Best live band in all of rock n’ roll.
Rivalled by Hendrix, on a good day.
Moon was killin those skins....
The harder you hit them, the better they sound!
Pete doing the in and out like that guy from Dr. Feelgood....GREAT clip. They didn't rush it.
Keith during every fill..... AAAAHHHH!
With a rare chance to hear him sing backup. A lot of times they turned off his vocal mike
@William Oliveaux Basically every live concert when Roger sang "I know what I mean, but ..." It was followed by AAAAAAHHHHHH
Check out Can't Explain at the Coliseum. A couple of times you can hear him screaming AHYAYAYAYA during another fill. Hysterical! And that is why they usually turned off his mic!
@@loosilu I thought Keith was about to ejaculate during that number😄
Moon!!!! Incredible
I was there, age 14, way up front - was next door to where I grew up! One of those shows you look back into your youth and wonder whether it was actually as good as it seemed at the time, great to have such great video to assure me that it was indeed so good.
THis is now known as one of the greatest live films of the Who of all time!
I've been at tons of concerts but the Who were the best live band ever, for me anyway.
One of my favorite Who songs live 😍
Indeed, the last couple pf times I saw the Who they used it as their opening song. It really sets the mood, you know what I mean.
omfg Keith Moon, jaysus!
Best version!
TIGHEST VERION I'VE EVER HEARD......................PURE CLASS
Yes, I agree.
check out later live versions - like the Royal Albert Hall charity gig. Amazing the evolution - especially Townshend's guitar work.
Keith is on fire here
@@if6wer966 According to Pete, Keith was (relatively) sober here. I have to agree with that, he sounds much better than other recordings from the same period.
This is one band I wish I could have seen in this lineup. No background singers no players on the side . 4 players rocking out.
I did
impressive Hiwatt 4 x 15 cabinets that Entwhistle is rockin' ...
51 years on, and still KICK ASS
Just brilliant, a peak of raw rock melody, dynamics and power that no-one else has reached. So glad I saw them live a few times in the 70s. Real alchemy burning madly. What days! Eho would have dreamt the path music later took?!
Moon’s in-between beats starting at 1:56 make the song for me, and other details throughout his history are what have distinguished this band from all others IMO. What a gifted musician.
Sold my Who tickets, back in 75;, because they changed the venue to general admission,,at Pontiac Silverdome (Metro Detroit ) oh well..
@@michaelhegyan7464 Good story, thanks.
@@MrGb1965 welcome..
I first saw the lads in 69 on their Tommy tour. Unbelievable live act.
Seen the who "75" st.louis. kieth moon controlled kaos at its finest
11 months post Woodstock ---- and still in great form, but enthusiasm waning a touch.
I would love to go back in time, just to see them live in concert for myself!
WOW! I thought i wasn't much of a fan but this is so great...helps to actually hear Keith's kick drum
Yep, bass drums better than the albums 🤷♂️
0:23 I get goosebumps every time I hear this part
Pete fresh from his side gig as a droog in Kubrick's Clockwork Orange
he was just an early Devo prototype.
even bigger question - WTF is John wearing?
@@bobwhite137 Elvis' leather jacket from the 68 comeback special and John Lennon's pants from Magical Mystery Tour...
@davidsnow: And some of Pete's steps early in this song make me think he'd been watching The Temptations in action.
Pete's chord progression portends his admiration for The Kinks
Funny thing is Keith Moon is saying "Tack" just after the song is finished, in Massachusetts, U.S.A.
"Tack" means "Thank You" in Swedish & right after, he translates into English by saying "Thank You".
Great band !!! I Can't Explain is my favorite song by The Who, next to Pinball Wizard & Baba O' Riley.
Just sounds like “ta” , British slang for “thanks”
@@VonSlovig yeah phil mogg/ufo does it all over the new ufo/sitn 8cd boxset - TA!
Tremendo !!!!!!!
The drummer really was the sound for that band damn he's too good for words...
This is RIDICULOUS.
Crushing it
Need to release this gig.
One of the easiest rock songs to play and one of the hardest to give it the "WHO " treatment. They were one of the best. Missing Ox and Moon.
Keith est à son top in 1970
Oh yea, those were the days.
I can explain: you're high! 😍🥰❤️🎼🎵🎶
Dig the crunch of Pete's P90s.
This is what I call a great protopunk song.
And I think it's from '65.
Best

Moon the loon rnr legend 🥁
The height of their powers!
Who else but the who member in white here is able to kick himself in his ass, WITH NOT JUST ONE FOOT, BUT with both feet, AT THE EXACT VERY SAME TIME ACTUALLY while expertly playing a guitar?
And with the greatest drummer ever, backing him with his box set explosive drums.
THE WHO .
CHAMPION MUSICAL GENIUS'S AND PERFORMERS . SIMILAR TO QUEEN SO ONLY A FEW OTHER LEGENDARY BANDS MATCH UP.
IN TALENT.
PURE AND SIMPLE.
Ahh…take me back…
DAMN! I WANT TO SAY, SEEMS/FEELS LIKE MORE POWER THAN LED ZEPPELIN. THE WHO WERE AT THEIR PEAK BETWEEN '68-'73-ish, AND COULDN'T BE TOUCHED.
I Can't Explain is a bit like The Kinks, especially the song I Don't Need You Anymore.
that fan dancing up front
1:21 i am this guy on concerts :v
proof it!
Hahahaha! I think that's me actually. I was at this show and was right up against the stage for a while until somebody got me out of there.
That's cool.
The moron that pisses everyone around him off?
Pete looks like he’s just turned up to play whilst decorating his house! Lol!
Works part time as a Baker......his Mothers Pride.
The Who's "I Can't Explain" released December 3, 1965. Earliest "punk" record? I certainly think so.
You Really Got Me by The Kinks I believe truly deserves that honour.
THE O'rible Fucking Ooo!!!
In India they were referred to as The Whom.
where are Moon's Hi Hats .....? Don't see them.
During the 1966-1972? periods on stage he didn't use the hi hats much on stage
Punk De Luxe….!
? What is higher, Pete's pants or Roger's heels?
"I look pretty tall but my heels are high."
Pete just left his drywall job .. ...
Pongan la velocidad x2 en el video
Joe Cocker
Then The Clash would plagiarize that riff on Clash City Rockers on their debut album.
They were so ridicously good😂 no one could ever touch them... dont
even mention Zeppelin for fucks sake!!!
I swear Keith Moon had 6 arms lol.
They dress like nowadays
nowadays dress like then
