Anthem of Ukraine - "Shche ne vmerla Ukrainy"

The words of the anthem are based on a poem by the Ukrainian ethnographer, folklorist and poet Pavel Čubinsky. A priest, a famous composer of his time, Mikhail Verbitsky wrote music for poetry and for the first time performed this composition himself in the hall of the theological seminary in the city of Przemysl.
On January 15, 1992, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the musical edition of the national anthem. However, it was not until March 6, 2003 that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law "On the National Anthem of Ukraine", which was proposed by President Leonid Kuchma. The bill proposed to approve Mikhail Verbitsky's music as the national anthem with the words of only the first verse and the chorus of Pavel Čubinsky's song "Sche ne vmerla Ukraina".
Inaccuracies are often heard in the rendition of the anthem. Officially, the recitation of an excerpt from the first sentence "i slava, i volja" is accepted, but some replace it with the more sonorous "ni slava, ni volja". In the second verse one often hears "brattja ukrainci" instead of "brattja molodiji". And in the third, "voroženky" is often performed instead of "voriženka".
