  • Ever thought about escaping the spiralling costs and cramped carriages of public transport? Well, so too did Auto Trader's Phil Kendall, who has spent the last six months dodging tube fares and living with a Honda Forza 125cc. The Forza is a super-efficient scooter that features engine stop-start and a combined fuel consumption figure in excess of 100 miles. But does it stack up as an alternative, affordable commuting solution? Time to find out…

    An excellent review of the Forza 125. Informative, covers the relevant points and yes showing the scooter on the road. I note this is the original model and it has been updated from 2017 so certain negatives addressed. Well decided for me. In the event I did not get the VT125 Shadow or I did want a scooter at some stage when I do my CBT then I shall be getting this one.

    I'm from the United States & I have a couple of the Zuma 125 better known as the bws where you guys are from & I really love my scooters and I also have a Honda Grom also known as the MSX I for some reason prefer the Zuma over the Grom but I love both of them. I wish we had a 125 Forza out here we only have the 300cc version. & we have raced a almost stock Zuma against a stock Grom & the Grom barely wins but the Zuma is right on its ass and it's a 2009 Zuma vs 2018 Honda Grom n the only modification to the scooter is a TST variator with 10 + 11 gram roller weights Leo Vince exhaust.

    Nice review.
    you mentioned that a passenger will feel every bump because of the suspension, but how is it just for 1 rider?
    I have the Honda PCX and unfortunately I suffer a lot because of the suspension and I started to have lower back problems since I got it.

    The biggest reason to buy the forza was forgotten. Its more comfortable. Anyone spending 2000 more than a Pcx values the extra comfort.

    the pcx 125 is about 2/3 the price. not as big as this, so a different proposition with less weather protection & storage. both easy to run, and likely to be trouble-free, being Hondas.

      galih wahyutomo Its not that bad. I got my self one about 1year ago. To me it seems like the transmission needs half a second to spinn up to its effectivenes. In praxis this means holding back the Scooter with the rear brakes while applying half throttle, and then release. The power is enough to let most of todays cars behind. Even uphill. By cars i mean most european models, vw,bmw,mercedes..... what we also not should forget is its own weight of approx. 160kg

    • @galihwahyutomo2769
      @galihwahyutomo2769 Před 7 lety

      Mr Moose i also have a 110cc scooter and since it is a scooter its light weight and to me the engine is enough for rider but if there's passenger along the power seems need more even though it still can run fast and overtake cars. That's why i think the engine could be more.. imagined the forza which weight more and such enormous body

    • @gerrynightingale9045
      @gerrynightingale9045 Před 7 lety

      No...you're paying for Honda quality and technology, as well as import tariffs, etc.(I recently paid $1,200 USD (in the US) for a 2008 Honda 'Metropolitan' w/6,500 on the odometer, in 'pristine condition' with performance-mods already done) Did I pay too much? No, I don't think so, not when you consider the many years of use I'll get from it...and the incredible fuel economy!) The 'PCX-125' is not available in the U.S. w/the 'stop/start' technology...neither is the 'Forza'. I think that's driving up the price in the U.K and Europe...since buyers here demand advanced Honda tech, and aren't able to get it, so sales are 'sluggish'

    I'm just wondering if there are any electric bikes available on the market that is similar in spec/range to this Honda Forza...

    • @AutoTraderTV
      @AutoTraderTV  Před 7 lety +1

      Some top-tier manufacturers have started offering electric bikes, albeit for similar pricing to full-size touring motorbikes. There are other, lesser known manufacturers that are entering the market too, but they have no established pedigree or reliability ratings. Electric bikes remains both an immature and expensive market in the UK, but as infrastructure matures, we’re certain they'll become a more affordable and accessible way of getting around.

    • @reko3103
      @reko3103 Před 7 lety

      Auto Trader Ah yes... Price - a major hurdle for electric bikes (aside from range)

    • @gerrynightingale9045
      @gerrynightingale9045 Před 7 lety +1

      When you consider that the 'Forza' is 'state-of-the-art' and that Honda can and will do damn near anything to 'make things right' for a buyer that has some issue w/their machine...the 'price' is not so 'out of line'. (the same is not true of Piaggio & 'Vespa'...a dealer may help you...but the manufacturer? Good luck with that!)
