- Angry Birds may be the most copied and cloned toy around today. These knock-off toys are often inferior in design and quality. I found an Angry Birds set which is part TOMY big loader, part Angry Birds On Thin Ice and part Angry Birds Mega Fling. This toy was said to be reduced down from $70 to $40. So in American Pickers style I looked for another knock-off toy to do a bundle buy and this exposed me to another set of nightmares via an illegal weapon which is part of the other toy.
All this and much more is explained in the video, and this is just a tiny insight into the massive world of knock-off Angry Bird toys. Instead of mega fling we have the mega fail.

What is a little strange is there is an argument that the masses of whats termed copyright leakage is actually a good thing for those behind Angry Birds. But when low end and dangerous toys start representing your brand it may cause more trouble than what it's worth.

The Angry Birds slingshot is not a home made device so It can be classed as a prohibited weapon.

Remember I was told that larger set was $70, thats the same price as the real Angry Birds Star Wars set AT AT attack here in Oz. This shop was in the Korean part of town and basically everything in the shop was overpriced....there was loads of SpongeBobSquarePants stuff there as well

the real worry is the slingshot in the childrens toy, the police can't really do anything about knock off toys, it's up to the customs people to sort out that mess...remember all this stuff has landed here via container ship, and thats where most of the knock off stuff gets picked up if it's found by customs

I did soem reading up on all the copyright leakage going on with Angry Birds, and there is an argument that all this is actually good for those behind Angry birds, remembering the the main target is to get the app. BUT all these knock off toys totally undermine the real Angry Birds toys sold through Mattel. I have a few of these now and they are pretty good although the Angry Birds Star Wars stuff is quite expensive.
I'm wondering if LEGO will have a bite with Angry Birds..?

personally I think the stupid high prices was because I was in one of those little Korean knock off shops, it was a shop devoted to weird knock off toys and plushes

A few years back me and my brothers took all of our angry bird plushes and made a make shift sling shot and tried to knock over boxes with it.

Here in Oz there has been much talk about prohibited weapons of late, sure we are a basket case when it comes to gun control but we seem to have stopped the mass shootings once the guns were taken away, your country has some really big thinking to do to get your head around the cause and effect of prohibited weapons...I sleep at night un-armed, my family is un-protected and if I am attacked I have nothing. You can't even carry a knife here...thats how strict it is now.let alone a toy sling shot

Actually, everything in the 2nd set is original from the molds and the catapult. Mega Fling came out after the second set.

has anyone eles noticed that the trainset looks like a knock off of the big loaders sets that TOMY used to do back in the long forgoton past, just because of the track and train
The reason why the motorized egg trolley doesn't work is because it has traction tires on both sets of wheels. On the Thomas the tank big loader sets and Trackmaster trains, the vehicles only have traction tires on their drive wheels. This way, the vehicles are able to pivot on the powered wheels and have the non-powered wheels slide from side to side when they make turns.
