Thanks for the review, really appreciate it. As other people have commented, I wish there were some different colour options. Thinking hard about one of these though and this was really helpful. Thanks again!
Well to be fair there were more than few mistakes here an there in this video :) But who cares? this a guitar demo not a chops demo! As long as Paul does not do the thing that should not be done (not tuning the guitar properly for the video! That would be sacrilegious).
After watching most of your videos on this series from Ibanez I got in touch with Sweetwater and switched the Q54 out for this model. I’ve got a boogered up left arm and fingers. Naturally, I want to play left handed but that hasn’t been working out, so like a determined moron I’m switching to right handed. My left hand is gonna need all the help it can get on the frets so I thought, while I’m at it let’s go for the angled frets.
The only peculiar thing for me is that, despite being headless, they still put a break angle passed the nut. Seems to remove the straight pull benefits, but I guess this way you can do bends behind the nut... but how many times do we as players ever do that? I'd be interested to see how the tuning stability held up compared to my other headless'. I mean, it's still a straight pull, but it *also* still has a break angle going downward. Regardless, Ibanez nailed it with this design, imo. Gorgeous looking
Will the bridge style accommodate larger string sizes? Looking to put 10-52's on one, but don't want to order it if not. Possibly even 59 on the low string.
I placed a preorder for the Ichi10 - is there much of a difference on the neck between the x models, which I guess are more of like a Wizard neck, and the regular Q models, which seem to be thicker and more strat-like? Also how is the string spacing, is it wide or narrow? I’ve read the specs but curious about the feel in the hands.
So to me as a super wizard player, the 19 to 19 felt really good, however as i stated in these videos i felt that i actually played better on the 21 to 22 none X necks? That surprised me alot. The spacing is great and i only noticed a difference as I've been playing my universe alot lately but on the whole these guitars feel really natural and familiar. 🤟🧟♂️🤟
@@Zaotar1 hi there! Can you pls share your experience with ichi10 in case you baught that? I also am confused between ichi10 and qx54. Is there really huge difference between the two. I am not that advanced player though .Your feedback will help me to decide. thanks in advance 🌸
I ended up canceling my order for other reasons. The ichi 10 has a slightly thicker neck, three single coil pickups instead of a humbucker and two single coils, and doesn’t have the slanted frets. That said, they won’t make much difference to a new player either way, and in my opinion you can’t miss with either. Slanted frets are really the biggest difference, but you get used to them very quickly.
oddly the slanted felt no different to me. I tend to play a lot lower though so cause of this chair I was quite high, this made the slanted frets work better I think.
@@PaulGlover Thanks Paul, for taking the time to reply! That’s awesome! Im an open minded guy! Ill give it a try! Its the prettiest model, but I hate the pick guard hahah. Just put in my preorder

Whereas, they really need to come up with more friendly name models.... do you imagine entering the guitar shop and asking if they have a .... what's the name of the model again ? and for this model, I would have liked a blue color on the back. I am not so fan of natural wood on one side and flashy colors on the other side. It works well with sunburst, amber color and so on, but not with blue. It's just my opinion. Where is the guitar made ?
@@PaulGlover between this guitar's 9 different switch options and the one with 2 humbuckers with 10 different options, which one you liked best sound-wise?
I'm sorry but the whole point of fan frets, other than being multiscale, is the ergonomic benefit of having the frets near the nut angled away from you on the 6th string, it allows your hand position to be a little better and puts less strain on the wrist. Having it angled this way completely defeats the purpose AND they're not even multiscale on top of that.
Makes more sense to me this way. More ergonomic for your wrist. Plus look at the way your index finger goes squint when doing a barre chord or a big stretchy chord. I'd need to try one but it's a small enough angle that it's not a massive deal either way
@@TheShinyShow Makes more sense the way I described or the way it is on that guitar? I'll agree it's a pretty small angle, but it slightly infruriating as it just wasn't necessary, and they already got it right with their headless basses: normal frets or fanned the correct way when multiscale.
@@Mattieval you can see it in my playing anyway, the major 7 drop 3 voicing kinda has my bar pointing inwards. It just feels right and iam not a big chord extention guy really. I also have may multi scale guitars but this is definitely more of a personal thing i think. 🤟🧟♂️🤟

Love everything except the color... really diggin the pickup configuration. Wish the ichi10 had an x fret option.

Hey man, thanks for the demo. Quick question, did you have a compressor on your signal chain for the clean portion?
No dude, I don't really use compression in my tones? Rightly or wrongly 🤘🧟♂️🤘

Can't say I see any tuning issues on £200 guitars without locking trems these days. I doubt these hardtail will have any at this price point.

its for players that have the guitar up high to do all the tipping, music box stuff. I have to admit though it did feel great to play.
