In a male-dominated industry, you need to be ruthless and dominant if you want to rise through the ranks. Nearly all people at the top ranks have some sort of psychopathic tendencies when it comes to business. You don't become a managing director by being nice. You need to have that aggression fuelled by the testosterone that men have, a lot of sacrifices must be made.

im currently doing my BA in accounting and finance, should i do my masters and then start my IB carreer or should i do it part time along with my IB job.
Get a job but.... it’s 80+ work hours once you go full time be aware be it a small or huge successful firm cause the time lapse wouldn’t fall with you having the time for your masters as this doesn’t fall into the part time category you have to be dedicated to your job.but, hey if you get your a job opportunity go through with it
When you start your IB job, you likely won't have time to do it part time as an analyst, or even as an associate, but once you start to rise up the ranks, yes you can do it part time along with your job.

Cood video, very interesting. Things I didnt know about the industry. Is it really how it is portrayed in the movies? The "arrogant a*holes" image. The whole industry needs to change in order to keep women there or to attract more female candidates. Hope you are doing well for yourself since leaving.

Do you think it’s hard to transition from a back office/middle office role to IB?
It can be, yes, but not impossible. You'd have to prove that you have the necessary technical skills needed in order to move into the IB role, and likely do some networking too.
