  • Hello everyone. Thank you so much to everyone who purchased The Coil Buddy! I want to share some tips on how to use it effectively. Memory wire bracelets can be challenging because of the different factors that can affect bead alignment. This video addresses those issues as well as some other tips. I hope you enjoy it and please leave any comments or feedback down below if you have time.
    Here is a link to "The Coil Buddy Kit with Magic Rods" I featured in this video. If you're interested in purchasing the kit, it sells for $19.50.
    www.etsy.com/listing/85652917...
    You can also purchase just the Magic Rods (without the Coil Buddy Guide) if that's what you're interested in. The Magic Rods sell for $10.50 for a set of five 9-inch rods. I also sell them in 12-inch lengths and sets of 10 at a higher cost. Here's the link to The Magic Rods (9-inch length): www.etsy.com/listing/85942080...

    UPDATE: I've been experimenting with different gauge memory wire to see if there's an ideal thickness and it looks like the best thickness to use is .8mm (20 gauge) or thicker but then, of course, your beads need to have the right sized holes. Bigger and heavier beads usually do have larger holes so if you want to use them in your designs, you need to purchase thicker memory wire so you don't have to "retrain" your wire. The thicker wire holds your patterns in place a whole lot better. 😊

      I am soooo confused as to what memory wire to buy. Could you tell me what you buy? there are so many gauges. I find if I use a large size bracelet with large beads they are too heavy and the bracelet is floppy and doesn't hold its shape. You mentioned in a video you purchase your wire on amazon, please pass that information to me. Thank you

    Hi Luisa
    This video has been so helpful, I didn’t realise just how much science went into creating your bead buddy. I just can’t wait for mine to arrive. I am so happy for you that your invention is doing so well. You deserve all the success in the world. Our youngest Grandchild Tiarna, is with me watching your video and she loves the way you put the turquoise together with the other colours. She loves your work as much as me. She is 7 yrs old and a budding creator I believe. I learnt so much more about the process of using your fabulous new invention today and the great outcome, rather than just not guessing and hoping as has been my process to date. Very best wishes my talented friend. Love Jen xx 🦘🦘🦘🌸🌸🌸💜💜💜

    I'm so anxious to receive my Coil Buddy. Thanks for the fast shipping! It's good to know I can retrain memory wire because the only one I've ever made is stretched and doesn't fit right anymore. • @kimbain4368
    @kimbain4368 Před 3 lety

    What a handy helper tool this is. Ingenious! Go you! As a confirmed tool junkie, I know I'm going to have to have one of these. But still, as I talked about before, will it work for larger-sized wrists that make the coils stretch? I'm rather thinking that it may mess with the exact alignment of the beads, but I think the design would still be symmetrical, nonetheless. Memory wire doesn't stretch on me, but a few of my customers have larger wrists. I'm going to have to test this out on something. Because I believe it will still work. In other words, your main middle coil would still be centered, but the two on either side would each be a little further away from the center. But those two coils would still be symmetrical to one another, just a bit farther out from center. I wonder if just making each of your "rows" a bit longer would do the trick. I don't know if I'm even making sense. I'm confusing myself now (but it's a state of mind I'm well used to, so no worries). I'll test this out on something of a larger diameter and let you know what I find. Whatever, I'm very impressed with this tool, it's a great idea and a clever design. (And your bracelets are all lovely, too!) Also, I never knew one could train memory wire. Great tip!

    • @MistyMoonDesigns
      @MistyMoonDesigns  Před 3 lety

      Thank you Kim! I love your feedback because it’s always related to science, physics, and the functionality of a jewelry piece. You have a brilliant mind and I really value that. Yes, I think if you’re manipulating a 60mm diameter coil so that it fits slightly larger, it should work. Or you could use a 65mm coil and train it down to a smaller size. The only issue I see is that the anchoring beads above and below the center focal may not line up. Let me know how it goes so we can all learn. Thank you again my friend 😊❤️🌺🌸

    Hey everyone. I am so grateful that many of you purchased Coil Buddy but I am disappointed in myself for not shipping it out in a more substantial shipping package. So to make up for it, I will be sending everyone, who purchased Coil Buddy Version 1, a new one (at no extra cost to you) in a more substantial shipping box, and that includes international buyers. Additionally, I have redesigned The Coil Buddy with extra guidelines for 55mm and 65mm coil so EVERYONE will get the redesigned new Coil Buddy. It may delay my shipments by a couple of days but I'll be working super hard to get them all out to you as soon as possible. Thank you again! Hi Carol. Yes, the rods do accommodate 15/0s, however, your memory wire will need to be very thin and if you’re trying to load other bigger beads, you may have problems lining up patterns across multiple coils due to the weight of the bigger beads. I have never tried using 15/0s on memory wire but might try it! 🙂🌺🌼🌸

    I love this concept and your design, my major problem is my huge bone structure, how do you make the memory wire larger. My wrist is almost 8 inches, if your wondering yes I’m fat. lol but I have had this large bone since I was a small child back when I was skinny(fat because my meds the dr was giving me messed with my thyroid) but back as a child I couldn’t wear the popular Gogo boots (just gave my age away lol) because my legs where alway to big. I also can’t handle tight things on my or my wrist. Do they even make memory wire larger then 8 inches other then for the necklace. 😢

    • @MistyMoonDesigns
      @MistyMoonDesigns  Před 3 lety

      Karen, yes, you can buy 65mm memory wire which has an 8 inch diameter. The Coil Buddy currently only has markings for 60mm but I’m creating another with other smaller and larger circumference lengths. You may just want to use Magic Rods for now. Maybe you need a smaller diameter memory wire eg 55mm instead of say 60mm

    You should ask Wendy to help you with sales on your bead buddy and offer to give her a percentage of sales to everyone who buys thru her channel by giving a coupon code of say WENDY!10..... Just giving you an idea to get the ball rolling a bit. I bet she would help you. It sounds like your sales are doing great already but her channel gets a lot of publicity too. I plan to get one very soon when I locate your channel on Etsy.

    someone on your etsy said they did 7 row bracelet and I was wondering how she would do this since you only provide 5 rods? I wanted to make an even larger very dramatic one. Please advise. LOVE your teaching and wire kit and your demeanor is a class act imo. Thank you I am looking to use up my stash I have lots of seed beads so that is why I wanted to make many rows of beads. Are the rods suitable for small seed beads?

    • @MistyMoonDesigns
      @MistyMoonDesigns  Před 2 lety

      Hi Barbara. Thank you for your interest. I sell rods separately in both the 9” and 12” size. I sell the regular packs of 5 or deluxe sets which have 10 rods. Yes! They’re perfect for seed beads. Loading seed beads is a very daunting task without the rods. The rods make the job quick and easy because you can pick up the seed beads and then load them directly onto memory wire in multiples . 🙂🌺🌸🌼

    No one ever holds a bead in their hand like that, you put your beads on a beads on a mat and pick them up with your wire, unless you want to take longer than is necessary.

  • @BeckyJohnson-zs1vi
    @BeckyJohnson-zs1vi Před 6 měsíci

    I have been in the jewelry making world for 20 years and let me give you a bit of advice, lay your beads on a beading mat and pick them up with your wire. It will go so much faster and you won’t stick yourself with the wire.

    • @MistyMoonDesigns

      If you’re so experienced, what are you doing on my channel? Please don’t dictate how I make my jewelry. I’ve made hundreds of tutorials and I have just as much experience, if not more, as you. If I pick up the beads with my fingers it’s because I don’t want to fumble around looking for the hole while the bead is on the mat! 🙄
