Very good explanation mate. I was always curious to know more info and their value. Do more videos like this with other commemorative coins.

Hi Glen, I have collected a few coins in my time and must say those Federation coins are MAGNIFICENT 👍.
Thanks for sharing them and the information on them 💪🎖.
They are some of my favourite coins 👈.

Thank you Steve. Do you still get them in change in your area, as I rarely see them.

@@Gumardee_coins_and_banknotes hi Glen, not so much in my change from the shops 😬, I noodle around 2 grand per week, various denominations.
Week days are usually gold coins and over the weekend are silver coins, the Feds are overall hard to find and to find one in good shape is rare.
I assume people save them from new then loose interest and deposit them to the bank witch works for me 😇.

Did people know that the "Bandicoot" derives from the true name Banded Coot. Thanks to the Aussie accent & laziness, we mispronounce the name Bandicoot as well as the town of "Albany"', which we also mispronounce. Such is life.
Also the Kangaroo Paw in Latin known as an Anigozanthos. There a seven species of Anigozanthos, but only One of them is named after an actual Kangaroo.
There's some useless information to keep you up at night.

Thanks that info is good. So here in Strahan, and specifically in Melbn, there is a place called Melton that we pronounce as Mel'on, so no T, SA we just say a short stopover to WA and NT is where you go to get eaten by salties. Have a nice night.
