    One of the best videos I've seen so far. I'm looking to buy an e60 within the next month. I'm tied between the petrol and diesel versions. It's a 35 mile journey each way to work and I've heard that diesel BMWs cost more on maintenance than petrol versions. I'd be interested in hearing which would be better to own taking in traveling plus maintenance. After lockdown ends I'll travel 1-2 hours each way on weekends as well

    I have a 2006 525i.
    Had it for almost two years.
    Didn’t come with the manual.
    Can you please tell me is it an e60 or which motor I have n52 or otherwise. I live in Canada and I think the car came from Florida.

    I've always wanted a bmw and there are so many clean e60s here in Ireland and go for great prices however the majority are 2.0d n47 engine. I know the 2007 and below models have the m47 which is more reliable but over here, the insurance absolutely murder you if the car is older than 10 years.
    Im going to chance getting a low mileage 2009 2010 520d E60 and make sure i use the best oil from the start and change it every 10 000 kms. I dont have a heavy foot with my cars so hopefully all goes well

    Good Day!
    Im sorry for bothering you but i need an advice from a professional that knows and understand BMW’s.
    My name is Valdislav and i am a student in Germany.I have never owned a BMW but i always wanted to try the e60 and now i think i can afford buying the car.My car in the moment is an old VW Golf 4 1.4l Benzin/Petrol,nothing much.I am interrested in a BMW e60 530i 231HP without direct injection and a Manual transmission i have understood that the engines N52 and M54 are one of the best choices.Here in germany many e60 have full service books and TÜV till 2020. However i have watched your videos and other as well and have seen that those models tend to fill with water and there are other things that i still don’t know. I need your advice if it is a good idea at this stage of my life to buy a vehicle like that,if it is going to be problematic and if there is anything else i need to consider before buying one?
    Thank you very much in advance for your time!!

    Hi great vid, good insight into the little niggles that crop up so hats off to ya!
    Having recently looking at some and deciding on a nice spec'd one (power but still good mpg) but not the m5 maybe one day!
    I'm just wondering some bits mentioned, 1- about the lighter sockets drawing to much power checking all the fuses they seem good but noticed it does have a pure highway device 12v, so guessing the last owner tapped into that line but is there anything else I could check?
    2 - the drain plugs you referred to in the boot are they perm pulls or semi plugged ones?
    3 - the silicone you mentioned for sensors, how did you access those, boot internally or underneath? Many thanks in advance :)

    Bought an early 08 520d SE E60 lci with 144,000 for 2.5k, had it for 4 months now at 148k cant fault it, very responsive & achieving 50mpg average. Only thing I’ve noticed is power steering res looks like it’s had a bit of seepage. In my opinion the e60 is a timeless design & plan on keeping until the wheels fall off, not like most of my friends being 21 wanting to finance the latest hot hatches

Is it worth buying? The interior looks sooooo good and I understand the performance is also good. The price currently sits at £3750. With 3 months warranty from dealer. Please advise if this is a car to go for interms of its cost and the miles it's done. BMW Doctor I got 59’ plate LCI 520d n47 m sport , I have a weird slight ticking and it seems to be coming from around the water cooled EGR I’ve been told by a bmw specialist that I have nothing to worry about and also advised the short servicing is detrimental , however I’m not convinced and I am not lying to you when I say it’s making me lose sleep , no obvious cold start ticking , just when it’s warmed up I get that ever so slight tick from EGR

      The ticking is the injectors firing mate there is nothing to be concerned about that is perfectly normal you also have a vacuum pump there aswell which is sucking all the excess vacuum and diesel do not worry and it’s nothing of no concern if you are worried about anything relating to the car I would advise using ista to properly properly scan your car it’s something we provide if your interested in purchasing also do not leave the service life long at all ignore there bullshit they do that and that shit destroys your engine OIL AND DIESEL are crucial and critical for your engine and the pumps

    3 stage manifold?

    • @BMWDoctor
      @BMWDoctor  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes 3 stage means throttle body bolts on and 2 disa flaps one under neath one at the top.
      If your in the USA you will not have this on 528xi or 328xi or the I models this is only on 530i models and SOME 330i models in the USA depending on the year

      @@BMWDoctor Ok, been a E39 guy all my life. Didn't know there was 2! disa flaps. But am Considering a E60 120K 2008 Manual soon (UK). You got a garage?

    • @BMWDoctor
      @BMWDoctor  Před 4 lety

      Master Senior no I do it all from home where in the Uk are you i wouldn’t look at a manual mate 😌 the zf box is excellent on these and don’t give issues don’t believe any of these us guys telling you about problems it’s bollocks mate trust me
      That’s because of the heat they have and how they drive them we don’t get them issues here at all mines on 160k in original fluid and box still drives perfect and smooth it’s all about you as a owner I do take private work if you wanted too
      I will also state mate the disa flaps on these are NOT CHEAP you can’t buy cheap ones like you can for m54 engine everywhere bmw made this a strictly dealer only pet at a cost of £249 each same with the solenoids £350 for 2 and that goes the same for the n53 engine aswell

    The manufacturer recommends a coolant flush every 24k miles or 2 years. Should we not change it?

    • @BMWDoctor
      @BMWDoctor  Před 4 lety +1

      Mate stop living like the us people and come down to reality look outside the USA instead of just focusing on the bullshit your people tell you it’s like in the USA teacher you lot don’t look outside your own country for nothing hence why your so behind on stuff WHY ARE YOU CHANGING THE COOLANT the same as WHY SO YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR EVERYTHING HAVE YOU NOT LEARNT new cars have a power down command from modules YOU DO NOT NEED TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR NOTHING no live signals are sent while the key is not active or near the car
      I seriously don’t get why a lot of you guys believe so much crap from all these other youtubers who know nothing about these German vehicles they go by FORUMS that’s where there knowledge comes from and guess what the FORUMS are full of S**t they know nothing aswell there PART FITTERS same as what every other youtuber is on here that’s why they replace everything in the car and say they fixed it when in reality the reason they replaced everything is because there so dumb and dopey and slow they couldn’t find the ONE MAIN PROBLEM right in front of there face

      Do not listen to that either if you follow what they say that’s how you end up damaging your waterpumps over there and then bleeding the crap out of them do you not understand these cars have electric
      Waterpump to bleed them is not as straight forward as one thinks because when you fill the coolant from empty that coolant doesn’t get into the waterpump straight away so when your cycling the pump to bleed the system for the first few minutes that PUMP runs dry and what happens well I will tell you what happens the coolant lubricates the pump internals and when it runs dry causes it to burn out and that’s why you lot over in the USA always cry constant about your waterpumps failed and that’s why here ours don’t fail as we DONT TOUCH THE COOLANT

      @@BMWDoctor I believe that. My brother in law works at a dealership and said most of the mechanics don't have any training, and you would have better luck going to a pep boys. Not sure how accurate that is, but I think as you've mentioned, learning the car for yourself and performing the work yourself is the best way to have the control and know the car is being taken care of. Service centers here in the US just don't have the trained professionals to maintain machines like these. That's why VW discontinued the touareg in the us. It was a sad day

    • @BMWDoctor
      @BMWDoctor  Před 4 lety +2

      Thomas Tague they never here vw still make that car here you know how big Vw group is here in the Uk ??? And Europe the golf r is our most popular car at this present time it’s something I don’t think the USA got as you don’t have the right fuel grade to have that car as it’s way way to powerfull and needs a high burning octane you guys lose out on a lot of cars because of your fuel grade you need to get back to buying from Saudi Arabia instead of making your own as your loosing big time it’s like you guys get these 128i 328i 528i and all this XI crap here we don’t even get none of that stuff we never heard of that that’s a South African made car only I have said it many times and will say it again bmw in Munich and Febi bilstein during a meeting with me both confirmed
      They send you guys all the manafacturer defect parts to your country as you have no quality control and the government in the us has so many parts stores they need to fill all this part stores requests and that’s why more and more are opening up because they want cheap parts to make your parts fail so then you buy again they told me all parts that don’t meet the strict quality control procedure that the EU HAS goes over to you bmw said they have no dealing with South Africa plant and they make shit quality parts as all there body panels and parts are sources from China and made there and not made in Germany so they send crap parts along with it it’s all to do with you guys left Saudi Arabia and stopped buying oil so now everyone hates the USA so whatever they can do to destroy them and stop your enjoying anything they will
      Obviously it’s not your fault but you live in a country which has no care to other country’s outside this is why again
      A lot of people know nothing about coding and programming and why us guys in the EU ARE SO FAR AHEAD WITH THIS because we look outside I was learning this from a guy in Romania and Poland why because I like to deal with every race and culture and not just my own that’s why as I said from the start everyone else’s CZcams channels will fall while mine rises to the top as cars are getting more and more computerised and guess what none of these American guys have the knowledge or the skills to do it
      Only me
      Here mate if we are sold a car from bmw and the prt fails IMMEDAITELY WE CAN SUE them BIG BIG TIME and that’s the same today if I went to the store and the part failed on my car they would have to pay me compensation there is to many company’s in the Uk and to many rights they can’t play like that here with us as the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT same with dealership here mate I used to work there dealership here is NOTHING like the USA trust me here they make you coffee tea give you food while you wait you have your own lounge area with tv you can watch your car being done on a tv screen you guys don’t even know what your missing
