Im afraid to play it all the time cause i dont wanna be sick of this masterpiece.
izy same
I actually do play it all the time. I find it intoxicating
cherry lipgloss same
Bruh late to this party but yes
Impossible bro
this is the kind of song that makes you feel nostalgic and sad but at the same time you feel heartened
Majo Calle honestly you explained it perfectly
That’s cigarette daydreams for me
Mason T thuja
I do not feel sad, but reflected
Just that feeling of comfort I'm a time of stress. The fire is raging around you, but you know that things will be okay. You don't know when or how, but it will
They really have not one bad song. It's truly amazing.
Ain't no rest for the wicked is dope yes, but this one isnt bad either
LezOrg ain't no rest for the wicked is one of my fav songs by them, and I've been a fan for ages
The guy just likes the band sheesh. lol
BiscuitBuff lmao he completely has the right to not like the main song don't like it ignore him
actually a lot of songs from thank you happy birthday is just noise
“Got so much lose , got so much to prove, god don’t let me lose my mind”
Those words resonate with me to this day since the first time I’ve heard this masterpiece.
Peace and love to everyone out there.
Excellent.
+Mumbo Jumbo I didn't know you listened to cage the elephant!! Haha that's awesome!
You have a nice taste in music and your videos are always clean and awesome :D
+Mumbo Jumbo You pop up everywhere man. =D
Will you comment on every good song they will release? Because ya know, You'll have lots of work
+Mumbo Jumbo mumbs!!!!!!!
Is it just me or do you think that Cage the Elephant makes one of the best songs but doesn't get as much attention as they deserve
it's just you. they're fucking huge
+Jake Connelly Idk I just hear them constantly on the radio where I live. To put it into perspective a band like Portugal. The Man is considered a pretty decently sized band and probably has 1/3 of the following of Cage the Elephant. I guess it all depends on what you listen to and what you are comparing it to, but there is no doubt Cage the elephant is a pop band in the big scheme of things.
+Jake Connelly nonetheless I love this song. have a good one dude 👌🏼
carspottingHWH Don't get me wrong I agree they are pretty big, just meant that they aren't that big like we all wish they could and should be! Peace man, Love the song.
+carspottingHWH I hear them constantly on the radio too. I live in their hometown (Bowling Green, KY) and every time they release something, it plays constantly here for weeks. It tends to skew my perception on how big they are to the rest of the world, because I thought they were a huge band.
This song attack me with a lot of fuckin feels.
A lot of fuckin feels. I agree.
Agreed. I did not ask for these feels
yep. did not ask for the feels. or the tears. or the self doubt. or the pity for humans.
that profile pic suits your comment haha
Girl I was just about to comment that😆
I always thought this song was beautiful. This whole album, really. But this song was my sister's favorite on this record, perhaps one of her favorite songs of all time. She showed it to me a few years ago. Now I'm mostly a hip-hop guy, but I still fell in love with this song, just as my sister did.
She passed away a little over two weeks ago, at only 18 years old. There was a private viewing of her, with just my dad and me. I told my dad that I knew some of her favorite music. I got to play this song for her one last time, as I spoke through tears of the good memories we had. I apologized to her profusely for not spending more time with her. And I told her that I loved her one last time.
To the members of Cage the Elephant, thank you for sharing this song with the world. I was so happy to play this for her again.
Don't worry man I'm sure she's looking down glad you gave her this beautiful song one more time.
I'm so sorry man, I experienced loss before, and it breaks your heart, but you gotta remember that their probably looking down from heaven, glad they got to spend their life with you
She knows you loved her ❤im sorry for your loss
I’m sorry for your loss 💓
That really sucks man sorry for your loss
I cry this is so good
me
me
me
me
me
What a day to be alive.
This album is about to kick some major ass.
+Kayleigh Webb exactly! :)
[Verse 1]
We were at the table by the window with the view
Casting shadows, the sun was pushing through
Spoke a lot of words, I don't know if I spoke the truth
[Pre-Chorus]
Got so much to lose
Got so much to prove
God, don't let me lose my mind
[Chorus]
Trouble on my left, trouble on my right
I've been facing trouble almost all my life
My sweet love, won't you pull me through?
Everywhere I look, I catch a glimpse of you
I said it was love and I did it for life (did-did it for you)
[Verse 2]
We will come to pass, will I pass the test?
You know what they say, yeah
The wicked get no rest
You can have my heart, any place, any time
[Pre-Chorus]
Got so much to lose
Got so much to prove
God, don't let me lose my mind
[Chorus]
Trouble on my left, trouble on my right
I've been facing trouble almost all my life
My sweet love, won't you pull me through?
Everywhere I look, I catch a glimpse of you
I said it was love and I did it for life (did-did it for you)
[Chorus]
Trouble on my left, trouble on my right
I've been facing trouble almost all my life
My sweet love, won't you pull me through?
Everywhere I look, I catch a glimpse of you
I said it was love and I did it for life (did-did it for you)
[Outro]
Got so much to lose
Got so much to prove
God, don't let me lose my mind...
makelmore makes mer thin k pretty hardly about this... if a man is born in america and is related to malcom X and he is half nigernian and goees to the UK and rihtfully dethrones the king can later he move to nigera like micheal b jorden killmopnger and become king to negus?
It's so odd yet so cool that this is featured on a horror movie trailer!
I WAS JUST ABOUT TO SLEEP ?? YOU CANT DO THIS CTE
but it sounds great so you are forgiven
Hey, you know what they say, the wicked get no rest
+Gabby stellar the wicked don't listen to cte
+aaron melrose did you seriously just say that?
+Nathaniel Griffin (ASF NateDog24) wicked people don't listen to cte, only good people *
This is phenomenal, I like this way more than Mess Around.
It's a way different vibe but I like it better too!
+Chris Porter y e e s s
+Treyton A.
Thats what i like the most about CTE. Last 2 albums had so many different styles of music.
+Five4Nine *3 albums
much better than mess around for sure
My life's main theme. When I'm happy or sad... It always hits the spot.
this is the music that i love so much i’d rather not tell any of my friends about it. ITS MINE.
That's mad weird, if you really loved an experience wouldn't you want people to share it with? Or if you really loved the band wouldn't you want them to have the success they deserve and share it for that reason?
ChildrenOfOwls no because the experience is so good you don’t want to ruin the sentiment it might have to you
@@ChildrenOfOwls So many songs ruined by ex-friends ex-lovers. You share a song with someone, have a falling out, the music just constantly reminds you of that, and it adds a level of disdain for the song.
@@ChildrenOfOwls have you heard of to each their own ? I agree w him
@@yepYup22 gatekeepers
so much better than the black keys song "mess around" so much better. This is beautiful.
+Jesus Diaz Dan Auerbach produced the whole album.
+Chase Armstrong I knew that but I didn't expect a song that sounded like a cover. however, this is far better.
yes, that's true, but Dan Auerbach producing the album doesn't mean that they have to sound like the black keys. it was a bit annoying.
+Jesus Diaz exactly
Dan Auerbach mainly helped produce Mess Around in particular and even plays the guitar in it. Mess Around will be the most "Auerbachy" song on the album
"The wicked get no rest"
YEAH!! I got that reference!
Cage The Elephant-Aint no rest for the wicked "Oh, there ain't no rest for the wicked
Money don't grow on trees"
Cage The Elephant-Trouble "Will I come to pass or will I pass the test.
You know what they say, yeah, the wicked get no rest."
Lyrical geniuses referencing their old most popular song, CTE everyone.
other songs reference this is well. I think one is in melophobia
+Ånthøny E Oh my god, those lyrics played just as I read that!!!
Bart Skampson awesomee!
+Bart Skampson (Rude Boy) Damn dude, the first time someone pointed it out to me, it happened the same way. I read it in his response in time of when i was hearing it. The fuck.
+Bart Skampson (Rude Boy) nah illuminati SAME!!!
this song def grew on me...i cant get enough of it now...
how old are ya? 1 year old?... leave it growing.
+David Wong it will never stop growing, they are too much alike all the greatest bands, that made the greatest genre of music...
all their music grows on me LMAO
Ya the first few listens I thought it was mid but now I hear the guitar and the way it mixes with the vocals it is beautiful
I don't know why people say this year sucks in music (although the most famous songs that appears in the top 10 of Billboard and played on the radio thousands of time)
This year we got so many good albums.
And the proove of this is I'm too lazy to put all the good artists who made awesome albums this year, they might be like one thousand artists
Check out Hippo Campus. They're amazing
+Chris Pasion there awesome
I will help u; Unknown mortal orchestra, Tame Impala, Florence and the machine, The Vaccines, Noel Gallagher, Courtney Barnett, Alabama shakes, Foals, Blur, Muse, Iron Maiden. and lot of really good bands. 2015 has been a great year for music. if your base your argument in a billboard top, you're making a great mistake, just because current music or mainstream music sucks since 10 years ago.
Jesus Diaz I know, I was going to say that. Thanks for putting the comment for me
+Jesus Diaz wait blur has a new album!!!
To me what makes Cage the Elephant one of my favorite bands is they never settle with the same sound. They're always tinkering growing their sound. You can hear their evolution with each album.
How could this video possibly get 608 dislikes? This is perfection at its finest
because its a total rip off. listen to "where is my mind" by the pixies
+Michael Savage they sound NOTHING alike
Lots of Pixies fans maybe don't like that it sounds like "Where is my Mind"
Right???
+Michael Savage It doesn't sound THAT similar. It sounds slightly inspired, maybe. But they're obviously two very different songs.
this chord progression makes me feel weird in the best possible way. especially the second chord.
Liam McFarland
Liam McFarland listen to alex turners stuck on the puzzle
its an e on guitar
It's really interest how the different music structures (scales, chord progressions, etc.) affect our phsyche. This video my be interesting for you: czcams.com/video/4rrCJ9Em_h8/video.html
I’m here because of the new strangers commercial lol

So pumped for the album its unreal especially since dan auerbach is producing it
pls no auerbach
+Annie G really? I didnt knew this! awesome I enjoyed few songs in BK last album
+Israel Hernandez Velazquez listen to The Arcs Dan Auerbach made that band it's more him I'd say. And better than The Black Keys imo. I think this album will have more The Arcs than The Black Keys. But of course with its own CTE ingredients as well
+Jose Melendez thank you! I just listen put a flower in your pocket and you were right! they are great! dan´s fuzz really kicks!
***** great song, outta my mind is my favorite haha
"is tamra home?" Watch out for the strangers.
"Spoke a lot of words don't know if I spoke the truth"
Dont be toxic xxx good lyrics yanoooo
Much better than Mess Around. The new album may have hope yet.
+Tyler McKee I wasn't a huge fan of Mess Around either, but Melophobia was my favourite stuff yet so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. This is a good sign I think, i always enjoy their mellow songs (Telescope, Cigarette Daydreams, Rubber Ball, Right Before my Eyes, etc).
+metaitachi Yea I love Melophobia. Thank you happy birthday is my favorite tho- I'm more of a rock person haha. Can't wait to see the whole new album !
+metaitachi i like their mellow songs from their last couple albums, but the self titled album and Perfect Confusion albums have some of my favorite high energy songs of all time
Cory Baxter Love Flow too and the alternate version of Right Before My Eyes :)
Stfu
chorus makes it sound like an Everclear song. love it.
+IBanged YoMomma YES! My first thought too was that this is so 90's but so good.
So true!
+IBanged YoMomma omg I thought the same thing!
Why does this reminds me of Pixie's Where is my mind?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that
I have those back to back on my playlist
my thoughts exactly
reminds me of a beetle's song. when he reference "no rest for the wicked" I'm 32 and this is my favourite band...out now.
Lenny Ruggiero Beatles*
this song makes my day everytime i hear it on the radio
What's everyone bitching about? Mess Around is good and so is this track. Keep it up CTE, I can't wait for the full thing and hopefully you'll just keep the good times coming.
I liked Mess Around but I was kinda disappointed. This track definitely made up for it though
Mess Around was way too repetive and sounded way too much like The Black Keys who are horrible
+BIGxBOSSxx1 The Black Keys are horrible? What? The Black Keys are great, even though I like Cage the Elephant better I can say that The Black Keys are not a bad band.
Every song is like a broken record. No originality
+BIGxBOSSxx1 I strongly disagree. For example, Weight of Love is a lot different than say Gold on the Ceiling.
Surprised no one has commented on the Ain't No Rest For the Wicked reference
Glad somebody else noticed it! :D
+Matt Kirchhoefer Same!
+Matt Kirchhoefer clever line
+Matt Kirchhoefer what reference?
+Matt Kirchhoefer pretty fucking sick right?
“Got so much to lose, got so much to prove, god don’t let me lose my mind” will always be my favorite song lyric
i remember listening to this on the last day of middle school, those years really flew by
/hug
The first verse part sounds like arctic moneys
Whole song sounds just like Stuck on The Puzzle
+xxxSpaghetti420xxx I love your name and your picture
Yes indeed! Got that feeling too.
grace matherne its the same chords
Why is it that everyone hated mess around?
I liked it, but it seemed very bland compared to their other music. It also kinda feels like The Black Keys took over that song and it just isn't the same.
The guitarist for The Black Keys who played on that song stripped away the uniqueness and originality of CTE and instead inplemented his own layer of repetitive, boring and unorginal bullshit onto a song that would have been great if CTE did it on their own.
+Griffin Girard the black keys in my opinion are still good though :)
Katie McNasty The Black Keys play like a broken record.
people say that cage the elephant are always unique and original but never compared ty Happy birthday to Doolittle.
This song has helped me through the hardest times of my life 🙌🏽✨
Many a mushroom trip with cage the elephant. They are the best band to trip to. Nature is the only pure beauty in this world folks
Named my red tail boa after this song. It came on the other day and she was draped across my shoulders, and she's an 8ft long snake who is new to our reptile rescue and has a lot of behavioral problems, so it seemed fitting. Trouble on my left, trouble on my right, I've been facing trouble almost all my life.
I don't know if the fact that it's late here is playing a part, but this made me lose it omg. I don't even know if it was meant to be that funny but HAHAGA
omg I'd love to have a red tail boa, they just get so big and my house is so small rip
Lucy Bois I understand those feels, I had to move simply to get more space for my animals
An then it eats you
I was expecting some sort of terrifying ending.
Cage the Elephant did it, AGAIN.
They made me FEEL. Who else is hyped?!
This song reminds me of The Pixies: Where is my mind?
Claire Rousseau lol it's from the background vocals
Claire Rousseau similar background vocals but not lyrics.
Similar lead guitar
Mrsteisag2 Hummmm nope x) Trouble's is much more difficult 😔
Claire Rousseau the pixies have always been a huge influence for cage the elephant
this song makes me feel so much nostalgia for early high school that I cant listen to it without getting teary eyed lmao
SO refreshing to find good new music
Is Tamara home?
Because you were home
Cornball🤡🤡🤡
You know what they say “the wicked get no rest” amazing reference to their own song. Genius C.T.E
Their best album yet IMO. Straight from the 70's.
This song is my summer. Going on June 23th to Spain, I knew I would not see my friends for at least one month. I had some feelings days especially before my departure, met someone. Really, thinking about my life on that plane listening to Trouble wow...wish I could live again moments like that one. I had so much expectations and I didn't wanted to leave my friends here, we had so much to do again ! Then I came back and nothing as it was before.
I feel you, I wish I could go back in time too.. I want to be 15 again. I want to love life like I once did.
Jesse S Who told you I was 15 ?
TheFocz I'm talking about myself, I want to be 15 again cause it's a time I'm missing, just like you're missing the time before you went in spain.
Ah it's fine ;) I didn't take it like this at first. But yeah, those were the days I guess
it sounds like my experience, in Spain too. best summer of my life! 💜
God damn this band knows how to bring it so hard.
This song. This song, man. It just shows how much this band has matured over the course of their 4 albums. Each album has its own great qualities, but this one shows CTE's maturity and true excellence as a band.
“god, don’t let me lose my mind” the line that made me realize how much i liked this

I'm so addicted to this song. I can't stop listening to it. It's like a drug to me.

This man makes such amazing music. It's all so beautiful
This song reminds me of when it was 2006 and my family would always go to this one mall, but unfortunately it got demolished a few years later. This is the only thing that reminds me of the mall.
Hey, I just came here to this song from the ad Amazon commercial called : A New World | Every Day Better
So the Pixies finally met Vampire Weekend. Cool.
Isn't that just beautiful

Solid Föx :)
Not exactly, the Pixies met Timber Timbre here!
No, pixies and vampire weekend looked at these guys and wanted to be them.
What a track! Simply amazing how his vocals are evolving, so psyched for this collection of new totally pure rock n`roll music, much love!

Very Beatlesque - I'm amazed how this group's sound keeps evolving nicely
love this song !!

Love this song, such a timeless piece ❤️
Hearing these two songs that they've released it looks like matt's voice is "cleaner" in this album. Like, he's sounding more similar to how he sounds live.
Yeah that's the effect Dan Auerbach will have on a band :)
+AlternateJunkie Well, by now, I'm liking it! (love the black keys though)
+AlternateJunkie I dont think it has as much to do with Dan Aurbach as much as Matt Schultz not being able to (or not wanting to) pull off harsher vocals. Even with proper technique, you can only scream your head off for so long before you give out.
+Tyler McKee definitely correct. He literally screamed, instead of using proper technique, in the earlier years. While it sounded fucking awesome, that's horrible for your voice, as it destroys your vocal chords.
this song is just so amazing it's so soothing
Cage the elephant has a very unique sound to it- I see it especially in this and cold cold cold
