Maybe you're mistaking "government" cheese for American cheese which is quite disgusting and not even cheese, but the cultured cheese product known around the world as American cheese (a processed form of Cheddar) is highly regarded and tasty.

@@SourBogBubble The staple cheese of a grilled cheese is American cheese, because it's designed to melt. Cheddar doesn't melt as well. I've tried it because I love Cheddar. American works better.
Also, the cheese she has in this video isn't actually American cheese. It was some kind of vegan cheese. American would be much softer.

the best american cheese is Kraft Deluxe dont eat the kind that is indivudually wrapped. its just a softer Cheddar Cheese without a strong taste
