They sell cartridge cleaner too, we used to sell a lot of it. But I used to tell a lot of my customers, to use a 50/50 vinegar and water solution in a tall bucket and soak the cartridge for a couple of hours. It will really deep clean it.
Can someone please tell me if I should feel suction? It seems only logical, but I don't feel one ioda of suction, but water is barely flowing from the return side enough to create a few bubbles.
@@bambambowerman7800 Above ground pool pumps have so little power that a dirty filter can greatly affect the performance. If you remove the cartridge and run the system and see that your suction and return flow are greatly improved, you know your cartridge is dirty and restricting flow.
Well my filter wasn’t even that dirty , but I followed your video, and it worked! You know we didn’t have any instructions on how to do this. Only how to out it together. Glad I watched it because now I have a good flow again.
Thank u so much couldn't figure out how to change filter without water flowing everywhere ur the 1st n only video I found that helped me thank u so much
Wow that really worked. I didn’t think our filter would be that dirty since we only had the pool for a month but the filter was covered with algae. Cleaning off the algae and the pump is now pumping water again.
Mine was doing the same thing and the hoses were connected wrong at the pump. The hose that’s supposed to go on top was at the bottom and the one that was supposed to be on the bottom was on top. Once I switched it, it started working again! Thank you!

I have this same pump but for some reason the inlets to suck the water to the pump don’t pull even the smallest debri in the water. Anyone else experience this ??
Can somebody please help. We cannot get a clean pool. Its always absolutely gross despite all the chemicals I add. When untwisting the air flow valve water goes all over and does NOT stop. Same for changing the cartridge. In his video no water comes out of that top at all. How do you get it so water doesn't go all over? I bought a Skimmer basket as well and that doesn't work as well. What am I doing wrong?
I did the same but I learnt from Another video and this one that you have to pick the pump up higher than the pool and it won’t overflow. Tricky to do one handed so better if someone can help.
once you lift the pump, water stops flowing through it. Its a workaround to shutting down the pump entirely. Just keep it elevated while you're working, or else water starts flowing out of the pump.
@@johnny0723 will try. Thank you so much! Not sure why the jet is not pushing the water like yours. Checked the filter and uts clean and no air either. Either way appreciate your help!
@@izik6894 okay, I do exactly as shown in the video....done it manny times and never had issues. I just make sure I lower it (lower than the outlets from the pool) and let water overflow the top valve before tightening it....then plug it back in and it works like a charm. Good luck!
So what if your filter is brand new, and the pump is still not producing a stream of water? When I open mine it's filled with water. Could that mean that hose placement is wrong
I don't have this pool anymore but you can see in my video the hose placements....keep in mind the height placement relative to the pool...put the pump on the ground to be sure, vs elevated.
My pump doesnt have a filter(didn't know it needed one🤦🏽♀️.) Anyhow, it's been running fine and just suddenly stopped running water the one of the hoses. The other two hoses get filled, but the other one has air. The pump is running, but not pumping. I tried what you did(minus pump but it didn't do anything.) When pump is on ground there is no water in it. I pour water into pump and it empties but doesn't refill...any idea what's happening?
Did you try loosening the small air cap on the pump, putting it on the ground for water to flow, wait for water to spew out from the air cap, tighten it…now plug it in and try again? Also you may have to hit the reset button on the power plug head. Also try another appliance in the AC outlet to make sure the outlet is good. Good luck and let me know. I just set my pool up again this year. Almost full of water 💦
By the way you said you have a filter inside the pump??? You should buy one or else there is no point in plugging it in. You’re just sucking in water and spitting it out without filtration. I think there are plugs included in case you don’t want to use the filter.
@@johnny0723 i don't have a filter in the pump because i was using the pump just to circulate the water so it isn't stagnant. Once it stops raining over here I'll check it out.

@@johnny0723 the pool was just put up about a month ago. It's a little lopsided and the hose kinda hangs awkwardly from the opening like it sags. I read that the suction won’t be strong , I can’t really feel mine… it’s as a safety precaution for children/ long hair but the force should be on the blow out- which doesn’t always happen for me With this pump it’s forever going slow or nothing at all!
@@nmil2944 thank you for responding! Yes, I kind of wondered if It was a safety precaution, but I did expect to feel at least a little bit of suction. Turns out the issue was having air in the line.

Hi how do you keep your water so clear ? Do you use chloride in your pool ?

When I open the pump it’s full of cloudy water, is it not filtering properly?
Is your pool water dirty? If not, is your filter in good shape or rotted out? I’d start with those two.
