    Hey Rob,
    We(my family of 4) are in D.C. now.(for 2 days) Thanks for the videos they were helpful with our plan. We stayed just outside D.C. and had free breakfast and free parking at the hotel. We brought snacks with us for the day...Sooo the only thing we spent money on was $15-$20 parking and we just grabbed simple dinners, burgers etc and The Circulator. It's great! The drivers are very helpful. It is overwhelming. So much to see. We had to just focus on a few things..

    Great video. The Willard is on our list to stay during one of our annual visits to DC. Homewood Suites looks really nice too but charges $54 a night for parking....ouch.

      Honestly any hotel inside the city is going to charge roughly that amount to park. For alternatives check out czcams.com/video/AKHFi_lMrvg/video.html

    Sorry Rob, too rich for my blood. We drove to DC, stayed at a best Western in Fairfax. It was a nice hotel with a free breakfast for about $100 a night. It was a short drive to the metro station with plenty of parking, and we were in the mall in no time. Here's another tip about Fairfax. Since it's a terminal station, you ALWAYS get an actual seat for the ride in, and you don't have to stand because it's already full.

    When my boyfriend and I came to DC for 4th of July last year we stayed at Club Quarters on 17th St. It was a nice hotel for the two of us (wouldnt reccomend for large families) and its about a 5 minute walk north of the White House. It was very convenient to go back for a few hours after the parade ended and not be far from anything. We booked a few months in advance and got our room for $125 a night for the week

      Club Quarters is a business hotel brand so on weekends and holidays you can find some great rates there since there are no business travelers in town. Great job!

    I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn on 14th St. a couple of years ago and walked everywhere except when I took a Circulator bus to the Frederick Douglass house.

      That hotel is excellent if you are up for walking everywhere.

    My wife and I visited DC a few years ago (pre covid) and we stayed in Rockville and we'll definitely stay there again on our next trip. It's an easy ride into the city in the Metro and it seemed like we paid less for a hotel than we would have if we stayed in the city.

      Weather is tough to predict around here. At that time of year you could get winter, spring or anything in between. Have fun!

    We are coming to Arlington in the upcoming months to lay our late mother to rest with my father. Are there any hotels that you are aware of that offer discounted rates for attendees? We could possibly have up to 10 rooms during that time and I am really having a hard time inquiring about blocks of rooms. It is going to be a short trip but we hope to enjoy a few DC sights. Thanks so much for these great videos and information. It is going to really help us out a whole lot once the ANC schedule her service.

    • @TripHacksDC
      @TripHacksDC  Před 4 lety +1

      Sorry for your loss. Hotels in the U.S. do not advertise bereavement rates. You can contact them directly to inquire and sometimes they can offer something but it depends on availability. Many spring dates in DC are so busy that they might not be able to accommodate discounts.

    Staying in Downtown DC can be expensive. Whenever I go to DC, I stay with family. Even though it may be 25-30 min from the closest subway station.

    My 3 choices Hyatt the wharf, Homewood suites by Navy yard or Homewood suites on New York street. Which is the best location. I'm planning on coming to Washington for the cherry blossom sightseeing and a National game. We cant walk much so need someplace close to transportation.

    Hey Rob. Quick question..I'll be driving to DC from NC. Noticed a lot of the hotels charge for parking. With that in mind do you recommend staying outside of DC maybe in Virginia and taking the subway?

    • @TripHacksDC
      @TripHacksDC  Před rokem +2

      Check out czcams.com/video/AKHFi_lMrvg/video.html. I don't recommend sacrificing location for the sake of a car.
