Bill, the son of former Mayor and local farmer, Aubrey Dean grew up in Blue Rapids, graduated from Blue Rapids High School and was active in WWII, the Korean Conflict, Viet Nam, and later; he retired as a General Officer from his last duty station at Fort Hood, Texas. I don't know his exact rank as General.
