- Thinking of skipping Crete? Think again, because I'm going to show you the best kept secret in all of Greece, the island of Crete!! In the video, you will see WHAT TO EAT and WHERE TO EAT in Crete, including a visit to some of the island's best wineries for the ultimate Greek island food and wine tour. For breakfast, I'll take you to the best espresso bar in Heraklion, the capital city of Crete. From there, I'll take you to Douloufakis winery in the mountaintop village of Dafnes for a wine tasting and lunch in the vineyard. For dinner, I'll take you to a local taverna for the BEST slow-food dinner in Greece. Then, I'll take you across the island to Chania where we will go off-roading through the famous Manousakis vineyard all the way to the top of the mountain for the most beautiful panoramic view of the island, followed by a wine tasting and Greek taverna-style lunch. Beautiful video! Crete is really an amazing place.
Greek food is divine. Greece has truly the most perfect exceptional ingredients and heavenly dishes. If you have heavenly dishes made up of these ingredients you have simply out of this world level food. And I am not lying. Even just something simple as lambs or goats or other animals. While they eat dry foods or grasses all over the world, Greece is the herb garden of Europe, with 80% mountains with an exceptionally high biodiversity and among which large mountains overfilled with herbs. ALL these animals wander around all across in Greece and they eat these herbs. Not only do these animals have an incredible life, but they eat the most healthy exceptional ingredients. And THAT is the meat that you eat. Unmatched meat quality and taste bar none.

We took the food tour in Athens that you posted on CZcams with hosts Julia and George and it made our vacation so much more memorable. Crete is definitely on our bucket list.

It depends what you want from your holiday but Crete is very beautiful with nice food,beaches,culture monuments! Pelononisos is also a great option too!
I recomend it for more than vacation . You will fall in love with Creta 🤟

I have to say that I nearly stopped the video halfway through, because it seemed as if I was watching a long food commercial. I cringed through the infomercial, and enjoyed seeing Balos beach near the end.

A bug thanks for showcasing Crete. Normally in Greece videos only Athens & islands of Mykonos, Santorini, etc. are the only ones featured. I remember our very own nice beaches in the Philippines with aquamarine, turquoise waters with powdery soft, white sands in Boracay, Aklan; El Nido and Coron in Palawan; Malapascua Island in Cebu; Panglao Island in Bohol; Cloud 9 area for international & local surfers in Siargao Island.
Hmmm...thinking on that sauce mix (I am curious if it could be improved a bit)~ gonna research Crete more. Bet that all is so tasty! Thank you to the restaurant and you for the neat video!

Everything looks amazing and worth the travel. For travelers staying at hotels or airBnB, how is transportation around the island if needing to go 45-75 minutes? Taxi, Uber, BOLT, buses, etc... maybe they have a specific one if available. I know many places are different and I will be traveling to Crete May - June, and other islands so something I should start to look into.
Crete is a big island,and although you can travel by bus or by boats, I think your best option will be to rent a car ! ( you will have the freedom to go to places that otherwise you wouldn’t be able to reach) . Just make sure that you are holding international driving licens !

The most of them aren't Cretan foods they're something like Cretan with Cretan ingredients mixed with other ingredients and other cultures. Apaki is Cretan ntakos salad antikristo traditional foods

I’m sorry to say that you did NOT eat a single traditional Cretan dish on your food tour. You really missed the mark with this video. I’m sure a lot of cretans are disappointed by the way you portrayed everything food related. Better luck next time I guess.
I guess a return trip is in order, I can think of worse things. Now my advice, these are Cretan businesses and Cretans, working hard to share what they do with the rest of the world, try to show some love and support towards them, it’s been a rough year for everyone.

A nice vlog but what really annoys me is how most travelers, tourists mispronounce and stress the wrong syllables in most words. I am not saying it's your fault since locals don't explain the correct way. Eg it isn't ChAnia but ChaniA.
Sad that none of your "Cretan" food experience was actually Cretan. What a missed opportunity.
