Originally I had the take that it was nothing more than a distraction and a way to gatekeep the 6th builder but I started coming across content on CZcams from creators like AshJer and I began to appreciate the skill involved with playing builder base at a high level. It’s a completely different style of attacking from home village and while I don’t think it should be compulsory to be effective in your home village I think it’s definitely a positive for the game overall.
All I use the builder base for is the Gems mine and the builder. I am a 100% free to play town hall 13 player so the gems mine is something I really value

I find builder base to be super fun. It rewards players for using different strategies and not just spam like ladder, you find yourself using multiple different approaches, however I think this “more skilful” approach really puts off builder base for some, becasue of how technical and hard it can become. People need to give it a try, it’s really fun.

It is annoying because I constantly face BH10 players who have max troops, however trophies aren’t important to me so I still find it fun, I don’t care if I defend or loose trophies, it’s not fun to gain or loose trophies and defend, it’s fun to attack.
That and allows us to get gems from the gem mine, gear ups for main base defenses, and the 6th builder. If it didn't provide any of these, no one would bother about the builder base

If there have been builder base wars there could be so called "great war" where clans could compete 1st day on regular base regular war, then 2nd day builder base war and on 3rd day clash on each others capital halls. That would be so cool
Builder base makes clan games soooooo easy though. Take destroy x amount of archer towers in builder base. Attack, drop all baby dragons, and force close the game rinse and repeat.
upgrades don't take that long, it's just that you need to attack 100 bases (at least in my trophy range), just to earn 3 million elixir, even if you had 5k trophies, you'd need around 50 6 stars, it's just insane, the only way to actually get bb resources is through not playing it via raids or runes...
I cant express the frustration enough with losing trophies sometimes. I worked so hard to get 6 stars for weeks to get to 3500 trophies. As soon as i had a bad day and was getting 4/5 stars instead, I lost 200 trophies. No matter what I'm more often than not losing 50 trophies per attack. The walls are the literal worst to upgrade
totally agree with this video, at the beginning i found the builder base quite fun and a new way to play CoC, but after some months i almost forgot it's existence and juste keep playing it for 6th builder
The 6th builder and the 1000 gems for reaching 3000 trophies are the only reasons to play for me now. While I did appreciate the gameplay and how you can change troops depending on the situation, spam genuinely works most of the time and progress is far too dependent on your opponent. You could do everything right and get 200% and will still get like 5 trophies with no loot. By builder hall 7 you feel broke all the time especially since most of the upgrades literally take up more than 2/3rds of your max storage. The bonuses for winning are horrible. They should at least be 100-200K.
They can pull more ppl to Builder Base by introducing Buider Medal or anything like that to active Clock Tower for both Village and buy some magic item. Add ore to star bonus just like the home village, ore mine. Finally reduce uprading cost and time.
It honestly puzzles me why people say that builder base is boring while basically rushing through the whole game mode. The normal village also sucks if you just upgrade all the way to th16 with lv1 defenses and then just focus on heroes.

I do wish the upgrade times were far shorter, as you only have 1 builder half the time (and 2 at max) not to mention if you are gearing up in the main village. Also the currency and trophy system is flawed. Unlike the main base, the trophies gained and lost is equal no matter who your opponent is. The opponent could be builder hall 10 and you builder hall 5 and you would be treated as equals. So as you mentioned, the only way to progress efficiently is to purposely drop a huge amount of trophies, and then grind for an eternity just to buy an upgrade which takes an eternity. I also wish that the star bonuses had a more exponential amount of loot gained rather than linear. The 6th builder, gem mine, and gearing up is really the only practical reasons to play builder hall.
Ngl the rework made it much less enjoyable and far too complicated. The joy of the builder base was having a smaller home village like the lower town halls, but now we get overwhelmed with 2 stages and troops having hero abilities you have to micromanage. After unlocking the 6th builder all you can really do is max out your gem mine and clock tower to at least get some benefit.

The true issue is that there is very little incentive to push up other than to upgrade walls when you max out everything else, as in Diamond League, you don't lose trophies for not attacking and can just sit there and do attacks any time you like when you feel like it. Legend League is boring and tedious but Diamond League is literal nothing

Noticed there's no spells as well, maybe incorporate spells like the one slot ones, come up with Builder base exclusive troops like they belong in that part of the builder base world. If the builder base wants to maintain these small battles, they gotta immensely bump up the amount of loot we get from collecting, and what we receive from attacks and defend.
I think the issue with the BB is that it tries to be a very competitive mode while keeping the grinding mechanics of the home village, except the grind is directly tied to your performance. Coupled with the very high prices of everything in BB, it creates a weird situation where you'll need to play it a lot to get anything done, and messing up even a single attack can potentially mean you lose a lot of trophies, reducing the resources you'll earn. Also, the resources extractor are a joke in BB

Ima be wiping up a python scrip to automate bulder base to farm elixer (and gold) as clsh in now out on PC. This will save me lots of time but is kinda sad of how grindy this part of clash of clans has become.

The only problem with Builder Base is that at higher level, it is very hard to 3 star a base. For casual player like me, I can't alway plan my attack. They could add a additional army slot so that it becomes easy for us to atleast 3 stars. But coc will always prefer pro.
I never fight in the main base because I must wait for troops to build, so I can't just launch clash and play ahainst players, because the game timekeep me. And even if I wanted to, its' kind of useless. It's been a month, and I never actually needed to fight against people because my gold/elixir generation is enough to build everything I want.. The builder base remove this issue. I can play as much as I want, without losing anything. I really like it.
It's simply to big, it's like a homebase 2.0 where you need to put alot of time into to max it. Maxing your homebase at higher townhalls already takes alot of time so who wants to do that twice. Builder base should be small with not more than 10-15 buildings at max
one of the biggest sins of the builder base are upgrade costs i usually like to upgrade everything before the hall, but due to these costs it is SO FUCKING HARD! practically everything cost around half of your max reserves or more! troop upgrades, defense upgrades, hero upgrades all of them do that. but BY FAR the biggest sinners of this are the walls, oh GOD the walls: in builder hall 5 each wall costs 150,000 gold. this is A TENTH of your MAX reserves at that level (max is 1,500,000 at BH 5) so you can only upgrade 10 walls from level 4 to level 5 (you hear this correct, that 150,000 cost is only for the LATEST LEVEL of a wall) and you have around 110 walls in that level! you need to fill your reserves 11 time JUST to upgrade all level 4 walls to level 5 in builder hall 5! this DIDN'T take into account upgrading, ANY of the defenses, ANY of the troops to GET the gold, ANY of the walls to level 4 nor the clearing of ANY object!
I still have a problem with gold in bh3 its impossible to get the third camp just to have a slight chance to 1 star a base with defenses impossible to get without dying
I maxed both builder base heroes and all the troops it took way too long I’m working on the defenses now and it’s a slog. The times really need to be reduced
I'm on the same boat. I liked having a single base to upgrade. Once they split it, i just haven't touched my base at all. My goal to max BH9 ended prematurely because of the split.
They just introduce these ores right? why make it reward from star points from Builder base battles? So attract more players into it. Pushing trophies suck and upgrading walls is a nightmare! thats why as a FTP player i use raids medals to buy wall rings so i can focus upgrading my base rather than walls. Looting in Builder base is different.
I’ve seen other point this out but are you using ai to generate scripts? Or is English your first language? I’m saying this because all your statements use matter of fact language that never use anything of substance. I’ve been working alongside ai text generators to be able to tell them apart when correcting others answering to writing prompts. So I know a decent amount on the structure ai would use to create answers to prompts and one of the huge red flags is the use of grammar. The grammar used in your language is varied mix of formal and colloquial English that makes zero sense at times. And this use of varied tone of English sentence to sentence is not common at all and is actually thought out of speakers learning English.Not saying you are using ai because people who don’t speak English as a first language make these mistakes to but I felt like I needed to point it out
I have a problem with no one complaining about the loot. My current upgrades are at 3.6 million. If I manage to get 6 stars in every single attack, I would need 78 attacks for a single upgrade. Multiply that for each building and troop, i would be needing to attack about 2,900 times for all upgrades if i get 3 stars for every single attack. Needing to attack over 3,000 times for all upgrades to go up a townhall is absurd.

In my experience, once you upgrade all the traps, there is a shortage of gold.
Ive actually always fully committed to every builder base battle and it took me 9 months to get the 6th builder.

I think tjis mode was made for Clan Games and quick spam attacks. Now Hero Potion and Power Potion are useful for max army attacking experience.
Supercell should add a Clan Wars to the Builder Base.

what is annoying is the amount of time needed to amass the resources to even begin the builder upgrades

The only problem with Builder Base is that at higher level, it is very hard to 3 star a base. For casual player like me, I can't alway plan my attack. They could add a additional army slot so that it becomes easy for us to atleast 3 stars. But coc will always prefer pro.
The thing is they have to. If U can easily 3 star a base, both players will always draw and win. Thus making the league system very quick.

It takes way to long to gather loot and upgrade buildings in builder base. Stuff is to expensive
I never fight in the main base because I must wait for troops to build, so I can't just launch clash and play ahainst players, because the game timekeep me. And even if I wanted to, its' kind of useless. It's been a month, and I never actually needed to fight against people because my gold/elixir generation is enough to build everything I want..
The builder base remove this issue. I can play as much as I want, without losing anything. I really like it.
Once I get the 6th builder, I'll only use the gem mine. Also clan games

It's simply to big, it's like a homebase 2.0 where you need to put alot of time into to max it. Maxing your homebase at higher townhalls already takes alot of time so who wants to do that twice. Builder base should be small with not more than 10-15 buildings at max
one of the biggest sins of the builder base are upgrade costs
i usually like to upgrade everything before the hall, but due to these costs it is SO FUCKING HARD!
practically everything cost around half of your max reserves or more! troop upgrades, defense upgrades, hero upgrades all of them do that.
but BY FAR the biggest sinners of this are the walls, oh GOD the walls:
in builder hall 5 each wall costs 150,000 gold. this is A TENTH of your MAX reserves at that level (max is 1,500,000 at BH 5) so you can only upgrade 10 walls from level 4 to level 5 (you hear this correct, that 150,000 cost is only for the LATEST LEVEL of a wall) and you have around 110 walls in that level! you need to fill your reserves 11 time JUST to upgrade all level 4 walls to level 5 in builder hall 5!
this DIDN'T take into account upgrading, ANY of the defenses, ANY of the troops to GET the gold, ANY of the walls to level 4 nor the clearing of ANY object!

I maxed both builder base heroes and all the troops it took way too long I’m working on the defenses now and it’s a slog. The times really need to be reduced
I used to like it but It became boring and then kinda bad after the update.
I'm on the same boat. I liked having a single base to upgrade. Once they split it, i just haven't touched my base at all. My goal to max BH9 ended prematurely because of the split.

Pushing trophies suck and upgrading walls is a nightmare! thats why as a FTP player i use raids medals to buy wall rings so i can focus upgrading my base rather than walls.
Looting in Builder base is different.

I’ve seen other point this out but are you using ai to generate scripts? Or is English your first language? I’m saying this because all your statements use matter of fact language that never use anything of substance. I’ve been working alongside ai text generators to be able to tell them apart when correcting others answering to writing prompts. So I know a decent amount on the structure ai would use to create answers to prompts and one of the huge red flags is the use of grammar. The grammar used in your language is varied mix of formal and colloquial English that makes zero sense at times. And this use of varied tone of English sentence to sentence is not common at all and is actually thought out of speakers learning English.Not saying you are using ai because people who don’t speak English as a first language make these mistakes to but I felt like I needed to point it out

I have a problem with no one complaining about the loot.
My current upgrades are at 3.6 million. If I manage to get 6 stars in every single attack, I would need 78 attacks for a single upgrade.
Multiply that for each building and troop, i would be needing to attack about 2,900 times for all upgrades if i get 3 stars for every single attack.
Needing to attack over 3,000 times for all upgrades to go up a townhall is absurd.
Most people will probably rush to bh9 for bob then forget about it untill theyve maxed out home village
