I remember when the Cable Guy came out and saw it in theaters. I loved it and still do. I know exactly what Doug and Rob were talking about how people didn't like it because it wasn't a typical Jim Carrey movie. I like dark comedies and it was good to see him play a character that wasn't the typical Jim Carrey formula.
I will go to my grave adoring the 1986 Lucasfilm production of 'Howard The Duck'. 90% of the population of this planet seems to HATE it, but I LOVE it. It's weird, it has it's own odd style, it's dark, it's FUNNY (and silly) and the FX, production and casting are exceptionally well done. I love how they just REALLY committed to it all, the level of detail in the Duckworld sets, how they take the cheesiness to heart and run with it...it's just fun from start to finish for me., and no number of haters will ever alter this fact...;)
A movie that I really like that most people love to trash is "Ghostbusters II"; I found it to be a worthy companion to the original film. I don't care if the plot is similar to the original; it's got a lot of terrific moments like the courtroom battle, the river of slime, Vigo threatening to take over the world on New Year's Day, Venkman's witty dialogue, Janosz becoming the creepy ghost nanny, the killer bathtub, the ghostbusters controlling the statue of liberty, Louis fulfilling his dream of becoming a ghostbuster, etc. ...and yet people still treat this movie like garbage, and I'm not sure why.
It was too close to the first one for most folks, me included, and I personally didn't care much for it, tho you made good points with the bits you mentioned, which were very well done...but who cares what I think, or anyone else does, for that matter man? That was the point of this panel...you enjoy that flick, and be happy...;)
Here's a few of mine: 1. Apparently a lot of people hate Kronk's New Groove. I personally thought it was one of the better Disney sequels. I thought it kept the spirit of the original. And who doesn't like Patrick Warburton? 2. I really liked Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland when it came out. Over time though I realized that it technically wasn't a great movie, but I still like it. I consider it my guilty pleasure movie. 3. For whatever reason, I don't like Clueless. I don't even really know what it is. Maybe the character of Cher rubbed me the wrong way, or maybe I dismissed it because I liked Mean Girls (a similar film) so much, idk.
Actually everyone hated "It's a Wonderful Life", it was a huge bomb when it came out. That's why the studio dropped the copyright. The only reason it was on TV so much was because it was free.
BrokenWolf1990, not only do I enjoy opera, I studied it in high school and more so in college. I'm no Joyce DiDonato, but I can hold my own among the soprano section :)
I do too, and my wife ADORES it...Petty was PERFECTLY cast, and the film was odd and original...funny to boot. You have good taste in weird, my man...;)
Ok I'm gonna be honest, the only movie I dislike that everyone else loves is E.T. I don't loathe it, it just bored me and any sense of wonder I got was ONLY from the ending, that was it, but I understand it's universal appeal. That being said, I'll say one movie I like that everyone else hates: Man of Steel(come at me internet).
Eli Copperman Agreed about E.T., I watched it wondering why I didn't give a shit, asking myself if I understood what was happening and then determining "Okay I DO get it, but...so what?" really bored me more than anything.
I'm glad alot of people love the new jungle Book cause I do too but the film that I love but everyone hates is the new Beauty and the Beast and I don't understand the hate for Emma Watson cause I think she's a perfect Belle and by the way I'm a hardcore fan of the original and don't tell me that loving both doesn't make me that way
I love how the crowd acted when the guy said he didn't like It's a Wonderful Life
People applaud the guy who said he liked Indy 4 (which I like) and then I like to play this scene as well.
That gasp when he said a wonderful life😂

One Girl: "The Cable Guy With Jim Carey"
Doug and Rob: "I LOVE THAT MOVIE!"
That was wholesome
the girl who said "garbage pail kids", props for throwing everybody for a loop! lol
Claudio Torres when did she say that?
I love seeing Doug and Rob interact with fans.
Right it’s precious. Screw the haters
That intro makes me think I'm watching a Nostalgia Critic sitcom. Especially with that establishing shot. xD
"Oh DOUG!" *canned laughter*
That's our Doug will be right back
47Cartoonguy
Tune in next week when Doug says, "Who was eating a banana in here!?"
Oh shit! I didn't know that was being filmed! It's so weird to see myself there! I was the Evangelion guy

CG was a DAMN funny and original dark comedy...you have good taste in weird flicks...;)
Damn the intro
brings back nostalgia (unintentional pun)

FUCKING AWESOME! Thank you again, Mr. Levesque! o/
20:47 Dat kim possible ringtone tho!
YAS IM NOT ALONE!!!!
Don’t know who to guess was there
I like Transformers: Age of Extinction mostly for Mark Walberg. I just wish it had an editor.
Aaaaaaaaand the panel I DID attend! Maybe I'll see myself in a shot.
20:48 the Kim Possible ringtone XD
Don’t know who to guess was there
I saw another panel like this. A panel where they talked about overlooked christmas specials. Can anyone remember that? I can't find it

I liked Dune (1984). It is the reason I went and got all the original Dune books.
oooh, the girl that liked Sucker Punch read my mind! I feel the same as her in that it was mismarketed and not understood by the audience!
The first prequel movie I saw was Revenge of the sith and then I saw Phantom Menace. I was a kid when I saw it

Did anybody hear about the time when Doug accidentally walked in on a yaoi pannel?
Hey, I know the girl who hates Donnie Darko! Long time no see, old friend! :D
My sister used to watch the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cartoon back in the day. Nothing weird about it.
Maybe it was different for her while growing up
Ah but can these people make films like me?
Aww. I completely get why but I'm so sad that Doug doesn't like Donnie Darko. It's my favorite film of all time and has been since I was 8 hahaha
You saw it at 8? :O
Yeah Donnie Darko is an amazing film.
Actually everyone hated "It's a Wonderful Life", it was a huge bomb when it came out. That's why the studio dropped the copyright. The only reason it was on TV so much was because it was free.
eaharms3544 Glad to hear it. I effing HATE that film! For much the same reasons I also hate Love Actually.
Holy shit... the girl who likes Moulin Rouge is around my age and she likes OPERA??? A YOUNG PERSON WHO LIKES OPERA??? THERE IS HOPE FOR THE WORLD!!!
BrokenWolf1990, not only do I enjoy opera, I studied it in high school and more so in college. I'm no Joyce DiDonato, but I can hold my own among the soprano section :)
If I have kids, I will show them prequel trilogy.
One of the movies everyone disagrees with me on but I like is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3.
I loved the Cable Guy
YES! YES! Someone else likes Suckerpunch!
If I were there I would ask him to do his girlish scream
I liked, and still kinda like Batman and Robin. :-) Excuse me while I dive for cover.
BAT CREDIT CARD!
Batman returns is my favorite superhero movie
The alien in the climax didn't bother me.
The alien didn't bother me.
I like Tank Girl. There, I said it.
I do too, and my wife ADORES it...Petty was PERFECTLY cast, and the film was odd and original...funny to boot.
You have good taste in weird, my man...;)
I am going to get thumbed down for this, but...
The Godfather is one of the best films I've ever seen.
The Godfather Part 2 put me to sleep.
I disagree about the stories, I don't think they executed poorly.

thagrammarnazi At least Spielberg gave us better movies.
I like man of steel too. I'll always defend it for being a good movie
@@emcvideoproductions500 i get it but i still love it, and its appeal cant be denied its one if speilbergs best films imo
I'm glad alot of people love the new jungle Book cause I do too but the film that I love but everyone hates is the new Beauty and the Beast and I don't understand the hate for Emma Watson cause I think she's a perfect Belle and by the way I'm a hardcore fan of the original and don't tell me that loving both doesn't make me that way
That’s like saying you’re not hardcore if you watch more than the first Star Wars trilogy
I really didn't like The Jungle Book and it annoys me so much how many people love it.
Interstellar, a movie for people who think they are moviefans...
