Ferrari 488 GTB OnBoard Flat Out @ Track - PURE Exhaust Note & Blue Flames!

- I take you onboard for a few hot-laps around Monza circuit in a brand new Ferrari 488 GTB with a GoPro camera placed on the rear bumper, near the exhaust tips so you get to hear the sound of its 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 in the best way possible, as well as see the car shooting some little blue flames out the tailpipe.

Dang... 290km/h on the main straight, and made it look easy.
Like how it goes through corners, seems to require precise and delicate steering+pedal work (well... much like most MR cars).

its sounds a little bit better than a corvette c7, because it has higher rpm but its basically same sound. it shift amaizing as usual... if im getting a ferrari i really go for the 458, at least she sounds like a really ferrari, not a cheap car, i dont care for turbos blablabla, i like that creespy sound

+Inner Hammer The 488 is based upon the 458 and they renewed and refined many parts of the 488. It would be a shame not to compare them. I think the 488 takes the lot and I even like the sound (+imagine an aftermarket exhaust like iPe or Capristo)!
+Inner Hammer If its going to replace the 458 as the GT3/GTE race car yes it absolutely does. Its built to race like a true Ferrari should be. Yes it has turbo's but they see the benefit it has on track for both weight and ease of tuning on race days. Mclaren has been running their TTV8 on track since the MP4-12C and now the 650S's. The LMP cars have long since ditched loud shouty motors for smoother smaller displacement turbo motors.

Everyone knows 488 is faster, that's not the point. The point is driver's experience as a whole.
Inner Hammer I just rewatched Harris go around Fiorano and all he could say were good things about the driving experience. He even compared the braking to the La Ferrari at one point. The development driver wanted to make a turbo car in the mindset of the 458 plus 100 hp

LMP1 has near 1000 hp. This is nowhere near that. A 650S would not be nearly so loose on that track on that day at that time. It's all in the suspension setup.
Shadowboost wait your kidding right? a 650s would be just as loose, dont forget that it's in the middle of winter in italy, cold tires and, the 650s got an open diff so it would probably have as much traction problems if not more.
I have to say the short shifting you have to do in higher gears on longer straits sounds really uninspiring. Ferrari are using turbos now for fuel efficiency? What next, a diesel version??
Still, at least this looks much better (to my eye) than the 458.

Would be nice if the wheelcam was bigger, the exhaust cam is totally useless and interior sound would be much appreciated.

rumbepack I will take a F12 TDF over any car, even over a LaFerarri. 488 GTB isn't bad at all the sound is meh but rest is an improvement over the 458 and compared to McLaren 650S which has turbo lag, Ferrari has certainly done their homework.

οκ i didn't knew that,but it seems like turbo does not response very fast when you step on the throtle...i'm not fun of turbo engines...supercars should have N/A engines in my opinion
