Quick tip I figured out for the friendship pins: if you want yours to work as a pin but do not have safety pins without the loop on the end, take some needle nose pliers and open up the loop on the end. This way you can move your design to the other side so the sharp part of the pin is functional. When you are done tighten the loop back down so your design stays. Hope this helps.
