Most bizarre foal find

- things happen REALLY fast when they start to happen. We had a local security company stop at our house to say a foal was reported... its literally 'drop' what your doing and go Now, situations
its reported she was in this spot for 2 days!
which is bizarre in itself - because we go that direction often. Never surprises me where they can be hidding in plain site.
we were initially worried about the goopy eyes, and swollen face...the vet said
yes, unusual her eyes are gooped (there is an official word for this haha) but she nots concerned about the eyes at the moment.
we ended up picking off hundreds of wood ticks..and Im sure there is more!
she is slowly getting used to us, which is going to be a whole other life lesson..as she is very established as a feral horse for several weeks with her momma living in the mountains.
today has been ALOT for this baby, we are still uncertain why she was left behind, and we only hope this next few days she stays on the up & up ... we will be watching her like a hawk! and if she shows any signs of lethargy, swollen joints or her swollen eyes gets worse, she will go directly back to the vet clinic
Welcome to the ranch baby girl.
as always, we THANK all our supporters, your donation and love have helped another foal life.
Thank you all who have helped and are helping. This little filly is a lucky girl.
She has pretty blue eyes! Poor little girl. All those ticks probably won't be good for her overall health. You & Jordan are a God Send!
Not too unusual for young foals to have blue eyes...but I'm with you, LET'S GET THEM OL' TIX OFF!
Blue eye 💙🥰
Even with her being annoyed at you & Jordan picking off her tick, she already knows that you two are her new Mommy and Daddy!
With that one blue eye I think Skye would be a good name for her.
5:18 Look into those eyes. She's a keeper.
I thought the same thing! Blue eyes and that white face... keeper!
Y'all are superheroes in my book! She has beautiful kind, smart eyes, maybe she's puffy from a reaction to ticks?
She is another pretty one! After holding her, you better check yourself for ticks too. They are fast pests
Thank you for taking care of the feral foals.
Our pleasure!
Seems pretty docile after finding itself in a locker room...
Foals imprint on new caregivers pretty quickly. This filly is still a bit spicy but to me that's a good sign!
What a beautiful face, what a huge blaze, love it, I hope this one thrives❤❤❤❤
...and lovely pale sockies, so precious
Omg she's so awesome!!! Her mommy did take care of her. Thank goodness you got all those tics off and dosed her with meds💚💚💚 ideally mommy finds her! You are rockstars 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ticks. Tics are involuntary muscle movements.
She is so beautiful and well-tempered!! Thank you for rescuing this sweet girl 🐴❤🎉
She's a lovely little girl - glad she was found and thankful you can take care of her.
Eucalyptus oil is great for helping heal the tick bites. Great for 4 legged animals an 2 legged animals
May she stay healthy and thrive.
She looks like she was drinking water off that cement thing….she is beautiful!
Trying to. Poor baby.
She is a cutie!❤
That sweet baby knew you were helping her when you were at the clinic.
She is absolutely beautiful ! Thank you for rescuing her
May you have better luck with this one!
She’s BEAUTIFUL
She's a Rangerette ❤
Perfect name!
Retta?
What a quiet calm foal for never being handled before. Real smart
Jordan is an expert at ripping ticks off of this poor thing. Lucky filly.
see my top comment on this page regarding that
I hope this little girl makes it!🤠💕🐴
I remember a foal that color from your herd drone footage, it was laying down and the mother was not close.
Yes. I saw it too. Same color as Ranger when he was a foal. Same sort of circumstance too.
You guys are the best! Picking those nasty bugs off the little filly with determination.
I really hope she makes it. She’s already showing herself to be a smart gal.
Thank you for saving and loving the babies!!! ❤
She's a beauty. As you mentioned "Rangerish". Praying she maintains her health. Thanks for the post. 🐎 😊
Hydration, nutrition, pest removal,& support… will get this little girl on the way back to health… Thank you all for this rescue !!
My first thought when I saw her was she looked much so much like Ranger!! So sad to see her with all the ticks and goopy eye, but know she will get the best of love and care in your hands. Thank you for all you do.
Such a little beauty! Seeing her grown and riding would be heavenly. Bet she moves like a ballerina when trained.
Maybe her tick wounds are itching, now that the bugs are gone.
She trusts you which is vital
You took her to the Munchkin Clinic? The sound on the speed-up was so funny. Well, you guys (& helpers!) definitely racked up some angel points today! Lots of good people in the world, you just have to know where to look, & this is good place to start.
You must be born again of the Holy Spirit. It is not by works. It is through the faith that Jesus died for a sacrifice for all sins. He is the way, the truth and the life. Do not be fooled by works based salvation. Jesus was the ultimate pure sacrifice. It is done. Read Ephesians 2 8-10. God made a way. John 14:6. Time is short my friend. Jesus will come soon for his in the sky. Do not be misled by false gospels, your spiritual eternity depends on Jesus Christ the Saviour. Bless you. I know I got a little heavy there, but God put it on my heart. Bless you❤ call out to God for Salvation in g Th he Almighty name of Jesus Christ.. 🙏
What a beautiful foal! Glad you got those ticks off. What a tremendous work you do to rescue these little ones.
❤ she's gorgeous ... I really needed something to make my heart happy today.
Hi there the baby filly is very cute..Thank you all for saving her..❤ tc
We teach our calves to bucket feed by dipping fingers inti the milk and lowering our hand into the bucket so they suck fingers in bucket and hey presti done .
Hope your filly is as well as she looks
SHE HAS BEAUTIFUL COLORING WITH THAT WIDE WHITE PATCH ON HER FACE AND CUTE EYES.
She is beautiful
Well, if she is a couple of weeks old, hopefully she got Mommy’s good colostrum!
Ticks are the most disgusting insects. They have absolutely no value.
Will antibiotics help ward off tick fever or whatever those ticks are carrying?
You guys are pretty special.
Too many people look at the mustangs as range competitors.
Wulp, tickles are a tasty meal for opposums...
She looks so helpless … breaks my heart
Thank you for loving the babies!!!
So hungry! ❤
But she seems bigger and more "perky" than the last one .
Yes, I thought this might be a old video of Ranger, then checked the date. So many ticks on this baby. So glad you were able to rescue her.
She's so pretty. Praying that she is going to be ok
Such a pretty little filly with her blue eye! She seemed wholly unbothered by almost everything. I would think she would’ve been spookier than that. Especially with the dog barking! 😂
Very skinny. But deems fairly strong.
Wow. It must be hard for all wild animals to deal with ticks. So sad. Thank you for helping her. ❤
It would be nice to find momma but if not - she is safe and has love and a home - 🙏🙂
Ticks just suck the life out of animals, lethargic from ticks. Thank you 🙏
ugh, I loathe ticks!!! Best Wishes for this little one. Do they make baby bottles for horses?
They do make big bottles for livestock, we've used them for calves.
I'm actually getting the chance to try my hand with Orphans this year. We had a sad loss at work, and now it's kinda fallen to me, since the filly seems to have really taken to me.
I'm so excited to see how she progresses!
Best wishes to you.
This foal looks like the foal you videotaped with the drone. The one that was laying down and you were checking to see if it's mom was around. The similarity is striking. So glad you were able to get her and remove those awful ticks!
Thank you for everything you do for these horses.
Herr eyes are absolutely gorgeous
Beautiful little girl. I hope she will be alright.
Little little bit of soapy water in that pan, where you’re throwing the ticks will keep them from climbing out.
thinking rubbing alcohol instead of dish soap used to work too.
I pour a little alcohol into a leftover food can to drop the ticks into then just add a piece of lit paper at the end, Voila, Toasted ticks in a few minutes.
She's feeling the love. She just isn't ready to return it but she will
Tick pickin’ is no fun under the best circumstances. I’m so glad this beautiful foal is in your care, I hope she’s old enough to fight off any health issues she may have. Another loss so soon would be too much! Thanks for all you do to help these young ones. I don’t know if we’ll ever get answers as to why she was where she was found, but I look forward to hearing more when you have a chance to post.💕
Seeing her at ease riding in the back seat with you guys is precious! I know she doesn’t feel good but she knows you are helping her! ❤❤❤
It is wonderful to see your community banding together to help .
I hope this little filly does make it. She is the sweeties girl, and I love her color. Even the blue eyes.
Oh my gosh! Such beautiful eyes!
She’s a keeper!
Heartbreaking, Dear little foal separated from mum but a Joy you found her, what a big relief for her to have all those nastys taken of her body ❤️
She was so beautiful cause of her eyes are blue . It was so cute
Baby horses are so precious.
Bless you all for helping her ❤
I’m going to guess the ticks are common for wild horses 🤷🏼♀️
I pray she makes it ! I was heartbroken about the other little one
Me too...everything seemed to be going so well...I guess you just never know
She’s very cute and very definitely has the Ranger vibe😊
I hope you find her mum. But I know she will get lots of love and care from your family.
At this point, there’s no chance the mother will be found. If they did,it’s unlikely the Stallion would allow the filly back, sadly.
She's beautiful.
Her little face. So glad she is safe!!
Pretty filly❤❤❤
You two are the best you deserve a metal.
I'm praying she makes it poor baby having all those ticks . You guys are a true blessing saving these foals God bless 🙏 🐎
You are such gentle people. Guiding her to the bucket with patience. I learn so much from you
Seems like she would drink from a bottle and not a bucket. A bottle is more like drinking from her mom.
I think the bucket is practical, and it's one less step in her learning. She'll be using a bucket for eating stuff as an adult. The bottle is not like her mare either. It's foreign and not warm and hairy 💛. Bottles are a constant tricky hygiene task. Plus, a horse is way larger than a lamb or puppy - bigger bottle, nipple = more cleaning. I'd have trouble holding up a bottle to a foal every few hours, especially one as leery as this little wild child.
Shes blue eyed so pretty. Im so glad you went and got her home and took those ticks off.
Thank you one and all for helping her.
Amen! Great job😍
I love her face. Such a gorgeous marking, and with that one blue eye! She's a special one.
Ohh sweetheart
She has beautiful eyes. I am holding out a bit of hope that her momma is found. Thank you for doing your best to save them.
She’s so pretty! Love her blue eye!
Now I can’t wait to see her again !!! What a cutie pie !!! ❤️🐴
For ticks to get that big she'd be older than a week.
Ticks can suck fast--you'd be surprised
You guys a so wonderful to take on these babies. It is a hard job. Thank you for all of your efforts to help these babies.
You all are so amazing I just. Love you all.
Awwww, i hope you find her mother, poor baby😢
Omg. She is beautiful. In good spirits and alert ❤
Pretty little filly❤ Thank you all for rescuing....❤🐴
She misses her herd, I’m sure. You have so many horses at your place. They are her new herd. She just doesn’t know it yet.
How nice to get one that doesn’t have umbilical damage!
Back in my riding days, I used to use flea & tick powder on the inner thighs of my horse, around the groin area to keep ticks at bay. We used to trail ride and ticks were a real problem at times, depending on where we rode and the season in question. More on topic, here, I hope this little Filly can be saved and, ideally, her mother can be found.
How did you keep the ticks from getting on you?
Pretty, pretty baby! Look at that face - gorgeous!
I think she’ll do well. She’s definitely loved, and being well cared for.
This baby looks big! Prayers for her good health!
Poor little filly - can you remove ticks with your hands? Glad you helped this poor little thing.
Yes, you just have to be delicate enough to not pop them and/or leave their jaws in the skin.
its not safe to do this without proper gloves, if they bite you, you have lyme disease for life!!
We used to apply a tissue with distilled alcohol on it. The ticks reacted and popped off (heads intact) and we'd get 'm and kill 'm
Thanks for all that you do. Lets hope this one is a success .
God bless
Beautiful baby 😍glad you were able help her, with her problems 🤩💯
Good luck little girl!
I hope you and that baby feel better real soon!
