Ya i noticed that as soon as the tape came out lol. GREAT book, read it years and years ago, but if I remember correctly they are basically copying directly from a few scene in the book.. wtf lol. If the director doesn't at least mention being inspired by house of leaves then I think that's kinda messed up :/

Interesting. Haven't seen Kevin Bacon in a horror movie since Stir of Echoes and Hollow Man. My favorite thing in this trailer is eerie element of his character realizing offbeat things about the structure of the house itself. I don't know why but that's what stood out to me more than random woman in tub imagery or cliche shadow people darting behind people. I love the idea of a family moving into the house and just slowly discovering bizarre things about the physics and engineering of their new home more so than "Oooohhhh echoey children laughter in the background" or "oooooh random shadow flying in front of the camera". Maybe I'm getting to that age where subtle horror is more scarier and interesting than in your face generic nonsense.
.....will be giving this movie a shot hoping that it's not some jump scare convoluted mess but something brilliantly creepy.
