Dude, same (sorta). I know more French now than 1 and a half years of Spanish in school. Two different languages but you can obviously tell the difference between learning with Vincent and learning with teachers at school.

I moved to a fairly French community in 2018 in Northern Ontario but have been too lazy to learn French. I also find trying to learn a language in my 40s is a lot harder then it was in elementary school. But it’s definitely something I want to do while I wait to get called back to work in the public service.

No need for a class. This lesson is amazing. I speak intermediate french and I can say that this lesson is all you need to start. The only thing that you will miss is people interaction which could be in a class but if you live in a French speaking country then go down to the street and speak in French, make mistakes and learn. You will speak in no time. Also let the information sink in your head. The more time passes, the better you will understand the language. Don't get demotivated if in the first month(s) you are not understanding or able to express yourself.

I think that’s the title in part. The content is amazing but the title is misleading and it is ridiculous to try to portray that you could speak a language in 5 days. It should have been something like -All they key aspects of learning the French language in 5 lessons

I don't think French is that hard, you have to be patient and hard-working but nothing in your life you will achieve an easy way anyway.
It also feel better to learn it than just give up if you really want to learn it. I started once and I came back to learn it again because I didn't feel satisfied to give up on learning this language. 😉😂

Perfect, thank you! I already know some basics but it's more of a muscle memory rather than knowing French. I can read "primitive" French, which doesn't require too many tenses or vocabulary and can construct sentences in writing. But when it comes to speaking French, I'm very slow and nervous. I hope to improve my spoken French and gain some language confidence.
I love that you explained the alphabet in the beginning, it makes it so much easier to follow and imagine the general pronunciation of words. My pronunciation has improved so much and I'm only 19 mins in ☺️
French has always been my 2nd language growing up back home,but living in Australia 🇦🇺 most of my life I’ve forgotten so much, but I’m so happy to hear it again, and you’re right instead of 5 days it actually took me 2 days to speak French without throwing in English words.!!

I'd say better that Eng is similar to French. I know that the meaning is quite the same but it is to underline that Eng is just a derived language.

I seriously can't believe how in dept these videos are. When it says learn in 5 days, I thought this video was the whole 5 days ! I'm up to the days of the week and it's taken me well over 5 hours to get to this point. I'm really taking my time and repeating it over and over so it can really stick in my head. I also bought a notebook to take notes and study them. Oh man this is gonna take a while ! But I'm determined

Yep... you will make it... have some breaks when you feel that you are not fully concentrated. Take the time to read your notes and make lists of vocabulary, use a dictionary and check when I don't translate everything. Try to rewrite my senteces and start to build your own too. You will make it... no worries about that!

Thank you for this valuable comprehensive lesson. I lived in France for some years and learned to speak it through everyday interaction, but never studied it formally. Having left France, I only recently started to formally study it i.e to read & write it . I am shocked to realise just how different & complex it is,vastly different from what I was speaking ( with lots of errors that nobody corrected). I now know that, I didn’t know what I didn’t know. Start reading as soon as possible. I would even go as far as to start reading japanese manga translated in french since you can tell what is going on from the images. Obviously dont only read but reading is the best way to learn vocabulary.
You have to know the words: and, this, that, is, etc so you can tell what words are actions or nouns but you dont have to know all of them. They are the most common words so you will subconciously notice that they are in every single sentence that you read anyways. Once you know those words you will be able to guess based on context what is being said.

Them: eux google translate says this one is "leur" but it means "theirs".

usually ~J'~ and ~suis~ are combined to make ~j'suis~ which literally translates to I'm.
Download the app called Anki and make flash cards with these words on them.
Words that end with é and er are said the same. Dont worry about those when starting to read, tbh I didnt learn the difference until I was in 6th grade. Dont worry too much about the verb conjugations they are a waste of time to learn at the start, there are just too many exceptions. You will notice patterns.
