Iggy taking a piss on the hall of fame while still being appreciative and calling out the real spirit of music is amazing. Then getting undressed casually and hanging around like a kid. Iggy, you’re cool

I positively LOVE Iggy Pop. The Stooges were an amazing band and hugely influential on music then and still now. Their fingerprints are all over hard rock, punk rock, grunge and so on. My garage band back in the late 70's when I was 13 would play Search and Destroy, and not very well at that.

I swear that seeing Iggy getting amped up ready to play and then playing to a crowd of people that look like they'd turn to salt if they moved, is one of the most punk rock things I've ever seen.

no honorable mentions of the bassists who filled in for Dave.
the original line up cannot be fucked with, period.
raw power line up is legit, because obviously James wrote a bunch of great tunes. Those tunes would be nothing like they are without Ron & Scott on those recordings.
Those bass parts are the TIP TOP.
    Drums too, perfection.
Anyone else on that record, it would not even be called a Stooges record.

i do not consider those other bozos STOOGES...definitely not the fill in bass players who sounded like bass karaoke...THEY NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO BEGIN WITH
Line up changes? Firing Dave is not a line up change, you cannot fire rock n roll. I say Dave was done being in a band with Jim acting like he was in charge. James wrote amazing tunes for Raw Power album, he & Jim are lucky it occurred to them to call Ron & Scott. It would not be a stooges album otherwise & people probably would not care about it, it would be an entirely different recording. Ron & Scott invoked Jim & James & vice versa

    • @crypttonite

funhouse in everyway RULES, but they made the studio sound like practice compared to Goose Lake. That is the best recording ever, period end of sentence.
Perfect in every way, the parts where you can only sense what Ron us doibg, sax perfect druns insane, bass is perfect too especially on DIRT, intro to dirt is hilarious.
      the people in my world
& Ron’s bass playing on Raw Power Album is the tip top ever of all time.

Not talking about Steve OBVIOUSLY-he is not one of the bozos, talking about the bass players after Iggy fired Dave aka rock n roll. You can’t fire rock n roll.
A lot of Ig’s persona, he took from Dave.
