  • In this video I compare several Pelikan fountain pens, such as the Pelikan 140, M120, M200/250, 400nn, M600 and M800.
Since I bought a Pelikan M200 at a pen show, I've been a big fan of the brand. They make great pens at decent prices (especially if you hunt on German eBay for some deals) and they always look amazing.
    Thanks for watching this video.

I've not yet tried a Pelikan but I think I like the M600 best. Thank you for another excellent video!

Just now discovering your channel. Very nice reviews. Pelikan is my favorite brand of pen. The pens are well made and, in my experience, very satisfying writers. One advantage is that it’s easy to swap nibs, which makes a single pen versatile. I own lots of Pelikans (too many!) - both vintage and modern. My favorite model, for size and function, is M800. I know what you mean about the intimidating size of the M1000; but the nib is amazing - soft and smooth, with generous flow. It’s worth trying, if you can tolerate the size.

Hello! I am eyeing my first Pelikan and it is the violet Souveran 600. My hands are small but love larger pens. Although I haven’t had much experience with writing extensively with one (the largest so far is one of those artisan fountain pens made from hand poured alumilite that is so popular on Instagram). I saw in one of the comments that you would consider your hand to be small to medium. About the white tips of some of these piston filler Pelikan, do the white stains as it has to dip into various ink every time?

I think the m600 would be a good fit for you based on your comment. The m600 hasn’t really stained, as it’s pretty easy to clean. Just be a little wary of red based inks. They’re always harder to clean.

Hey, I was checking out your video to see which size I would like and wondered what the size of your hand might be. I have no clue if my hands are normal in size

Jeongmin Hyeong I would say medium to small. I can use a kaweco sport unposted. Hope this helps.

For the cost, Pelikans just disappoint all the way around....
