Art is a craft in which some people choose to create. Sometimes it's a sweet battle with your imagination in hopes that it can give you what you see in your minds eye. I think Jan did a wonderful job , and at the end of his battle he won to conquer another day.
The mark of a true master, is making it look so very, very easy.
It's a relief to see a video of a real abstract artist - so many pretend ones making such awful stuff on CZcams videos. Thanks for sharing.

First time watching, I thought it was a video trick the way you pulled the red over the piece. I told my wife: "Its like he just pulled a painted curtain down over the piece!" it was very funny, and amazing. Good work sir!

I believe firmly that I enjoyed the comments more. The good and the bad. Everyone has their opinion and everyone stands behind said opinions similarly to how people cling to their faith. Why do people hate so much?
This IS abstract art. Abstract expressionism.
When most people read “abstract art” they picture Kandinsky or Picasso, Matisse or Condo. For great reason: they were masters at it. Hell, I think of those artists and others when I think of abstract art. Condo and Picasso are at the top of my list.
This mans art is not abstract in the terms we all agree on. He makes no attempt to depict visual reality using color, form or shape in a “different” way than what reality gives us.
He is an abstract expressionist, using brush strokes or straight-edged lines that appear gestural and spontaneous. Or unique.

I´ll share your work with some of my pupils in an Art English project in Argentina. It will be great to show them how you work and how it is not necessary to use only brushes to make pieces of art. They will probably get all messy, but as you, they will be expressisng themselves, it will be fun! Thanks for the possibility.

Nice! My only regret Jan is that this video is too short! I want to watch you paint for much longer :( I'm an abstract painter myself and love to watch other painters. I hope you are ignoring the asinine comments below. It's not so easy to paint abstract / non-objective paintings. Oh wait, yes it is!! That's why we see three and four year olds in art studios set up in front of big canvases painting abstract masterpieces all the time... NOT!! LOL I wanted to ask you Jan, where did you get that large scraper? I would love to try painting with one of those!

i love it, and it´s great when he paints and does not care what people say, this is great art and he makes it look easy but nonetheless its him and his strokes, colors... i see his very conservative customers that are very happy, i´d say non-artists and uneducated but not all and some in my league, that can paint just about anything and have worked for many well known people and i am enjoying this and would purchase one for a space that may be available, anyway these are the idiots and the beggars in our societies that don´t do a thing.... that is who is sadly negative.... but hey who cares.........! WE LOVE IT!

Michael Lang is a good abstract artist. Even Though it is abstract, of which I am not a fan, his work actually looks like art and he doesn't just sling paint and hope it hits a canvas. He's got vids on YT. You will see the diff is night and day.

i like it. its not like he just buried what was underneath 5 layers below it. re not in ive seen videos where a master does that kind of thing. thats ok too . it seems tho to me anyway that you can be a master too. Like the book where the chimps are at typewriters and eventually write shakespere?

I try to master the technique you use, in The last bit, where you gouge with The large scraper. But can't do it, with The same results like you. I just smudge The paint out, even more, do you have any good advice?
+emil hennild Hi Emil, put on enough painting on the side of the metal bar. (see video) Do not scrape the canvas , slight over gently
