So yes in my opinion Sonic CD in US was meant to be another adaptation of Sonic Satam like Sonic spinball did, they even kinda added Sally as a character in STH CD and after beating Mecha Sonic in Race Sally kisses Sonic like in Satam. And as we know Satam has a different atmosphere that's why in US it has different music, and yes in Sonic CD It's the first time when Satam Robotnik builds machines, so yes he sucks in it, but he's really creative but he succeed twice (Mecha Sonic and instant death laster (-mobile), but he managed to create technology which made him conquier of little planet. So yes think about it, and let it bother you. (I hope that i haven't forgotten to write something, ask questions about it, of course if u want)

I personally appreciate the us design while I do prefer the JP art, the US art gives sonic a more cocky and 90’s look like he’s supposed to have since his attitude is inspired by bill Clinton. also I have no problem with the eye brows cause it doesn’t matter sonic is drawn like a cartoon, cartoon characters have this brow all the time with expressions other then happy. the brows help
