Magician Notes
So I was first told about this trick by a magician friend (‪@mike2600‬) and discussing tricks in which required a specific sleight (Jordan count). At first I thought that you really didn't need it in this trick, but as you may be able to tell, I still ended up using it because after some experimentation, I think the trick is just more elegant with it (the displacements would be more cumbersome and less convincing IMHO). The version of this trick that I saw was using 4 Jokers to remove the discrepancy, but then that made it not really impromptu and I figured you could use a 4-of-a-kind for that. Then, of course, I was wondering if you could ensure that the mates paired up with each other. So naturally, that lead to this. The original also used the card box, but I was thinking how cool it would be if the spectator could see into the card box the entire time (thus- clear "magic container" time!). So here it is... and this is what you get.
