- In today's video I will share my reaction to Pauline Amelinckx's Full Performance at Miss Supranational 2023. After 3 attempts at Miss Universe Philippines, Pauline Amelinckx finally managed to represent her country internationally...not at the pageant that she had initially planned but destiny brought her to the stage of Miss Supranational. Regardless, Pauline Amelinckx put up a good fight from beginning to end and managed to end her journey as a 1st runner-up. A remarkable outcome if you ask me!

I hope other pageants promote fairness and clarity and uphold the right values and bring nations together and fight disparity and injustice.
May Miss Supranational do better from this point on coz if they are truly into inspiring people to do good, misleading actions or decisions like what they did in this q and a segment will only add to the negativity of this world. There is no perfect pageant so I do hope they become truly much better. 🙏

"Pauline's costume is a Red Filipiñana is created in a classic silhouette. Following the traditional draping and 70's sophisticated butterfly sleeves. A voluminous cascading train is attached to epitomized the daintiness of a Filipina. Adorned with intricate embroidery details with bead works. Paired with a traditional umbrella decorated with sparkly 'Okir' patterns. Okir or okil is the term for rectilinear and curvilinear plant-based designs and folk motifs that can be usually found among the Moro and Lumad people of the Southern Philippines, as well as parts of Sabah
so for all future candidates of Miss Supra, u simply have to be "authentic" & u'll win! u don't have to train or practise because as long as u are "authentic", u will get the crown!
I’m sure there is a lot more that goes into it, but while we were in Poland “authenticity” was the one word they kept using while describing their next titleholder
About time you realize that beauty pageants used to be like that. The girls did not trained or go through a regiment to compete. It is only in the 1990s when Venezuela's formula was revealed to the world that this training and manic preparation became a criteria for a contestant to do well. Maybe we should go back to that.
Acknowledging her first runner-up position made by MS org only comes to show that Pauline really made a show stopping performance during that night. Past MS Pageant did not make some remarks like this. Well they wasted another potential spokesperson of the org. Love lots Pauline. And to Luis, you also did an amazing job. It is true, that Mr. Sup should have also speech so that they can identify the candidates fit to be their ambassador.

The whole world is not the Philippines. The Filipino's presence in the internet basically create an echo chamber where every pageant vlogger will favor their candidates to keep them appease.

Thanx for being supportive of the Philippines. You've always been a great guy but even without those kind words from u, everyone or majority would agree that Pauline is the Real Winner in MS2023!
We also agree that Ecuador is gorgeous, but still, other girls have edged her out of this competition.
Ecuador doesn't deserve the bashing but whenever shallow people would defend her, she automatically gets the brunt of it as well.
While Pauline will always be the Miss Supra we never had, Ecuador will always be the Miss Supra that shouldn't be.
for me 1st runners up in any pageant is such a big honor to have gotten that far.. and to acknowledge the 1st runner up is like should have been a practice.. and not to consider it as nothing... as with any contest they dont even mention the country of the 1st runner up ..they only announce the country winner... and thas it ..1st runner up just shy away from the stage.. to think usually 4th/3rd/2nd placer were given acknowledgment except for the 1st runner up

Everything you said sir Luiz is felt by my heart... In my opinion her Miss Universe Philippines attempt becomes the organization's reason to be skeptical in crowing her ... Like it was never SUPRA she wanted that is why she went three times to try getting the universe crown and because of it maybe the supra org felt that if she will be crowned she will just work for supra org because of the crown but her heart says otherwis (MU) so if I was the supra org why will I give the crown to someone who has been trained for the universe and not for supra... Just my thought.... 😁

She he the a very verygood answer for Top 5 but if she changed it to "i can do this......" it would have been a bigger impact and could have made the difference. I honestly thought UK and Philippines were going to be the Top 2. I respect the judges' decisions but do I agree or like it? Nope! But c'est la vie. Congrats to Miss Ecuador. Honestly, hearing all the top 5 answers on the fiinal Q & A, Pauline should be crowned Ms. Supranational 2023. 1st runner-up is England, 2nd runner-up- Brazil, 3rd runner-up- Ecuador and 4th runner-up- Vietnam.
but pageants in general, maybe except for the ones in the Philippines, do not rely solely on the final question to determine the winner. They even said it during Supranational. Nobody appoint you guys as the arbitrators of how pageants chose their winners except yourselves.
For me she had the best answer in the Q&A as she mentioned "transcending borders", which defines supranational. Try to google "supranational definition" and you'll know. But then again, the judges may have considered other factors as well. 😀
The final question wasn’t intended to be a dictionary word hunt definition.

transcending borders is also done by other pageants. the literal definition of supranational is not only done by Miss Supranational (even if that’s their org’s name). Miss World, Universe, International and Earth transcend borders too.
Your other point was the judges considered other factors also. So even if a contestant mentioned the definition of supranational or did their homework, they may still not win because like you said, the judges consider other factor as well.

Luis, if the Mr. Supranational organization allowed men to speak you would be in the Top 5 because the answers given this year by the Top 5 were disappointing.
Secondly, I think Pauline performed very well and presented her answer eloquently; however, I think the best answer in the Top 5 Q&A was Great Britain.
Additionally, I think the term "body shaming" is mis and overused. If you compete in a beauty pageant and people comment on your physical condition, then it's just an opinion.
I watched your video and I love and appreciate the way you expressed that you entered the Mr. Supranational knowing that your body was not in the same physical shape as the other guys and you prepared yourself mentally for it. I respect your openness and will vote for you, just for being realistic and honest. However, women nowadays enter beauty pageants and are not in their best physical condition, and when the audience comments on their physique they want to call it "Body Shaming." I call that "playing the victim role."

Yes, powerful answer, but she did not specify a concrete example of what she did in her life to show she is dedicated. Advocacy had to be historical to be convincing. Unlike Equador who mostly talked about her exposure and experience which represented her potential for an ambassador. You can always say I am dedicated but how? Focus on a specific experience and expound from it your objective.

Based on answers, she had the best one. But Supranational takes a lot more into consideration. They watch us since the moment we arrive in Poland and the pageant activities/prelims are just as important as finals.

They could just have done it the way do it before and that is by having no final q and a since they are the ones who would pick their winner in the end. That way it would be clear that the organization or judges choose/s who they want to give the title to and people would no longer be confused on the inclusion of a final q and a.

I think Pauline forgot to pitch herself in. Her answer sounded generic with big words. If you listen to Ecuador, although her answer was not perfect, you can see how genuine she was and basically told the judges she wanted the job.
Yes, i agree. Pauline’s answer was generic and transferrable to another contestant. Although her answer was powerful, it ended up sounding like a cookie-cutter answer. Ecuador’s answer was personally hers as it only uniquely applies to her and is not transferrable to another contestants. The content of her answer fits her only, which increased her authenticity.
