and I was there too in AFAS Live Amsterdam hehe

I see you have checked some of the original masters of symphonic metal with Nightwish, Epica and Within Temptation.
Maybe you are missing the creator of this genre and one of the greatest composers of our time. This is the swedish band Therion (with its mastermind creator and composer Christofer Johnsson).
If you check for example the song "Schwarzalbenheim" especially from the live show called "Miskolc Experience", you can discover their level and also complete your repertoire of symphonic metal.

before the Rivers appeared with Apocalyptica, Simone sang the song Rise Again with them. And it came out very nice. I would really like an official live of Apocalyptica with Simone, they are currently on tour together and she has already sung Rise Again with Apocalyptica at several concerts. But the quality of the video taken by the audience is of course not at all the same as the official live with normal sound.
There is a acapellaversion of this song out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some days ago one from my ex-roomies, an old woman who nowadays is in an residence-hospital, she sent to me a link of a "chiquitita" cello cover. Well, I sent this song to her and her answer was: "so so gorgeous", and I replied: " ey, metallers we can do beautiful things, can you see-listen it?". But months ago I sent it to her so beatiful daughter (on my age) and she didn't comment it. Maybe because an metaller ex-junkie who is just surviving isn't enough solvent for her materialist-comfortable life or because metal music continues being demonized?? Hmm....I'm not sure, I'll never understand women's diverse minds neither their VOICES, because Simone's is so so tender and with the genius from Apocalyptica beside her it's..... Magical, so so incredibly magical (this adjective was what my metaller friends gave me when I sent to all them this linksong at the first time it appeared). So.........
Can't wait to be in the photo pit in my home town March 27.

Just so happens there is an A Capella version of this beautiful song. Just Simone and a back up choir. I would give you the link if I knew how to do it. It is on CZcams from 2021. Very easy to find. Great reaction guys! I love this song so much and there are so many great versions from the original music video to the live version from Chile that Epica recently dropped. The camera work on that one is stunning. Funny that Charlene mentioned her being able to do this acapella. They did in their Omega Alive livestream show. czcams.com/video/7geGtgjyQlI/video.html. Just gorgeous. But my favorite performance is from their 20th anniversary concert in Tilberg. Saw the concert via the livestream which was truly high quality video and audio. Hello, hear you talking about microphones and studio recordings, but do you know the most important thing of all is, SIMONE IS A GREAT SINGER. This is what Symphonic Metal is. Epica, Within Temptation and NightWish and all the great Bands from the scene reach or do better live as in the the studio. Epica and Within Temptation has a history about using Orchestra and Choir in their major concert. Within Temptations Black Symphony is the top in this.
