  • Here we see video from some years ago (and recently). These former pathway steps and handrail once gave access to Broadstrand Beach far below on the north-east tip of Hillsborough Nature Reserve. Any segment of coast can crumble at any time, most likely on or around heavy or prolonged rainfall which can saturate and weaken soils and rock forming slopes, increasing the potential for a landslide. There are no signs of voids in the ground or any current falling stones at the time of visit which shows some stability, but more will likely fall in the coming years.

Another of these places you think will always be there but cease to exist overnight.

Looks like the path was soil sitting on a slopping rock shelf, surprising it didn't slide off sooner. Confused by the reference to poles / Polish Explorer. Is this reference a joke of some sort, round our way we call them posts (can be round or square section, poles are exclusively round, normally a grown timber)

No worries, all looking quite dangerous now, actually thought you were gonna walk off the edge in your video.

I fell off a cliff recently while exploring and ended up in hospital. I was so lucky I didn’t paralyse myself. Please stay away from these locations they are so dangerous. There are plenty of flat, beautiful areas that are much better suited for walking.
