3-year Prima owner here. The key takeaway should be "you need to register an account to use the app". About 90% of the settings are only accessible through the app. The app is reliant on VA's auth server. And they already have a track record of taking their servers down for 2 or 3 months, effectively half-bricking everyone's machines.
Also, the just released LMLM revision added a gravimetric dosing option so it outclasses any version of VA Prima now.

The only issue i see with this machine doing both pour overs and espresso is the water composition. Water for espresso for best flavor is dramatically different than water for pour overs. I love the concept though. Would be cool if it took water for pour over from a different reservoir dedicated to pour over coffee.

This has been the most problematic coffee machine produced in recent times. So much so that some of us have given up on fixes and dealing with product support that we have to sell it in the end at a major loss.
I will never ever buy a VA coffee machine anymore. :-(

I heard there were huge issues with mobile app connectivity and etc. - we can relate just with dealing with a Prima EXP model past few months and it was smooth. I understand the frustration, sorry to hear the struggles.

Same here. But I kept mine as the loss on sale was something I could not bear. So I stuck to it until I got all of my issues fixed, it took over a year. I am now stuck with it but it's something I am ready to endure.

@@drazenbabich yes this is a multiple thousand dollar machine, but still has plastic parts. We have the VA black eagle Maverick and even there the steam wand lever is plastic.
