The old Pottermore quiz was a lot more in depth, longer and honestly more aesthetically pleasing. At some point when they switched to wizarding world online it changed to the ten question quiz it is now.

I remember that. It was actually accurate! The new one seems so random, depending on which question you get you'd get a completely different house. I get that it's "part of the magic" but they should know people who do the quiz actually want to know. :/

You guys should check your ilvermorny houses, wands, and patronuses. The quizzes vary in length because there’s a large pool of questions that get somewhat randomly thrown at you for each quiz.

The sorting quiz choses only a few questions to determine what house you should be in. There's a quiz that includes all the questions that can be asked in the 'official' one. It also tells you what percentage of each house you are!

The thing is, the sorting hat takes your opinion into account. It did it with Harry. The hat was going to put him into Slytherin, but Harry had decided he didn't want to be in Slytherin, so the Hat chose the second best house.

In case you're wondering, there are 4 different quizes that can be taken through the site.
What you should do is do one of the other online ones. Google "Pottermore sorting hat quiz all questions".
Take that one, and it'll give you all 4 quizes worth of questions and sort you that way.
I would genuinely love it if you guys did the astrology thing - if you get rising sign and moon sign as well, you'll get a nicely rounded picture rather than just the one personality-type summary.

Wisdom is the ability to apply your knowledge. Therefore, it is not the same as learning. I was sure I would be either Slytherin for my cunning or Ravenclaw for my wisdom and learning. I do not have Gryffindor qualities!

the wizarding world quiz is not reliable at all....I haven't taken the quiz because I know that I will question my identity and I don't wanna be in another house except gryffindor because I've always identified as one
You didn't finish the quiz. The results show you your wand, Ilvermorny house, and patronus.

Pottermore is the official quiz and I think most people recognize those results, but you can't find it much anymore. I found the full version by searching Pottermore house test. The one you took seems to be a shortened version.

The Pottermore quiz gives you questions like black or white?” to gauge how decisive you are not which one you choose.
I think people don't understand that you don't have to be ONLY this or that to be in a certain house, it is more what is the most important to you or the strongest qualities, you can have ambition but you not a Slitherin because you are not willing to do everything to achieve your goal no matter what it takes even the worst, so yes you have ambition but you are not a Slitherin. A lot if people get mistaken. Before they revamped the website, the sorting hat quiz was longer and a lot better I feel ! I still think Evan is a huffelpuff ( we are NOT silly Katelyn 🤣🤣) and Katelyn is a ravenclaw for sure!!! Yes I'm a very proud Huffelpuff 😊

When I first took this test when it first came out I was Ravenclaw, then I took it recently and I got Gryffindor, which I hate. Lol 😂 if anyone ask I’m a Ravenclaw.
I guessed from the beginning that Evan would get Gryffindor and Katelyn would get Ravenclaw.
I think there is a longer version online with all the questions. Maybe that is the quiz you saw others take. I'm a slytherin btw.
I'm also totally into astrology I would recommend cafeastrology it is super detailed and also kinda accurate at least for me and my friends.

I think you can take the old sorting hat quiz somewhere. I felt like the old one was more accurate to the houses as well.
With the quiz maybe for each question there was 4 or 5 questions that it could have been that mean roughly the same thing to create the illusion of unique quizzes e.g. with the black and white and flip a coin it randomly selected flip a coin over black and white, but both the questions serve the same purpose. Also I think the flip a coin question it might have been if you were 50%__ house and 50%__ house it would be to choose between the houses

You should look at the pottermore quiz. This is the one that a lot longer and is actually the official website made by the author and her franchise etc. Your quiz seemed fanbased. The pottermore has more flesh around the bone for descriptions, etc.

I love the game Obama lama, we played along with Husband, we both aren’t 1st English speakers, but his is a lot better than mine, he guested a few, I just guest the one of Katy Perry and the military hahaha, I was so happy! I've always thought of Evan as more Gryffindor-ish since he's always the one making changes to the plan and going off the rails sometimes. Being afraid/unsure of an outcome and still taking the steps to get it takes courage! Realistically, I think people forget how much overlap someone can have with other houses, like Hermione in the story. She could have been in Ravenclaw and the Sorting hat debated sometime about it. Does that mean that she has nothing in common with Ravenclaw after being sorted into a different house? No, she is still brilliant and smart. Just because Evan was sorted into Gryffindor doesn't mean he loses what makes him a Hufflepuff.
honestly I think doing this quiz in the first place is a no no....I didn't take the official sorting quiz because a it's too short and b it's not deep enough....I chose gryffindor as my house not because it's harry's house but because I value bravery and facing my fears instead of running away from them also justice✨ hermione had alot of ravenclaw traits but because she valued bravery above everything else she was sorted into gryffindor ⭐

I used to get sorted into Ravenclaw and then I worked retail for two years and now I always get Slytherin. 🐍 Out of curiosity, I searched if anyone has sorted the Meyers Briggs personality types into houses, and indeed they have. I'm INFJ and it says I belong to Ravenclaw 🤣
Don't worry Evan, reading the books as fast as you can was a common experience for some Potter fans. I read HBP in a 24 hour period and simply ✨didn't sleep.✨
The night of the final movie premiere my cousins and (future) husband camped out in line and darth vader showed up on a lifted truck blasting the HP theme 😂 so fun.
I took the pottermore quiz a long time ago and it was much better than this one. Did they just update it or what? This version does not seem nearly as good as when I took it. Also, I remember mine giving a whole lot more information about my house when I took it. Not just 3 words and a list of who is in that house. That's silly.

Update: I took it again with the way the quiz is now and it put me in Gryffindor. Yeah, no, I feel my first test with the old pottermore quiz was much more accurate but I guess that version doesn't exist anymore? How disappointing. I feel like this one really does just flip a coin for the answer.

The quiz you guys took - on the Wizarding World site - has a pool of possible questions that it picks from, but it never asks all of them. Because of that, it’s not as accurate as it could be. If you wanted to redo this for accuracy (and/or content), you can look up ‘sorting hat quiz all questions’ and hit the “gotoquiz.com” link, which should be the first one. It’s longer and more interesting, I think, and considerably more accurate than the Wizarding World one.
