The Yamaha MX49 Version 2 Synthesizer 49 Key Edition proves that “cheap” just means “budget friendly”! This fantastic keyboard workstation makes a stunning addition to any professional level set up but sits firmly in the beginner and intermediate price bracket.
You have an arsenal of Motif XS sounds at your fingertips, all wrapped up in a highly portable, lightweight yet full-sized keyboard workstation.
This is one of the best keyboard workstations for iOS users and those who enjoy making music on the fly. The iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch audio/MIDI compatibility means you can utilise a full studio’s worth of sounds anywhere and at anytime via the Yamaha FM Essential Synthesizer and Steinberg Cubasis iOS apps. This means you have 1000 Voices built in, including realistic acoustic and electric pianos, orchestral strings and drums and you can access them anywhere and at any time!
The 49 full-sized velocity-sensitive keys can be used to full effect and your sounds respond beautifully to the dynamics of your playing. In addition, you have a world of effects at your fingertips including Phaser, Flanger, Wah, Vintage modeling, Reverb, Delay and 16-Part Multi timbral and 128-note polyphony.
Watch the video and see why we think this is one of the best keyboard workstations around!

You should probably start 'smaller' if you don't know the answer to these questions.
In short, yes, you use line out (either stereo or L/mono) and capture/send midi from your DAW. Headphone outputs do exactly as they say, the circuit and resulting output is set up for headphone impedance ranges.

    "nifty little blue keybored"
so for $600 USD (low end) you get a plastic keyboard it has some great preset sounds with such high fedality that playing back cool sounds is as easy as pressing a button great for the stage or parties and also works well as yet another input for your PC(its best feature) but as for ORIGINAL sound creation beyond factory made presets the yahamah mx49 is severely lacking (but that wasnt a selling point)(its only $600) on the mx49 the amazing preset sounds are kinda unshape-able should you find a sound you like on the mx49 you real cant shape it any, so is this a full Modern Sythizer, like the ones that currently saturate the market, the kind with sound genoraters and shapers? NO ITS NOT! is it a nifty little tool to have around YES very much so
