maaaan more people need to hug and celebrate with the dad. it’s not just the moms child 🙃 Read til the end people who are judging the dads expressions for girls:: People, my dad wanted to abort me at first, but then after some thought, really wanted a girl and was upset when my mom told him it was a boy, as a joke. Because they already had a son. Yeah you should be happy whatever the gender ends up being, but i know lots of people who have 2 girls and want a boy or vice versa. You don’t know these peoples lives and how many children they already have. People who already have a boy or girl tend to be more excited about having the opposite gender. And people who have all the same gender might want to only have that one time and time again, but in the end they will love it no matter what so that’s all you should focus on and not be so quick to judge their expression when even though the mom is jumping around and the dad is standing there smiling, they can feel the exact same way and just show it differently. The dads who end up with girls and just smile can be feeling the exact same way as the ones who throw up their arms and scream for joy. Everyone’s different. My boyfriend didn’t cry at his grandmas funeral, but his brother did. That doesn’t mean he’s heartless or not sad she’s gone, they just express themselves differently and for a fact they were both heartbroken so there ya go. 🤷🏻♀️ take a damn seat
Agreed. My bestie has a sister and her dad was like "yaay a boy" soo happy because he wanted a girl so for fun they did a fake gender reveal and it was a boy and he was crying soo hard being like "OMG IT IS A BOY" and pretend to be extra happy but he wanted a girl. So they actually had a girl so when it was time for delivery he got to know it was a girl and he was more happier then ever.

Gender disappointment is a real things and it's not a bad thing in and of itself. Some people don't care while others do, and that can be for various reasons, not all of them bad. However because there's the risk of this it's why I think couples should probably find out themselves first in private, so they can work through those emotions before having a party and announcing to everyone else. That's what my husband and I did, and I definitely am glad to have found out in private so I could process everything before being around family and announcing the gender.
Adorable! When we found out - 17 years ago - during the ultrasound I just started crying, looked at my husband and said "We won!"! Ours was the first boy grandchild in his family & the 1st baby in my family in 20 years. I wish they had dramatic reveals when I was expecting! 😉
