  • Want to know how your coffee cup gets made? Go on a journey from the forests of Finland to the hills of Cumbria to find out how your cups gets made and recycled.
You’ve probably heard about the deal with coffee cups, it’s been an issue on telly and across the news since it was uncovered that most of the 3 billion coffee cups we use every year weren’t being recycled because of a thin plastic lining inside the cup that stops the hot liquid leaking out of the paper.
This generated a huge amount of waste but since the spotlight turned onto coffee cups big changes have been made from an increase in reusables to new designs for paper cups.
In this video we want to delve deeper into paper cup recycling to find out how sustainable it is and how it works as well as getting to the bottom of how many times you need to use a reusable cup to make it the more sustainable choice. In the last few years reusables have gone from 1 in every 400 drinks to 1 in every 25. We’ve made some great progress but there is still more we can do.
We also want to know how many times you need to use your reusable to make it the sustainable choice.

I like to wash my paper cups and use them for smth else: pen holder, brush holder, etc.
I still think they're way better than plastic cups because even after the first wash they start to desintegrate. So, they won't last in the soil that much. The thin plastic layer is still a problem, though.
