Road-tripping family believes they spotted Gabby Petito’s van in video

- On August 27, the Bethune family was trying to find a spot to camp for the night when they found themselves in the Spread Creek camping area near Grand Teton National Park, where remains were found Sunday matching Gabby Petito's description.
Jenn Bethune said the van they passed by appears to be the converted camper van that Petito and her fiancé - and person of interest - Brian Laundrie, were using to travel. But it wasn’t until this past Saturday when she connected the dots.

There’s a video about John Walsh telling everyone the cause of death is beaten to death on Joseph Morris’s U Tube Channel & they show a clip in that video of a person in the field hands above his head whaling away😢 this is while the Brutents were driving by. I’ve seen that video of them driving by the van so many times & never noticed the person in the field until it was pointed out to us in this video he definitely killed her in that area.
What a sweet soul. She has her own tragic story yet her determination to assist Gabby’s family is relentless. Rest in heaven Gabby and Ethan .

She’s not determined to help them *despite* her own loss. Her own pain no doubt actually fuels it. Gabby’s parents are now in the same boat of having lost a child suddenly and violently, and this lovely woman can help them cope with that as well.

Jaynay, I have also lost a child in a car accident! It doesn't surprise me that this woman got involved and called the FBI. I speak from experience that when you lose a child, many bereaved parents advocate for other parents that have lost a child. I applaud her for being forthright in helping to find Gabby! As I write this Gabby has been found. Heartbreaking for her family and friends who loved her. 😣

This family are heroes. They searched their videos, notified the FBI first, then sought help with the van life community to narrow the search. The search area was several hundred thousand square acres. RIP Gabby.
@gene according to their live stream last night after sharing with FBI they asked their subs to share with other van life communities to see if anyone else could search their videos. What I gather is van life community is very open to helping one another. I’ve never seen so many ❤️ in a live stream.

@Punch Promaskers Brian actually had choked gabby out before to where she’s passed out. In the car he had scratches on him, the only reason someone would scratch is if they are in able to punch which leads me to think he was over powering her at some point. People don’t scratch as their first option, they punch and if she is unable to punch then that’s why she was scratching…

This woman is a testament to the strength of the human heart. To exude so much light and love for others after losing her own child...after living through her darkest days....you gotta love her for finding strength and hope to continue life and make the absolute best of it in the face of tremendous loss. I'm wondering why this case is getting so much attention. Obviously it's important at this point to find Brian, and deliver justice to Gabby's loved ones. But it almost feels like cases like these are a distraction from what missing peoples cases most commonly are, which are sex trafficking and abductions taking place every day and going unsolved without any massive nationwide effort from investigators and media like this case is getting.

Bless this lovely family that went through their footage and remembered seeing this van. This is why it’s important to be observant of your surroundings. Pay attention to what you see because you never know when it could be important.
Such a wonderful family to have come across the van. I’m so sorry for the loss of her son. If my son passed I don’t think I would be able to enjoy life as this woman does still. I worked with a man that lost his son and it tears him up every day still years later. He breaks down emotionally on his lunch or after work. Gabby is terribly heartbreaking, we all want justice.
I believe they have had a lot of individual and family counselling to enable them to go on and they have 3 other children to care for. Such wonderful people.

This footage reduced the search for Gabby from the "Western United States" to a specific campsite. That's amazing, I'm glad at least her family gets closure, even if they don't get their daughter back.
If it weren't for this video telling them where to look, who knows if they would have ever found her.
@@JIBtacos Seeing as they found her relatively quickly after they located the campsite, and the fact that the lady said the park was pretty packed, I think they would have, however, finding her this quickly might have preserved invaluable forensic evidence that would have otherwise been lost.

OFFICER ROBINSON OF THE UTAH POLICE BODY CAMERA VIDEO SHOWED HE DROVE BRIAN LAUNDRIE TO HIS HOTEL AFTER TAKING PICTURES OF HIS FACE AND NECK SCRATCHES(AND HANDS) WHEN HE ALLEGEDLY SUSTAINED SLAPS ON HIS FACE FROM GABBY PETITO WHILE HE WAS DRIVING
DURING THEIR FIGHT.
THE UTAH POLICE TROOPER’S BODY CAM SHOULD BE DISTRIBUTED TO ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES THROUGHOUT THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES AS A TRAINING TOOL.
THE VIDEO SHOWED A 22 YEAR OLD GABBY PETITO CRYING HYSTERICALLY AS IF OVERWHELMED BY BEING ON THE ROAD FOR MONTHS, AND SEEMED DAZED ON MEDICATION, NOT TALKING COHERENTLY DURING HIS INTERVIEW WITH POLICE OFFICER ROBINSON, AND IT BEHOOVES ME HE FAILED TO CALL HIS PARENTS TO RELEASE GABBY INTO THEIR CARE,
GABBY WAS LIKE A 14 YEAR OLD GIRL
LOOKING FOR HER MOM, AND YOU JUST SEPARATE HER FROM HER FIANCÉ JUST FOR THE NIGHT, SO THAT THEY WOULD CONTINUE THEIR FIGHT THE FOLLOWING DAY IS PREPOSTEROUS AND VERY RIDICULOUS.
IN SHORT, THE UTAH POLICE FAILED GABBY PETITO FOR NOT INVOLVING HER PARENTS WHO ARE NOW MOURNING THE LOSS OF THEIR DAUGHTER.

OVER NIGHT, AND RELEASED HER “ONLY” TO THE CARE OF HER PARENTS WHOSE PHONE NUMBER GABBY PETITO GAVE THE POLICE OFFICERS FROM HER CELL PHONE.
IN SHORT THE UTAH HIGHWAY POLICE TROOPERS FAILED GABBY PETITO.
THAT’S WHY IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR THE BODYCAM RECORDED VIDEO MUST BE SHARED TO ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES
IN THE HOMELAND FOR “TRAINING PURPOSES!”

This entire case is just almost a perfect storm. Many people go missing like this and are never found. Luckily Gabby had a platform for people to be invested in her whereabouts and realize something was wrong, then you have this awesome lady and her family that also had a platform, happened to be in the area AND recording which ended up providing evidence.
As much as I agree with what you’re saying, it makes me sad. How many people out there are missing/have been murdered and won’t get this type of media coverage because they are not privileged enough to have thousands of people searching for them? Hopefully this case will encourage people to seek out missing people, regardless of their social media presence/news coverage.

THEY THE POLICE WERE TAKING PICTURES OF BRIANS ARM AND FACE, WITH LITTLE SCRATCHES, WOW, I AM NOT LAW ENFORCEMENT, BUT I COULD TELL BY THE WAY HE WAS ACTING HE WAS THE AGGRESSOR. THE MOAB POLICE SHOULD HAVE ARRESTED HER ON AUGUST 12 WHEN THE STOPPED THEM, AFTER I HEARD SOMEON HAD CALLED IN, BRIAN HAD PUSHED HER AND LOCKED HER OUT OF THE VAN. @David R The media has an elitism problem (and as a byproduct is not as diverse as it needs to be). But what also helped get attention to this case is this girl had a social media trail (catnip for the press) and her family held press conferences, the stepdad flew out west. Families who have missing loved ones need to be the squeaky wheel with the police and send press releases out.

If we have no idea who the person is as in we don't have a following of them or understand any background info it's gonna be really hard for people to be motivated to find them for example, imagine if the only thing we knew was that video footage of Gabby and Brian getting pulled over. A LOT of people thought at that time that it was her abusing him and I admit I did too, so people would not have been motivated to find her because they would think be killed her simply because he couldn't take her abusiveness anymore, when people saw the truth they realized she does have a reason to be searched for, just saying

When the camper van drove by and Gabbys back door of the van closed it was obvious only he was in there and Gabby was dead at this time- when they were pulled over by the police and the back door of the van was open we could see it was stuffed to the limit,it was highly unlikely two people could ever sit in the back in that state- The night before he most likely spent time staging her body and then later packing up their tent that morning and jumped into the back of the van when he saw the camper van driving down the road.........thats my take on it anyway....
Except they were both seen at the Wiggley Piglet Tex Mex Restaurant that morning / early afternoon on the 27th. Thinking they never pitched any tent.

A guy edited the video and from a distance when he zoomed in and slowed the video right down, the door was open and slowly closed you cant see it on this as its going to fast but once slowed right down and zoomed in you can see tge backdoor close and a pair on sandals on the ground behind the van
