Agreed. I remember when that fight happened with Paulo Filho I thought it was bullshit that he didn’t still get that title after the win. It’s supposed to still be a title fight for the guy who made the weight, just not the fighter who didn’t. That being said, I don’t remember if that was the rule in 2008 or if the WEC just did their own thing.

He's a bad match up for khazmat I thinking you guys know this .. optics are he can beat izzy easily and someone he has no choice to bang with optics are he'd lose . I think the muscles weight cut " he would need to beat everyone at 185 or 205 he wouldn't be able to make 170 ever . He looked bad physique wise up and into the burns fight.

Yeah, honestly he’s the dude you want your son to be the way he carries himself. The guy is remembered as one of the best promo cutters / trash talker but he never swore. Has stayed married to his wife and spends time with his kids. Yeah he fights on occasion but we’re all human.

This brings back memories that I want to forget, and the reason why I stopped having favorite fighters. Chael beating Silva up for 4 and 3/4 rounds, GNP against the cage, then getting submitted in Silva's triangle. I was actually sad after the fight and vowed to never invest in a favorite fighter again. 😄

On the point of Khamzat "catching" guys but not "catching" Burns, I've spoken to this before and posed a question that nobody gives me a straight answer to. First and foremost, if you don't understand how phenomenal of a grappler Gilbert Burns is, see yourself out of this conversation and go do your research.
If you do know how phenomenal of a grappler Burns is, my question to you is: if Burns was ANY LESS of the grappler he is, would he have survived that first grappling exchange with Chimaev? I just want to point out something that should be considered. Chimaev had ZERO hesitation engaging in a grappling exchange (dry and fresh) with a guy as high caliber as Burns. Think about how damn good you have to be to be that confident in your grappling.
Burns is one of the best grapplers in ufc right now that's the truth. Chimaev had zero hesitation at first but he didn't do it again because he was worried about the exchange. If you look closely gilbert had an armbar setup and chimaev recognized it right in time and didn't want to grapple anymore with durinho that much. That's the pitty I would like to see more grappling exchanges with those 2 beasts.

@@Zach-lv5qs Yes it was after chimaev stunned burns with jab first round roughly 0:41 sec remaining. Khamzat showed awereness and pulled the arm back but believe me, if he would have been a half a second late It would have been dangerous.
